Racial Spell-Like Ability Question

I am playing a Fey'Ri from Races of Faerun. It states that I gain the racial spell-like ability to Detect Thoughts (as the spell) 1xday.

My question is:

1) Do I need to have the arcane or divine focus to utilize the spell like ability as stated in the spell description?

I am thinking no but I can't find anything in the rules to say either way.

SLA do not use foci

"A spell-like ability has no verbal, somatic, or material component, nor does it require a focus or have an XP cost. The user activates it mentally. Armor never affects a spell-like ability’s use, even if the ability resembles an arcane spell with a somatic component."
