Ideas how to make a Brawler a la Netflix's Daredevil/Oldboy?

Like the title said, any ideas? I'm pretty sure you're familiar with what they could do, any ideas how to translate this on 5e? Tavern Brawler? Monk?

Monk is certainly the easiest way to do this. Not sure whether shadow monk or open hand monk would be better for Daredevil, though. I'd venture to say... prooobably shadow? Since he does a lot of sneaking in that show. Maybe refluff the supernatural invisibility and such into just being dang good at hiding.

If you're going for Netflix Daredevil definitely open hand monk. I'm playing one right now as a Daredevil clone and it works marvelously. I multiclassed to ranger at 5 for three levels to get fighting style, hunter's mark, and horde breaker. Great for a one against a dozen like you see Daredevil fight all the time.
