Recently I was just thinking about how one might knock out of the air or catch a thrown weapon. Say, in this example, a chakram. I'm sure there a feats and such that allow this, but let's assume that the character doesn't have them. My thinking is that you'd have to perform a readied action before the opponent throws the chakram, and then make an attack roll on the weapon itself when it approaches you. Obviously, this would be insanely difficult, but would that even work?

If it did, I'm imagining a scenario where it turns into an incredibly ridiculous game of frisbee.

Not unless the thrown weapon has specific rules that allow you to catch it. (I don't know of any that do.) Otherwise, you would need a special ability that allows you to do so, such as the Snatch Arrows feat.

Two characters with Snatch Arrows and Infinite Deflection can toss a thrown weapon between them an unlimited number of times per round, though, which is cool.
