The warm smell of coffee, the delicious aroma of baking pastries... Ah. Could it be anywhere other than Elfbucks?

You're all at your posts, just a few minutes before the start of the first day. Dunkin' Dragons, your time has come!

Talila

Talila's been performing (dancing a lot) for the crowd outside for a good while now. The crisp morning air bringing out her rosy cheeks against her blue hair and eyes as the group of customers gathering for their morning coffee. She puts on a show and dramatically conjures up another firework that goes screaming into the air before exploding in a flash of elfbuck's signature colors.

Spotty, her familiar owl, is flying around with a sample basket mixed with their signature drinks and their various fresh baked muffins, bagels, danish, cakes, doughnuts, etc. etc...

As the doors come closer and closer to opening she starts to rhythmically dance in place and a booming voice comes from out of the sky reminding the customers/passerbys what they are waiting for and what items are on sell today. Gesturing to the line and trying to usher in the stragglers; she continues to put on a light show for all to see not just the customers. Bright lights of various shapes from arrows to the elfbuck's logo and dragons appearing in the air at random it seems. A whole experience/ruckus for all the senses.

Urikker turned the collar of his jacket up against the cool morning air, it was seriously too early in the morning for this crap. He ran an eye down the street before stepping out of the alley and hurrying in the back of his new place of employment. Although by the smell of the roast and baked goods someone was already hard at work. He walked around the breakroom and poured himself a cup of the morning's best and hung his coat on a peg before heading back to the stockroom to find some appalling apron to put on.

"Hello, anyone here?"

When the fireworks go off he came rushing out to the front, "What the frell was that?"

A blue haired elf dame witch was razing the dead, a bad day to leave his sword in the stockroom it seemed.

Yar, got ninjad by less than a minute.
Talila

Urikker walks out to a dragon hugging the store's sign and the blue haired dame holding a glowing ten pound explosive in her hand. The fuse lit and crawling up closer to its big performance. "Uh, it was a firework. I'm kinda bringing in the store with a bang." She puts up her unfilled hand to stop him from talking. "Oh! Crap. The doors opened and I wasn't ready." She yanks the string on what is effectively a bomb to send it into the air. "Just a moment."

She pulls a piece of chalk from her belt and quickly, elegantly scribbles a symbol onto the ground and press her hand upon it. A geyser of steam the size of a tree shoots out of the ground and into the sky. The former mist momentarily blocking the sun from the entire town as it turns into a cloud. The entire affair is over in seconds the clouds say is Elfbucks is open for business and its street location. Welcoming all who want to come.

"I think the entire town can see that? What do you think?"

2nd-level transmutation (ritual)
Casting Time: 1 action

You cause up to ten words to form in a part of the sky you can see. The words appear to be made of cloud and remain in place for the spell’s duration. The words dissipate when the spell ends. A strong wind can disperse the clouds and end the spell early.

Adrie had been sitting by the counter drumming her hands impatiently, but jumped right up and got behind the counter where she was supposed to be. Yes! Coming right up!

Once she had her instructions, Adrie whirled around to complete her task. But oh no! The cups were placed too far away from the coffee maker! Adrie needed to act quickly, and since she had magic...

Yay! We've started! Let's see how badly Adrie can mess this up by using Thorn Whip to grab the cups!

Urikker

"I think the whole county can see that sign, well plenty of people hopefully some of the magic university students will come by too." He looks a moment longer then turning to the chaos behind the counter he fetches a new cup for the one Adrie impaled then looked at the machine he was supposed to whip an expresso from, it looked ridiculous but he gave it a whirl. After throwing a scoop of something that looked like dragonspice he poured four shots into the mug and threw on some frothed milk.

Mundane task shouldn't require rolling right ;P

"One double double with dragon spice." He called out and put it on the counter next to the register. He looked at the customer then glowered with his best, you better drink that or I'll find you look.

Jennifer has been busy preparing Danishes stacked in a pyramid on a tray, quivers of biscotti, and a croissant recreation of the battle of Dunkus' shoe. She expected chaos on the first day so dismisses the sounds she hears. She sighs when she sees the broken cup. Sure, magic is all cool and everything but sometimes it's better to just use your hands. If they had followed the rites of passages through the stations, this would not have happened.

As she sets the pastries down, she smiles at the first customer and notices that he is impaired by his impalement. "Really?!? Everyone! Not harming the customers is the 4th rule of business."

Jennifer takes in the full scene and a switch flips in her head. She grabs her conveniently placed halberd and rushes around the counter. A smile crosses her face as she prepares to defend the counter and those near it. First day of business and already a chance to defend it!

[roll0] initiative if needed.

I figured as I'm starting a tad late and Jennifer needed to set down pastries and grab her weapon so wouldn't have an action to attack. She will use her reaction and polearm master to attack the first opponent that comes within 10' of her.

Lunk looks on as they run away, then casts a raised eyebrow at his fellow employees

But we have not used profanity, it is against company policy.

Sighing, he moves over to the corpse of the customer and searches for his wallet, then dangles him upside down while shaking in order to get any lose change that may be on his person. Once he is satisfied he will lug him out back and toss him out of the store. This process is then repeated to those from Dunkin' Dragon that fell in battle.

Stan
2015-06-15, 03:21 PM
Lunk, let's make sure the customer is really dead first. If they are dead, maybe we can help his loved ones file a suit against Dunkin' Dragons.

Jennifer cleans her halberd and ponders.

So, are we at war or officially in a feud with Dunkin' Dragons? Perhaps it was an individual store manager acting without higher authority? Are any of the fallen bandits still alive so we can interrogate them? I think we should write up our grievances and deliver them to a Dunkin' Dragons to gauge their response. That way we know where we stand. I wouldn't want to escalate the situation by burning down all of their stores unless we are clearly at war with the entire organization.
