Hey folks!

A long time ago, I used to have a username here called Abjurer.
But I forgot my password and that email account is long dead.

Anyway, I got so excited about the most recent strip (OotS #991 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0991.html)) that I just had to come back.
Maybe I'll go back to forum games like I used to. But right now I'm all about WILD SPECULATION!

So here's my (total fanboy nonsense) theory. Maybe somebody already said this, in which case ignore me.

Tenrin Thundershield, Durkon's father, is currently alive and residing in the parallel plane of which we have seen glimpses through the Rifts.

Supporting evidence (most of it is a stretch):

Tenrin's body was never found. Sure, he was buried under rubble along with a living and angry half-dragon troll. But he's not proven dead.

Tenrin was "a true savant [of geology]... he found a weak point in the cave's structure". Perhaps the instability in the cave was due to the instability of the inter-dimensional fabrics?

In the narrative, that whole crayon story is sort of irrelevant unless he's alive. You know? It's a classic set up for a "I am your father" reveal. And what better way for him to survive than to slip into another dimension at the last possible second!

Look at the panel in the crayon story where the cave collapses. There are two pink things on the left side: The arm is outlined. The leg(?) is not. Misplaced line? ...or intentional differentiation! Perhaps it is the Rift through which Tenrin escaped! See OotS #276 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0276.html)

Anyway, yeah.
Deliberate! Or something.
