Hello fellow scribes of power and doom and glory.

So I have a high level character, who is level 41, but only caster level 34. This is due to PrC and 3 levels of cleric for access to Dweomerkeeper and initiate of mystra feat.

I already have Practised Spellcaster and thus I need something that can increase my casterlevel. I do not have a Ring of Arcane Might yet, but besides that, what can I do?

Thanks

Orange Ioun stone?

Just craft yourself a custom epic item that can increase it to arbitrary high value, or make yourself an Epic Practiced Spellcaster feat that stacks with itself and anything else.

P.S. D&D 3.5 is not supposed to be played at such high levels.

1) Grab a 1st level Chicken Infested Commoner and an Incantatrix.
2) Cast Consumptive Field, have the Commoner throw 17 chickens inside the field and slay them. Your CL is now 34+17=51.
3) Cast Greater Consumptive Field, have the Commoner throw 25 chickens inside the field. Your CL is now 51+25=76.
4) Cast Consumptive Field again, have the Commoner throw 38 chickens inside the field and slay them. CL 114.
5) Cast Greater Consumptive Field, have the Commoner throw 57 chickens inside the field. CL 171.
6) Repeat 4) and 5) until satisfied.
Satisfied) Have the Incantatrix apply Persistent Spell to the last istance of (Greater) Consumptive Field.

Make the above your morning buff routine.

First of all thanks for the replies!

How would you go about pricing such an item? Lets say you wantet a +10 to casterlevel (untyped bonus)

Alternatively, use Reserves of Strength to uncap Consumptive Field and just run around eating every chicken you find.

Costs of items that give numerical bonuses tend to scale quadratically. If you have a +1 CL item, the orange ioun stone, it costs 30,000 gp. So, a +10 equivalent should be that times 100, which is 3,000,000 gp.

Plus the Epic cost adjustment for an expensive item.

So the orange ioun stone would be something like: 1x1x15000= 15.000gp (x2 for slotless item)

A +5 version would then be 5x5x15000 =375.000 (x2 for slotless iten) Am I getting this right?

Depends on additional restrictions you put on it.
I.e. if +10 with "total not higher than HD" restriction would be 2.5 times the effect of Practiced Spellcaster feat. A feat is generally 20-30k gold, caster feats are on the upper side so 30k base cost for +4. Those scale as square the bonus, so it is 6.25*30k*10 (Epic) = 1,875k gold.

That's right, how could I forget about RoS?

Suffer the Flesh spell can increase your CL for one round by taking CON damage. Up to +5 CL for 10 con damage.

Dark Chaos Featswap to convert some of your armor and shield proficiencies from your cleric class into additional copies of Practiced Spellcaster. You'll lose proficiency with shields and heavy armor, but with mithril gear you don't need those feats anyway.

A daily use of create magic tattoo gets you another +1 CL.

Yep, though as Flickerdart pointed out, at some point your DM will consider the CL boost to be an epic item, and you'll end up with a further x10 multiplier.

Actually you don't lose proficiency by doing this, those feats are redundant since Clerics have a class feature giving them proficiency in addition to getting the 4 armor proficiency feats.

I'm highly skeptical that any DM would buy the argument of "no really, the rules give me those feats twice on purpose!" But hey, if your DM thinks that, go for it.

This list is good.
