Right, so I got a bit bored and decided to make a PrC. This is totally not inspired by Soul Calibur ;)
Basically a class for those who want monks to fight with weapons and yet retain the monk coolness. Tell me what y'all think.

Spirit of the Blade

Hit Die: d8

The ruffian stares at the maid incredulously, the only person daring to block his exit from the inn. “You haven’t paid,” she says, her serious expression in total contrast to the cute French Maid outfit she wore.

“You’re going to stop me with what, that broom you’re holding?” Roaring with laughter, the ruffian drew forth a flail. “I’ll teach you a lesson! Let’s have a good spankin’ from Papa Tor -”

He never did finish the sentence as the broom shattered his weapon in a single lightning-fast strike, and the next blows sent him deadpan flying across the room, smacking against the tavern wall. There was a moment of stunned silence as the remaining patrons watched the maid twirl the broom in a dizzying pattern, finishing with her closing stance.

Looking a bit embarrassed as she tidies up her hair, the maid simply resumes cleaning up after they mop up the body… Keeping her past behind her sure was hard.

Just as a monk trains to develop and release their ki energy, Spirits of the Blade are those who train to infuse their weapons with their ki energy. Those who master the art can cut and bash through steel and walls alike with even the most rudimentary weapons, and rival the monk in their attack speed.

Martial Training
The Spirit may freely multi-class with the monk class; in addition, monk and Spirit levels stack for the purposes of determining the number of Stunning Fist usage per day.

Weapon Flurry
The weapon which the Spirit chose for her Weapon Focus is treated as a monk weapon, and can be used in conjunction of a flurry attack.

Ki Focus
As a result of their training, Spirits can focus their ki energy through the weapons they wield. Any weapon wielded by the Spirit is treated as having the Ki Focus ability, and bypass damage reduction as if it were a magic weapon.

Soulcharge
As a standard action, the Spirit can infuse a melee weapon she wields with her soul’s energy, granting it greater resilience and power. At second level, she may grant the weapon an ability equal to a +1 bonus (such as the flaming ability); at higher levels, she may grant the weapon greater powers, as seen in the chart. The bonus lasts a number of rounds equal to 3 + the Spirit’s wisdom modifier, and expends one use of her daily stunning fist attempts. Only one such charge may be active on a weapon at a time, and the weapon loses the charge when leaving the Spirit’s hands; the charge returns, however, when the Spirit regains possession of the weapon (the time limit still applies). In addition, a soul-charged weapon is harder to break, with its hardness increased by 2 and HP increased by 10 for each +1 bonus granted.

At level 5, the Spirit becomes more adept at infusing her weapons, needing only a move action to charge a blade; at level 9, she masters the skill and needs only a swift action.

Ki Strike
Infused with their energy, a weapon wielded by the Spirit can hurt even the most resilient foe. At their respective levels, weapons wielded by a Spirit bypass damage reduction as if they were the associated materials on the table.

Power Flurry
When using the flurry action with the weapon chosen for Weapon Focus, the Spirit of the Blade adds 1.5 her strength modifier if wielding the weapon in two hands. This does not apply to light or double weapons.

Um... whats this PrC suppossed to be good at?
A kensi/monk drop kicks this PrC out of the park... (not a fair comarpison but similar points and Kensi gets permanent bonuses)

Wait, since all of these abilities only seem to fuse your ki energy to your chosen weapon, was that chicks chosen weapon a broom?

No - you can fuse the energy with any weapon in your hand. You can only flurry with your chosen weapon (so it would let you flurry with a scythe if that was your focused weapon).

So you can treat a broom as a quarterstaff... I was highlighting how far this class can go with that little intro =P

As to how it'd compare to a Kensai - this class has far greater versatility. I'd actually love to see a fight between the two and see how it turns out.
