Carvers are large wooden constructs, created for two purposes. They cut down trees with their massive saws, and they whittle them into useful or artistic forms. One hand of a Carver is the blade, while the other is an elaborate 10-fingered hand, filled with complex joints and connections, giving the construct phenomenal control over each finger. The tip of each finger is a different kind of carving tool, and with them, Carvers can create amazing works of art in minutes.
While they have a high intelligence, it is all based upon works of art and crafting, and Carvers have no real personality, and generally do not have sentience, although there have been some cases where they take control of their existence.
Carvers will rarely attack with their claw, as they are worried about damaging it, which would stop them from creating their art.

Woodworker's claw: Using their clawed hand, a Carver can make craft (woodworking) checks in 1/2 the time it would normally take to create an object. They also gain a racial +20 on the skill.

If a Carver is destroyed, it's claw can be safely removed if it was not destroyed in the act of killing the Carver. Once removed, it is a set of remarkable adamantine woodworking tools, granting a +3 bonus on all craft checks involving woodcarving. Carver's get this bonus as well, totaling at a +23 natural bonus for craft (woodworking).

Scarring Knives: The knives of the Carver's woodworking claws are extremely sharp, and can leave horrible scarring. On a critical hit, the subject takes 1d4 charisma damage, which is permanent unless healed magically.

Spinning Saw: A Carver can spin up it's sawblade as a full round action. The blade spins for 2d4 rounds. While spinning, it deals 3d6 damage instead of 1d8.

Creating a Carver
A Carver is created from a very large supply of high quality hard wood (generally about 1500 pounds) and slices of adamantine, as well as other materials totalling 4000 gp. Assembling the body requires a DC 15 craft (woodworking) check, and a DC 25 craft (metalworking) check for the claw.

CL 8th; Craft Construct, Wood Shape, Keen Edge, Fox's Cunning, Cat's Grace, caster must be at least 8th level; Price 10000 gp; Cost 4000 gp + 400 XP.

(is there a formula or something to determine xp cost and such for making a construct? I haven't done on before)

This is interesting, but very odd. What is the purpose of this creature?

The creature sounds great, but it kinda seems more like a flavour creature for a setting than a monster to me, prehaps if you put something in the flavour that would explain why PC's would end up fighting one. Appart from that good work
