Could someone explain the Perpetual Damage Machine?

I read Lord of Procrastination's perpetual damage machine today. Here is a link (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=12864307&postcount=9), the original, I believe was lost. However, I don't understand why the damage propagation works that way. It seems to assume that the damage gets re-combined when dealt back to the first person, but I can't see why that should happen.

Could someone explain why the damage combines again to begin another cycle?

Perspective A:
The 4 clumps of 2 damage are from the same source(Glory of the Martyr) and thus is clumped.

Perspective B:
Glory of the Martyr activated 4 separate times and thus the damage is not clumped.

I don't know of any rules support that goes that indepth into the mechanics. But I am not one to know much of the obscure rules. However I do know that it is likely that both perspectives are the result of opinions filling in perceived gaps in the rules.
