Improving Monsters - Ability Points as HD increases?

Hey all,

I'm going through improving monsters, following the SRDs info, for a campaign I want to start later this year. As the title suggests, do monsters gain ability points as you increase their HD?

Yes, every time their HD reaches a multiple of 4, they gain an attribute point.

Monsters published at or above 4 HD assume the earlier boosts are already assimilated into their stat block.
