When a warlock attacks an opponent with Eldritch Glaive while it is affected by an Eldritch Essence, does the opponent have to make a save for each time they are struck(from iterative attacks) or do they only make 1 save?

Also can Eldritch Claws be used with Eldritch essences or is it strictly just a damage dealing ability?

As I understand it:

Yes, a save per attack.

No, Eldritch Claws is not actually your Eldritch Blase, but a natural claw attack that copies the damage of your EB

Each time you hit with your eldritch glaive, the target of your attack is "affected as if struck by your eldritch blast (including any eldritch essence applied to the blast." So for each attack, separate damage and essence.

Eldritch claws, on the other hand, is not eldritch blast and does not work as if eldritch blast- it gives you claws that deal damage equal to your eldritch blast instead, so Eldritch Essences aren't applied.

This is the major upside of Glaive over Claws- claws is decent for damage dealing, especially early on, but Glaive can hit people with a lot of debuffs.

Edit: So mostly, what phlidwsn said, except wordier and with perhaps a smidgen more detail.
