Since the original awesome D&D stories thread is long dead and bumping it would be necromancy, I decided I had to tell everyone the story in its own thread, and then decided to make it a thread about various awesome stories overall for everyone to share.

Just some back info, this is a 3.5 campaign set in a homebrew world with only four planes. the world sits on a flat disc and the top half is the material plane and the underside is the underworld where skeletons and ghosts live primarily. There are good and evil planes, obviously called heaven and hell, but the are no other planes besides those four. For a mission our quest giver wanted us to save an ally of his who is being held in the underworld by the skeleton army. We had no means to deal with ghosts, and we were told that there was a green dragon in the mountains that had enough money for us to fight ghosts. We are level 4. Our party is Psychic Warrior(Me), Dragon Shaman, Artificer, and Cleric. Our cleric couldn't make it, and so I gave up the money I got from selling a +1 spear and then some so all three of us would have belts of Healing while our cleric was away so we could still play.

Here is the party:

Mustachio, Elan Psychic Warrior: A buff, 6'5" man that looks like a turn-of-the-century strongman with an over-sized mustache. He traded away the Elan ability that lets one survive a day without eating or drinking for a homebrew ability to let him regrow his mustache if it ever gets damaged. He believes in having a strong mind, body, and mustache are the keys to success. He often takes on disciples. He fights mainly using claws and summoning mustachebots(astral constructs that look like giant mustaches with muscular arms and legs)

Hakaan, Red Dragon Dragonborn Dragonwrought Kobold(Non-venerable) Dragon Shaman: Hakaan only has one goal in his life, and that is to become a real dragon. Everything about his build and lifestyle is becoming more and more like a true red dragon minus the being evil part. He has a tower(a rickety old wood shack our party owns), a princess (a poor elven woman he keeps dragging along with us), and a hoard(IE he never spends his own loot outside of making his princess more princess-like). The DM gave the class full BAB and the ability to wield martial so he would suck less since his build is pretty much all fluff. Fights mainly using a Katana he got off a ninja.

Steve the Human Artificer: Steve doesn't contribute to combat much. He does however allow us to have items at a discount. He just recently picked up a fancy crossbow so he could help out some in a fight. He also usually buffs our stuff with infusions in fights. He likes building stuff and that's pretty much the extent of his personality.

Joe Camel, Awakened Camel Cleric: Joe Camel loves smoking. So much so, he wants to share his smokes with the whole world, especially impressionable children. But the only thing he loves more than smoking is gambling away any money he gets until he has nothing left(If he wins he keeps gambling until he loses). The DM ruled that he had the physical scores of a normal camel, but had to roll for his mental stats. He used a feat to use the mating organ on the back of his throat(Look it up, its SFW but still gross) as a bludgeoning weapon (1d4) instead of his secondary bite attack. Unfortunately absent for this session.

"Princess", Elven Commoner: The princess is an elf woman whom was given to the party by her husband in return for three elf babies so he can juggle them(long story). Hakaan immediately designated her as his captive princess, and has since then bought her many pieces of jewelry and clothing so she looks like an actual princess. She's not to happy with her current situation but goes along with it probably because she has nothing better to do.

Carlos and Kevin the Goblins (Warrior1 /Fighter1): Mustachio's First disciples, they have been helping out with the fighting as of late. Previous to this session they went on a camping trip with Mustachio where they became fighters by fighting the wild animals there. Carlos is the 0th Goblin(promoted from 1st) and Kevin is the 2nd Goblin(He never got promoted). Carlos usually gets all the luck with rolls while Kevin consistently fails. They fight using waraxes and javelins while holding shields.

Cubert, Lesser Quadrone Modron: Cubert was originally part of a random encounter with three wingless quadrones. He asked to be spared and he became a fast ally and one of Mustachio's disciples. He mostly sits in a corner, transformed into a normal box to hold stuff(usually the next character on the cast list) and can fight using a spear if needed. He also has Smite Funky 1/day(Just look up the Funky/Square alignment axis homebrew on this very forum).

Little Green, Psionic Slug: Mustachio's most recent disciple, a glowing green halfing-sized slug that oozes ectoplasm. Up until the events of this session, it was unknown if he possessed any abilities or if he was even sentient. Mustachio bought him off the "Big fairy that makes all the rules" (A Satyr with plastic fairy wings so he could be king of the fairies) by trading in a powerful psionic item and some money. He spends most of his time inside Cubert.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

After we helped the fairy save their land from the gnome menace and because exalted characters for killing gnomes en mass and looting their burning village, and turned wolves we got from the fairies into skeleton wolves to be double agents in upcoming war(makes sense in context), we got word from our usual quest giver, The Commander, that his friend Eli was captured by the skelemen in the underworld.
His other friend Kyle the wizard and his Vegan Cat familiar Zebulon warned us there was ghosts there and we had no means to stop them. There was however a green dragon near by with mad dosh we could use to combat the ghosts. Our party heads out with Mustachio pulling the cart the NPCs ride in instead of Joe Camel since he was absent(I'm buff enough). We traveled for three day, and on the third one we ran into three carrion crawlers. We mopped the floor with them, with only Steve and Carlos getting paralyzed and Kevin actually hitting something and being finally promoted to 1st goblin, Carlos' old position. Since I blew over half my PP overchanneling like crazy, we decided to rest.
When we awoke we approached the cave and silently entered is, Mustachio told his disciples to remain outside, but Carlos and Kevin wanted to prove that they were brave, leaving Cubert, Little Green, and Hakaan's Princess in the cart outside. In the cave there seemed to be two primary rooms. a big open one that had both the entrance tunnel and a big pool of dirty water, and another with a vast amount of treasure on it. Hakaan threw a rock in the water to see if the dragon was there, but there was no reaction so we headed straight to the treasure. As soon as Hakaan started messing with the gold the large-sized green dragon popped out and breathed acid at mustachio, luckily he was the rear guard and no one else was in the effect area.
We rolled initiative and everyone went before the dragon. Mustachio gave himself 1d8 claws and summoned an aquatic Mustachebot MK III(aka 3rd level astral construct) by overchannling twice(Summons are standard actions in my D&D group). Hakaan closed in with his katana, Steve fired his crossbow, and the goblins started throwing javelins.
As the turns wore on we realized we were quite out of our league. We could barely ever hit the dragon, and he took down the Mustachebot in 2 rounds while still having enough attacks to hurt the rest of us. Mustachio was beaten down to 0 and expended all of his PP to reduce his damage to that point(he then fell unconcious after attacking), and Hakaan was almost on his way out when Cubert and Little Green came rushing in. On the dragons' turn he made Hakaan fall into the negatives as well. On Mustachio's turn, his disciples went into action. Little Green climbed on mustachios face to feed him ectoplasm, restoring his PP by 1, Carlos and Kevin shove thier potions into their masters mouth, and Cubert raised his spear against the dragon, ready to protect his new friends.
Unfortunately on the dragon's turn he grabbed Cubert and went under the water with him, and while we managed to get everyone back into the positives thanks to Steve using his own healing belt on Hakaan, no-one could kill him. On the dragon's next turn he opened up Cubert and breathed his whole breath into him, leaving him at single digits, and then threw him at full force at Mustachio. The DM allowed me to make a reflex save to catch him without hurting him, and was allowse to as a free action throw him back at him spear-first. Unfortunately Mustachio missed the dragon, but Cubert managed to land a blow with his reach, taking the dragon out. We were battered and bruised, and had poor luck throughout the whole fight but managed to all survive due to everyone working together.

In the end no-one objected to me giving the disciples a part of the treasure, and we also discovered that Little Green can talk, he just only does to Cubert, and that he might have more powers than just PP-restoring slime. The goblins leveled to level 3 and Hakaan rolled up a +2 Mighty Cleaving Katana on his treasure roll
