A Helpfulle Guide From Ye Greate & Noble Lord Iames Osari :smallwink::smallbiggrin:

Well, to use a custom avatar, first you have to upload it to an imagehosting site like Photobucket (http://photobucket.com/).

From there, finding the URL of the image is pretty easy - they give it right to you, but I'll show you how to find it anyway...

See those red circles? That's where you can find the URL for the image once you've uploaded it.

From there, you'll want to get to your User Control Panel. The easiest way is via the link in the upper left-hand corner, on the little brown bar.

Once you're in your Control Panel, click the Edit Options button.

Then scroll down until you see this:

Click the "Custom" option and enter the URL of the image in the appropriate box, and then enter the dimensions.

Getting the height and width right is very important - make sure you know the dimensions of your avatar and plug in the correct values, but remember that 120x120 is the highest you can go.

Once you've done that, click the "Save Changes" button right there at the bottom - there's no red circle around it, sorry, I forgot to put one - and you should be all set.

Edit: Oh, and to post images in a thread, just use http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k177/LordIames/Self.png (not necessarily that URL, of course).

Looks good. I think most people know how to use a custom avvy, but the newbies might not. This must have taken a while, so good job.
