My friend is doing a project for his statistics class and he wanted me to post this survey here to help him gather data. It's just three questions.
3) What is your major or field of study, or if you're undecided, what is your prospective major?
4) What is your preferred race?
5) What is your preferred class?
Post your answers here please. It would be incredibly helpful. Thank you.

I am a statistician. Self-selection of individuals to participate in a survey screws the sample. Thus there is no way to know whether or not the sample is representative of your chosen population.
Also, as Fhaolan alluded to, a lot of us don't have majors. Roughly 45% never attend college, and half of those who do never attain a four year degree. Plus, plenty of the people on this board are under 18, and thus don't have a major, or have since gotten advanced degrees, in which case our majors may or may not have any large bearing on our real education.
So your friend might as well be making number up. If I were grading his work I would fail him.
Having said that, I'm sorry if I came off as a jerk. I just hate sloppy research methodology, and there is way too much of it in this world.

this is actually my project, I asked Glooble to post it because I haven't been on this forum very often and I would probably be dismissed as a spambot or something.
I am a statistician. Self-selection of individuals to participate in a survey screws the sample. Thus there is no way to know whether or not the sample is representative of your chosen population.

I know non-response is an issue with surveys, but there's really no way around that with this kind of question. Also, this isn't the only place I've given the survey, so it's not just people on the GitP forum. the people who don't attend college arent part of my chosen population, and whether they get their degree or not doesn't really have any bearing on my question, I'm just looking for correlation between what people decide to major in and what class or race they decide to play. after looking at the data so far, class seems to have a slight correlation after I divide majors into humanities, arts, social sciences, natural sciences, and mathematics. I know this isn't the greatest survey, but it'l do for a basic statistics class whose only purpose is to fulfil a liberal arts student's math requirement. (math majors can't even count this class for their degree). Thank you to everyone who has replied thus far, and thank you person man, I take no offense. :)

3) What is your major or field of study, or if you're undecided, what is your prospective major?
- Business Economy (first year of university)
4) What is your preferred race?
- Elf (any). The immortal, the wisest, the fairest, and coincidentally, hard to play well but very rewarding. Allows for a variety of beautiful concepts.
5) What is your preferred class?
- Bard. I love having many options open, even if the overall result is quite underpowered.

I too hate poor methodology (not a stats major, but psychology majors do a lot of stats too), but since it's for a statistics class (a basic one, according to the recent comment) I figured he just needed a set of data for analysis, without too much worry about the methodology or outcomes.
