Ok, so the Heretic of the Faith feat in Power of Faerun lets you cleric be 2 steps removed in alignment from your Deity, and lets you swap one domain for any other domain so long as it is consistent with your heresy (subject to DM approval). Does this mean that if you pick a domain with [Good] spells and you are a heretic of an Evil deity, you can now cast those [Good] spells? Or does the restriction on granted spells still apply, thus rendering some of those spells unavailable (and probably damaging the foundation of your Heresy)?

Heretic of the faith does not give you a pass on not being allowed to cast spells opposite to your or your deity's alignment.

You can select a different domain, but if there are spells with a prohibited alignment descriptor on the domain spell list you still can't cast them.

This would have been a good question for the Simple RAW thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?418961-Simple-RAW-Thread-for-3-5-30-Really-30).

By RAW, you're obviously right, but "subject to DM approval" means they can essentially rule0 it if they want (I know, oberoni, but still)

being a Good heretic of an Evil deity, like the burning hate, would make thematic sense to take [Good] spells. since they're almost all trash anyway, I don't think your DM would want to bar it, so it couldn't hurt to ask.

if alignment isn't a thing to start a schism about, I don't know what is.
