So, I always thought Mortal Kombat would make an awesome dark RPG. It hasn't come out yet, it's just a free Indie game though, but seriously what if it were more official?

Considering an indie company almost certainly won't be able to afford the licensing fees to use anything copyrighted to the Mortal Kombat franchise, I'm fairly certain this is vaporware and a lame excuse to try and scam money out of some sort of crowdsourcing venue.

I don't think so. Gamejolt is Gamejolt. They don't do Vaporware.
