Carrying Over DR With The Core Skeleton Template?

I'm looking at the 3.5 Core Skeleton template and it says that the skeleton loses all the base creature's special qualities unless they improve the creature's attacks. If a creature has damage reduction it's natural attacks are treated as the thing that overcomes it or something of that nature, right? So then would the creature's DR carry over since it has an impact on the skeleton's natural attacks?

That is a very interesting observation. There is certainly support in the RAW to make the argument, as I am unaware of a precedent for retaining only part of an ability that includes multiple benefits.

I thought it was a little curious so I wanted to ask and see if there was a general consensus on it or something of that nature.
