How can a cleric hide his undead nature?

Hi there :D

I have an undead cleric character in my party.
He wants to disguise himself as living, as that is most practical for normal roleplaying scenarios (so that they don't all start with "omg you are an undead").

What options are there, RAW?

The Disguise Self and Alter Self spells (levels 1&2) can help (former is trickery domain, latter isn't a cleric spell but could be got from a scroll).

Hat of Disguise is an uncommon item.

But really though, disguise a lot. How common is magic/holy men/people with detect undead type magical abilities in this world? If they're common, then he'll need something pretty specifically powerful to keep it hidden long. Otherwise, lots of bandages... maybe the reek of liquor to cover the stench of rot? Could definitely pass as a leper. That sort of stuff.
