Ban it.

It gets at-will shapeshifting and bonus spell slots for all spell levels.

That gets the boot very quickly.

Did your DM actually let you have this? Because both abilities are near game breaking on their own.

Yep, that is it.

I said do with, not do to.

Ability Score Increases: Your Intelligence score increases by 2. Your Charisma score increases by 1.
Speed: Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Magical Affinity: An *** natural gift for spellcasting grants a free Cantrip of the player's choice from the wizard's spell list. It also grants one additional spell slot per spell level.
Shape Change: *** are natural shape-changers. When an *** reaches second level, they can use their action to alter their shape to that of any humanoid race provided it is no more than two feet taller or shorter than the ****. Reverting back to the ***natural form requires the use of a bonus action on your turn. The chosen shape lasts until the ****decides to end it, even if the ****is knocked unconscious or even killed.
I'm thinking a weird wizadin build. Starting with paladin for the proficiencies and increased health. Then after second level, go wizard for spell slots and good casting. Then, you use shape change to switch between something like Orc/Dragonborn for powerful smiting and then reverting to its natural form for actual casting and lay on hands. The cantrip doesn't add a whole lot, you'll get a good variety of cantrips just with wizard. Also, you can use the shape changing + some illusions/charms from wizard to own the social pillar.

+2 Intelligence, bonus cantrip, and extra spell slots?

Wizard wizard wizard, wizard wizard, wizard wizard!

well whatever it is you go with, if you're expecting to reach high enough level to get there i wouldn't go with anything that doesn't give you level 9 spells.

This isn't very clear. Do they get the abilities of the race they appear to be, or do they simply look the same? The later is useful. The former is overpowered.

Either way, the obvious choice is to make him a barbarian.

It's fine for the most part, but the spell slots are crazy OP. Go by the example of Tieflings and give them a selection of 1/day spells of levels 1, 2, and maybe 3.

The first thing I'd do with it is give it a name, so that the description doesn't look like it is full of expletives that have been heavily censored.

Lore bard. Put 15 in CHA to get 16 from the +1, then 14 in Int to get it to 16 (for all the knowledge skills), then 12 Wis, 13 Con, 10 Dex, 8 Str. That's a low Dex, but...don't want to lose the meager +1 to CON and then you could take Resilient (Con) to put Con up to 14 and get proficiency in saving throws.

Then you have a heck of a skillmonkey with an extra spell slot per spell level, low spells per day and no short-rest spell recovery being one of the few things keeping bards in check.

Put Expertise in Deception, and maybe take the Linguist feat at some point. Could put the 14 in Con, the 13 in Int, and still get to 16 Int with Linguist.

Yeah, I've got to go with Wizard also. There's just nothing else I can think of that can better utilize an extra spell slot at every level, which is just insane.

Wizard seems like the obvious choice but it has to be asked, how does that extra spell slot feature function with Warlock? Depending on the answer to that question, Warlock could be a better option.

I was also going to suggest Warlock to truly break the gm with whackiness.

Fighter, Eldritch Knight. It seems like there's more obvious inspiration as you're working against type to some extent, and the race abilities supplement the classes spells, while working fairly well on the character level as an example of the typical talents coming through despite the character going against it.

I'd do Rogue 1 / Enchantment Wizard 19. You'd be the ultimate infiltrationist. Choose Deception and Persuasion for your Expertise skills. Suddenly you're whoever, whenever, and you get wherever and whatever you want. No door is closed to you, in many ways. Sadly you're committing to a totally worthless Dex 13 to pull this off, but since your Str, Con, and Wis can all be as low as they need to be, it should be possible to make that happen while keeping Int and Cha suitably high.

I'd advise against warlock, since if you argue for a strict as-described benefit to a warlock, taking their intended at max 4 spell slots and adding one slot per spell level, the DM will likely just disallow the whole thing. It would be reasonable for bonus slots to not interact at all, like Warlocks and Multiclass spellcasters.

If not Wizard, Bard, for all the same reasons above, trading the enchantment features for cutting words and peerless skill. Honestly, though, with that kind of race, you could be a BSF and still have fun, so go with whatever you want. You can't really choose a "wrong" class here.

Paladin. Extra slots to smite with.

Try him as an NPC. An adversary you meet throughout your campaign or an unwilling allie. See how that goes. Make him a monk or wandering wizard type or ranger guide.

Clever dopplegangers with bonus spells? Wow.

Interesting race for NPCs, either as the rulers or as criminals. Absolutely banned as a player race.

If you want to play one, take a serious hit - like dissolves in water, or ignites in sunlight.

yeah dude, wizard and paladin already get plenty of spell slots so they will just get kinda better....

WARLOCK on the other hand is built around only having a couple slots available at any given time...give them another what...20? (is that how it works? literally an extra slot per PC level? or per spell level?) either way even if it's spell level, warlock spell level ramps up fast. you would be looking at

2 slots at lvl 1 (Warlock level), 3 at level 2, 4 at 3, 5 at 5, 6 at 7, 7 at 9, 8 at 11 and 9 at 17.

so 9 5th level spell slots that recharge on short rest? plus your 4 mystic arcana castings? serious god mode.

just take your lest 3 levels in sorc for quicken spell and cast a 5th level fireball and agonizing blast literally every turn and not worry about it.

or have AoAgathys and flameshield up 100% of the time

You can make a warlock with this.
