Slime

Ability Score Increase: Constitution +2, Strength +1

Size: Medium

Speed: 20', Climb 20' (Spiderclimb)

Blindsight: You have Blindsight out to 30'. You have no ordinary sight.

Amorphous: You can move through openings as narrow as 1" without squeezing

Corrosive: A Black pudding cannot use wooden or metal equipment, as it corrodes almost instantly. However, your unarmed attacks do 2d4 damage, half bludgeoning and half acid.

Thoughts? Amorphous seems pretty powerful, and will likely be the main draw of the race.

I think it is weird enough that you need to define and explain a a lot more.

What happens if it walks on a wooden or carpet floor? What if you give it a weapon with a glass, stone or ceramic sheathed handle?

Can it manipulate *any* objects? Can it talk?

Doesn't this nearly instant corrosion translate into the ability to break through any metal or wood objects relatively quickly?

I agree, elaboration would be nice :D

I...sneak attack!!! :D

It honestly might be too OP. This seems better than flight. Especially if you're playing a rogue.

Yeah. On second thought, I'm not sure this is balancable. At all.

Ah well.

Ah well.

It seems like a fun concept, though, if it's possible to balance it, I'd like to see you try :D

Okay, take 2.

Stats: Constitution +2, Strength +1

Size: Medium

Speed: 20'

Blindsight: You have Blindsight out to 30'. You have no ordinary sight.

Amorphous: You have no set form. You are able to squeeze through gaps as narrow as 1", though any space less than 1' wide slows your speed to 5'. In addition, you cannot attack or bring equipment through any space 1' or narrower.

Due to your malleable form, all armor costs 4X as much to create and prevents you from squeezing through narrow spaces.

Languages: Common, Ooze

This is better! :D

Question: Why do they get a Strength bonus? I'll admit I'm not very familiar with the Slime stat block, but Dexterity seems like it would be more appropriate...doesn't it? I could be very wrong :P

Slimes have massive Strength and Constitution. Not so hot on Dexterity.

Which, oddly enough, makes them fantastic Barbarians. Enjoy that mental image.

Okay, that's making more sense in my head now :D

Is it balanced, though?

And if not, how do I balance it better?

It seems more balanced than it was before. I'm not sure if the balance is perfect, but it's definitely more balanced than it was :)

I also agree that strength seems a bit odd.

Balance wise? I've played a pathfinder campaign with a friend who did a slime alchemist. He had a habit of storing items he found into bubbles which he put into his body. He did this a lot with his bombs.

This is balanced compared to that.

But I could be wrong.
