Walls in Spell Compendium

Just a quick question:

Are any of the Wall spells listed in Spell Compendium available targets for the Permanency spell?

By RAW, no.

Permanency hasnt been updated since those newer books came out.

If they were, then it would be mentioned in the spell's description. Example (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/wallOfFire.htm). As it currently stands, none of them contain that sort of wording, so none of those can be made permanent.

Permanency gets no love in the Spell Compendium. It is only even mentioned twice - once to note that Mass Darkvision cannot be made permanent and it is also listed as a spell in the Time Domain.

I've often felt it was the dev's way of silently admitting "Permanency wasn't the brightest idea".

I doubt that anyone feels that way. It was just another of the myraid of holdovers that have been included in every D&D version because it's iconic.
