The DMG says you can detect magical traps via Arcana, and remove or bypass them.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to implement this? Can the Arcana-proficient person remove the trap only for themselves, or for the party?

Should the DC be more or less than that for using the usual Perception / Investigation combo?

I'm AFB, but I'm pretty sure the Arcana DC is the same as the normal DC to disable.

The DC the spel says the DC is.

HE/SHE can detect and remove/bypass a magical trap. If he removes it, it is gone, if he bypasses it, it isn't gone and the others have to bypass it themself.

I've always though Int (Arcana) was stupid for disabling magic traps or spotting them.

Dexterity (Arcana) to disable. This shows knowledge and physical skill in disabling the device.

Just because you know about cars doesn't mean you can take it apart correctly or easily.

There's also the issue that we are given almost no clue as to what action the arcana checks represent. As in, what does a wizard or rogue do defeat a magic trap using arcana skills?

It still makes more sense than applying mechanical expertise to a formless, invisible enchantment.

Rogue can do it as a swift action and the wizard can do it as a full round action?

Eh, it's easy enough to flavor game-to-game. Skill at identifying aspects of the weave and plucking the threads of magic is probably the simplest method to fluff.
