So after hours of work I finally finished this

http://drive.google.com/uc?view=download&id=0B0ndOVbVltqDY3lJeXNOYnppTjA

which I rather like. My problem is that I want to use this as an avatar. I'm not sure of exactly what pixel size the board allows so I just started comparing images and rezizing. Eventually I ended up with this:

http://www.simpleimageresizer.com/_uploads/photos/455ed12a/Crest_1_3_120x120.png

Which is obviously of far poorer quality and im just not happy with it. Does anyone have any idea of what I can do to get something a bit cleaner and nicer of avatar size? also can anyone tell me the precise avatar image size limits?

The first link seems to be broken, but the avatar size is 120x120.

What methods did you use (i.e. programs and steps and such)?

can you see the image now?
as for what programs I used, I made the initial image with inkscape and exported as a bitmap (selection) with a width of something like a hundred to get the initial image. Then I went to this site (http://www.simpleimageresizer.com/upload#.VYodBvlVhBc) and shrunk it down to a width of (ironically) 120 (the unit I presume being pixels)

Ah. Well, generally I export it as a .png (also from IS), and resize it in Paint.net (which is free). It should be crisper, but you are still going to lose a lot of detail, as is the nature of resizing.

I think I'm just gonna have to settle on using just the head, speaking of which, is this visible?
