Hey everyone, I have been looking around in my 3.5 books that I have and I don't remember finding any summoner classes. Any idea on how to make one?

That's certainly a broad question.

A class that summons? Druid, Wizard, Sorcerer, Spirit Shaman, Dread Necromancer, Cleric, and bunch of others.

PF has a summoner, which does exactly what it says on the tin.

Clearly, the OP is asking for the Moonspeaker class from Races of Eberron, which takes a Druid's ordinary Summon Nature's Ally spells and adds extraplanar creatures to them, and later adds Planar Ally and Gate spells to his list. Among other things.

That's what you mean, right, OP?

And if it's not... Could you provide some more detail as to what you are looking for?

Yeah I know that all of the above mentioned can summon, but they can't summon that much, I was looking for a way to make a summoner that only uses summons and nothing else for 3.5 edition

And that could work red fel, I was just trying to think of a way to basically make a wizard only able to use summons or something along those lines

You could always just summon. Wizards have conjuration class features that make it easier, (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/specialistWizardVariants.htm)and you can focus specialize in conjuration for 2 more slots per level for more summons. Summoning is strong enough by itself to get you through most fights.

I think your problem is that these classes are too good. All summoners are casters, but most casters have other options. :smalltongue:

The way to make a Wizard who only uses summons is to make a Wizard, and select only summoning spells and summon-related metamagic feats.

To my knowledge, there is no class that gains summoning abilities and nothing else. That said, as a player, you can always choose to use only a handful of tools, regardless of the size of your toolbox.

I will echo what Snowbluff said about the PF Summoner (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/summoner), however, if it is available to you. Although the class does get spells, the central focus is the ability to cast Summon Monster as an SLA, and to summon an Eidolon, which is basically your personalized guardian monster. It's also worth noting that Summoner spells tend to be either summoning spells, battlefield control spells, or buffs, with a few other exceptions, so your list of spells known can be easily narrowed to focus on improving the performance of your summons.

Well then, how many hundreds of undead do you need before it is "that much"? Cleric and Dread Necro can summon an entire army. Druids usually have fewer, but more powerful ones. Each one can be a potent summoner if optimized around that aspect. The Malconvoker PrC is often considered a great addition to a summoning-based build.

All of those classes can summon plenty. Like, it's unlikely that there'd be an amount you could want to summon that'd remain unfulfilled by choosing one of those classes. That you'll inevitably have the ability to do just about anything else also isn't necessarily a problem, and you can contour your build around summoning such that it tends to be your solution to any given problem. Somewhat similar to Red Fel, my preference is towards a shifter druid running four levels of moonspeaker and the first two trades from shifter druid substitution levels. After that, you typically want either greenbound or rashemi elemental summoning, and then a number of items including the ring of the beast, maybe a belt of battle, and perhaps a summoner's totem, with some possible bolstering feats like ashbound. The overall result should make you very good at summoning indeed, and you'll also incidentally have the power to do most other things that exist.

If you're looking for a summoner, you could do a lot worse then Conjurer 5/Malconvoker 9/Master Specialist 6. A few free feats, your summons have extra HP and duration, and a whole bunch of other things.
