Sup.

What's a plane? Planes are a dimension outside our own ( the material plane). You might want to read up on this one. The differences between quasi and para planes can be tricky.

Make sure to have permission to make a plane! Post permissions below!

The Quasi-Elemental Plane of Lord Gareth

A harrowing realm filled with psychic torments, the Quasi-Elemental Plane of Lord Gareth is said to have once been a golden realm in an older era of the multiverse, before the quasi-element known as Lord Gareth was put to so many varied and horrendous uses by vile forces from across the cosmos. Silvery isles covered in a patina of tarnish resembling feathers rise from a chaotic sea of stormclouds, and where outcroppings of land can be found they are pitted and blackened, cracked in a way that suggests some form of lightning has struck down upon them. Most life in this plane migrates within one of the many storms that roil through its skies, remaining in the eye and hoping that some ill wind does not collapse it upon them. Lord Gareth is a substance that cannot be permanently destroyed save via reality fracture, and so the many settlements constructed of the plane's matter can only be seriously damaged by more of same. In some lands, where the Region of Dreams has poured through rifts in the tempestuous planar matter, long and jagged gouges have been left like the carving of a knife by the violent reaction between the dreamstuff and the plane. These lands, much like volcanic soil, appear to thrive more than most.

Inhabitants

The quasielementals of the plane take the forms of vast corvids, particularly rooks. Strange feylike beings who call themselves "lost" or "changelings" appear sporadically about the plane, as well as exiled hybrids of Prime races that would not be expected to breed true and various unusual psionic creatures. Of late, vampires have appeared in the plane in numbers, and it seems that they have taken up residence in the more stable of the silvery isles, with the populations of new and emerging isles as yet unknown.

In a time long past, when the plane was rent with quakes and storms but more stable overall, a great draconic creature ruled over the plane from its labyrinthine prison-palace. Now, the isles of the plane crack and heave by the hour, and a strange group calling themselves Those Who Locate The Roads attempt to assert dominion over the plane, to mixed success.

Cosmological Traits

Portals to the Plane of Lord Gareth form constantly in the roiling storm, often flooding locations in other planes with its rage and vituperative winds. Similarly, the plane occasionally opens spontaneous rifts to a terrible layer of the Abyss for an unknown reason; such events usually result in an immediate and horrific backlash against the plane. The Quasielemental Plane of Lord Gareth has the following planar traits:

Variable Gravity
Normal gravity typically applies across the plane, but there are frequent periods of heavy gravity and more than a few times when light gravity applies. When the vituperative winds of the plane rise up, gravity is wildly mutable and becomes subjective directional gravity until the winds die down.

Normal Time

Alterable Morphic with Static regions
Some parts of the Plane of Lord Gareth are impervious to any attempt to alter them.

Mildly Negative-Dominant
Many regions have no dominant elemental trait, but much of the storm has this characteristic.

Mildly Chaotic and Good-Aligned

Explanation of Quasi- and Paraelemental Planes
Paraelemental planes are between two adjacent elemental planes, e.g. Ooze is between Water and Earth.
Quasielemental planes are between an elemental plane and an energy plane (positive or negative), e.g. Lightning is between Air and Positive.

So if it's tied to the positive or negative energy planes, it's quasi. Otherwise, it's para.

I grant permission. I accidentally wrote one for myself (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?425657-The-Cleric-Now-it-s-every-class/page4&p=19530369#post19530369), so feel free to steal and expand upon the concept.

The Para-Elemental Plane of Paladins (And Loyalty)
Yes I know it's actually Quasi Elemental, but I do it for the sake of alliteration

At the cusp of the very highest reaches of the Seven Mounting Heavens of Celestia, where the borders with the ever flowing life of the Positive Energy Plane wear thin lies a small demiplane resort, reserved for only the most exalted and loyal champions of good. The entrance to this plane plane, the Para-Elemental Plane of Paladins, is forever guarded by nine exalted Valkyries who test the worthiness of those seeking entrance. Though they will turn away anyone who fails to meet their exacting standards, the Valkyries are not heartless and will render what aid they can to anyone who seeks their help, including offering guidance to those who seek entrance to the plane itself.

Meeting the requirements necessary to enter the plane is extremely tricky: one must be an absolute champion of Good, unbound by duty to a deity, who has undertaken and succeeded on a great task to rid the world of a powerful evil such as a powerful demon or devil, the destruction of a major artifact of evil, or the redemption of a truly evil mortal. In addition, there is one other requirement that the Valkyries will not share: the entrant must have suffered some sort of taint or fall as a part of their journey and over come it or returned to their righteous path though atonement. For only those who have truly experienced the depravity of evil can understand the true value of good.

Inside the Plane

Upon gaining entrance to the Para-Elemental Plane of Paladins, one is immediately filled with life energy and renewal. The entrant is immediately subjected to the following spell-like effects: heal, remove curse, break enchantment, regeneration, and Polypurpose Panacea (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/p/polypurpose-panacea). The plane serves as a resort, and is filled with bounteous nature: trees ever ripe with delicious fruit, fields of golden grains as far as the eye can see, deep lakes and rivers full of perfectly clean water, and ancient forests full of beasts that can be hunted for sport and glory. Beautiful villas dot the countryside, with fountains from which flow whines and ales of exceptional quality and potency. The weather is always perfect, alternating between bright sunny days and gentle rains in the evening, with never a cloud in the sky save those that inspire works of great art.

The denizens of the plane, a collection of lesser celestials and mortal souls who lived truly pure lives, act as guides, companions and servants to the visitors to the plane, attending to their every need during their stay.

Here, the greatest champions of good rest and recover from their fights in order to ready themselves for the next great challenge. At any given time there are at least a dozen legendary champions of Good, all of whom are willing to share their advice and wisdom to their companions.

Time within the plane is limited though. This is a place of rest and relaxation, but the living soon find themselves eager to return to their own world and to continue the work of spreading good and justice throughout the land. It is rare for a living extraplanar (from the perspective of the plane) creature to remain for more than a month.

Upon leaving, the champions of good are gifted one final present. A contingent true resurrection is placed upon them after their first visit. Should they be slain in their duty, this one time effect will raise them without any level loss or constitution damage, but it can only be applied once.

Planar Traits

There is only one entrance or exit to The Para-Elemental Plane of Paladins as detailed above. Within the plane itself it has the following traits:

Normal Gravity

Normal Time

Mildly Positive-Dominant

Strongly Good Aligned

Mildly Lawful Aligned

Special Trait: Nonlethal Plane Creatures slain on this plane return to life 24 hours later as if subject to a true resurrection spell, or wish spell. It is impossible to prevent this from occurring while on the plane itself.

Upon touching them the animegif will be lodged into one's brain in the form a suggestion spell to be used or cast at the person's discretion. The elemental plane of Marlowe is a place of peace. Since nobody else has touched it:

The Fel Red Fields

The Fel Red Fields are a demiplane of the lower planes that is intermittently coterminous with all other lower planes. Portals to this plane can be accessed from Acheron, Baator, Gehenna, Hades, Carceri, the Abyss, and Pandemonium. While most of these portals appear randomly, there are several that are predictable enough that the Fel Red Fields are of key importance in the Blood War. In particular, there is a portal that opens directly to the 9th layer, Nessus, every 10,000 years. This means that the Fel Red Fields are one of the most highly valued strategic targets of the Blood War, for if any one side could gain a true foothold, the war could easily be over. Demons and Devils fight constant battles across this plane, aided by mercenary and slave fiends of the other planes, and even good aligned creatures on occasion (as the good aligned deities fear an end to the blood war more than anything else).

Despite all this, the Denizens (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=19000423&postcount=15) of the Fel Red Fields remain relatively untouched and unconcerned by the near constant bloodshed surrounding them. They often live and work in villages and towns built right in the middle of the great battlefields, using scraps of metal and stone from the blasted landscape to build their homes and mixing their mortar from the blood of fallen fiends. Fiends that visit these villages feel a strange and repressive sense of calm, the villagers are often willing to trade with anyone who visits them (at an appropriate markup, of course) but any attempts at violence or coercion are met with swift, and final, retribution. Rumors among veterans of these Blood War Battlefields make mention of the denizens being guarded (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=19052164&postcount=42) by (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=19052207&postcount=45) an (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=19052240&postcount=47) ancient (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=19273737&postcount=25) and (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=19273870&postcount=28) terrible (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=19052019&postcount=34) Evil, one that may be stronger than even Asmodeus or all the Demon Lords combined. What this entity's interest in the plane is, or whether it even exists is unknown and the denizens are unwilling to say.

Geography

The blasted lands of the Red Fel Fields rarely retain a set geography or climate for long thanks to the devastating magics of the Blood War, but while the battles are fierce, nature here is fiercer. Wild growths of trees resplendent with toxic thorns spring up within minutes, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions are a near daily occurrence, and great storms and blizzards mark the passing of the seasons. Though again, the native denizens of the plane seem largely unconcerned and unaffected by these cataclysmic changes.

Planar Traits

Entrances to the demiplane can be found across all the lower planes, most entrances open and close randomly, but there are regular openings found on every layer of the Abyss that is owned by a Demon Prince, as well as the legendary portal that leads directly to Nessus.

Oh, very well.

I choose to interpret this as permission.

Knowledge-By-Fury

Knowledge-by-Fury is a place strange even among the planar experienced. It can only be found by stepping through one of Sigil's portals while mistakenly using the wrong key, and then only by the Clueless, and not even always then.

Some have said it is a layer of the Abyss, deeper than most. Some have placed it as a forgotten Volcano of Gehenna, an especially fiery cave of Pandemonium or a divine realm on the plane of fire. Some suspect it is on the Ordial. Most likely, it is a demiplane.

The place is unpleasant, the ground of what seems to be jagged rock of a sandy colour, shaking with a deep grumble. Red lightning rends the sky asunder and torrents of sulphur-blue flames sweep across the ground.

These are not the greatest dangers.

What will kill you are the books.

The ground underneath, that you thought was rock is made from compacted, ancient scrolls, half-petrified, yet still razor-sharp at the edges. They can be pulled out, but they will always draw blood. On each a secret is written and all are important, though you may not know what they are the answer to.

What you thought was the rumble of an earthquake is the sussurus of millions of deep voices, as the scrolls whisper their contents to each other.

There are tunnels in the cliffsides, irregular, jagged holes hewn into the scrolls, which lead into lightless depths where yet stranger books lie, unseen by all mortal eyes.

There is a kind of weather, too. In waves and avalanches, books periodically sweep across the landscape, each burning with a blue flame. They will bury the unprepared under their bulk, though sometimes, one can be caught by the careful. They can be read, though they will snarl and snap and fight and burn through all containment in minutes.

Then there are the inhabitants. Nine great, black towers rise atop the highest mountaintops and they imprison nine beings. Some say they are histories greatest villains. Some say they are archetypes for villainy itself. A traveller may converse with them, but for most, this is not recommended. On each tower, edged in burning, unpleasant runes of the dark speech, is written the inhabitant's history and nature.

There is a tenth native of the plane. The most fearsome of all, the great Afroakuma. He stalks the land in the guise of a monk of fearsome aspect, with fists and eyes of flame. Each traveller he meets is entitled to a single question. Ask wisely, for he will unerringly slay all those whose questions he thinks are trivial, or foolish, or inappropriate.
Those whose questions he thinks are of multiveral importance will get answers, long and detailed and then be allowed to return to whence they came. He will open a portal of fire and lightning, open for only seconds, burning hot enough to char flesh.

This is the only way out. Take it.

The Tippyverse

Normal Gravity, Flowing Time (Special: Any time spent in the Tippyverse is no time on any other plane), Infinite, Magically Morphic, No Element/Energy Trait, Mildly Neutral-aligned, Enhanced Magic (See text), Coterminous with Prime Material

Enhanced magic: The spells Wish, Teleportation Circle, and Anticipate Teleport are easier to cast. Creatures casting these spells from a spell slot can cast them again freely within 1 minute/level.

The Tippyverse is a realm free from divine interference. It is full of teleportation circles, high-level wizards, and constantly-resetting wish traps. Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.

Oh and, something something permission granted.

The Alto Arenas

There are many planes dedicated to war. From the blood-drenched fields of the Gray Wastes, to the endless slog of futility of Acheron, to the glorious and triumphant battlefields of Ysgard, many planes dedicate themselves to both the highs and lows of warfare. But only one dedicates itself to combat. At a point in the cosmology which is only barely tangential to these many planar battlegrounds, yet more apparently coterminous with the Material, lie the Alto Arenas.

The Alto Arenas can be accessed ritually at any place dedicated to combat. On the remains of a battlefield, at the entrance to a gladiatorial arena, in the training hall of a dojo, or anywhere on planes which are constantly wracked by war; any such location will do. The ritual is known to those who would dedicate themselves to combat, and takes roughly one hour to prepare. When complete, a portal appears, from which emerges one of the plane's natives (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=19000562&postcount=18), bedecked in impressive yet functional armor. In order to access the portal, a would-be entrant must defeat this opponent in one-on-one combat. This is the only known means of accessing the plane.

Geography

The Alto Arenas are a collection of seemingly independent landscapes and landmasses. Entry into the plane places the traveler in the center of a great metropolis. Several areas of this metropolis are demarcated by translucent red walls. There are numerous arenas, dojos, and other training grounds, as well as various inns, homes, and business. Particularly prosperous is the industry of crafting, buying, and selling arms and armor from across the planes.

Roads lead out of the metropolis, and into seemingly empty space. In fact, these roads lead to the various other landscapes in the plane, each as diverse and varied as the next. Few have ever chronicled all of the landscapes the Alto Arenas have to offer, but such places have been known to include: A labyrinth, which stretches as far as the eye can see, boasting elaborate traps, sharp corners fit for ambushes, and wide circular junctions fit for combat. A vast, lush jungle, with snaring vines, deadly quicksand, and trees so thick one can walk across the canopy. A mountain with a peak so high as to be invisible to the naked eye, with jagged stones, sheer faces, and broad twilit summits. A mysterious cube, seemingly floating in the air, with gravity always pointing to its surface. It is massive, containing elaborate tunnels and pitted faces, allowing one to fight one's enemies from all sides, and even from above. A bizarre bubble, in which gravity loses all meaning at all. Within, visitors to the plane find themselves able to move purely by thought, and can engage in combat in all three dimensions.Still others exist, each enabling visitors to enjoy new and exciting ways to train in the arts of combat. Each is surrounded in a translucent red barrier, offering a unique protection to those within (see below).

Natives

The Alto Arenas are not an Outer Plane in the traditional sense, and lack petitioners. However, many beings from across the planes call the Arenas home, or at least visit for extended periods. In particular, many Altovilla (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=19000562&postcount=18) call the plane home, and it is from these beings that the plane derives its name. The plane is arguably a neutral zone between cosmic powers, although altercations are known to happen outside of the protection of the walls.

Planar Traits

Variable Gravity: Gravity is generally normal, with the exception of certain unusual battlefields.

Fast Time: Time passes differently within the Alto Arenas. For each week that passes within the plane, one day passes in the outside world. This makes the plane a perfect training ground.

Special Trait - Save Points: The translucent red barriers are a peculiar trait, unique to the plane. Upon passing through, one's status - health, equipment, ability scores, and all - is preserved in the memory of the plane. If one dies within one of these areas, he awakens 1d4 rounds later just outside of his point of entry, in precisely the same state as he was when he first entered. However, the wall then becomes opaque and impassable to him for 24 hours. Corpses within these areas instantly dematerialize, along with any equipment or items they may have brought into the area. Note that this protection does not exist outside of the walls; those who die beyond their protection are treated as having died normally.

Entrance and Egress: Entrance into the plane occurs only via ritual (described above), and places the entrant at the Grand Gates, in the middle of the central metropolis. Egress can be made from the Grand Gates, and returns the traveler to his point of origin.

I specifically designed it to be open-ended so that any DM could create any kind of battlefield. I also made the save points finite, and the plane require a long ritual, so that people couldn't simply hop into the plane if injured, get themselves killed, and grab a full heal out of it.

The fast time trait was to get a Hype-Ebola Mime Chamber vibe out of it.

EDIT: Is that even something that anyone needs to worry about?

Well the Gray Wastes are already a huge demon v devil battleground (which are the two sides, daemons being mercenaries which turn coats as often as most people change clothes) and I don't see anything that makes it more of a problem than usual. And the thing stopping it is that the rules don't actually give a way to do it other than DM decides they like the idea so they allow it (I may have toyed with it as a potential campaign plot in one game, but they decided to deal with the multiverse threatening one instead of the hints that something was trying to overthrow the aristocracy of the lower planes, though that might be because I ended up not having the time to stat the metroids that were supposed to be the big hint).

Auras and Planar Alignment traits are two separate things. One works with Detect Evil the other gives penalties to mental ability checks based upon your alignment when on the plane.

Eh, knock yourself out. I can't see why it would be any stronger than any other weapon out there unless it's a plot point in a campaign. I'd imagine they end up swapping weapons around all the time. If it was going to make something truly evil, somebody would have done it by now.

The Quasi-Elemental Plane of Feigned Snow

Inhabitants

The vast majority of the "inhabitants" are those who are able to create food and water for themselves, and the illusory snow elementals that roam the plains of the plane.

Cosmological Traits

There is only one entrance and exit to this plane to any other. The plane is semi-sentient, and can actually take steps to entice adventurers into its portal with images of gold and glory, all with an over tone of a beautiful snowy landscape. The plane does not like to feel lonely, so it often hides the portal, as soon as someone steps inside, stops watching it. It often changes the feel and look of the region of the plane to best appease the now trapped inhabitants, though it greatly prefers the snowy aesthetic. Unfortunately, the plane has not learned how to create food. This soon leads to the plane getting lonely again.

Variable Gravity
In the plane of Feigned Snow, everyone feels like a weight's been lifted off their shoulders because of the beauty, and behave as though the gravity was Light. This is all in their minds, and only affects living creatures. Non living objects still suffer from full gravity.

Normal Time

Alterable Morphic with Static regions
Most of the plane seems to be able to be changed, but in reality, can't. For example, even though it looks like you broke down that wall of ice, and you can't even feel it, it's still there.
Other places, like the portal, are perfectly alterable.

Mildly Positive-Dominant
Beauty, fake or otherwise, has a overall goody-goody feel to it.

Mildly Chaotic and Good-Aligned

Also, how is the Tormlet you sensei? Technically you're the first Junior Tormlet, so you're the "first one."

Well, LP isn't a Junior Tormlet. He's a regular Tormlet.

Both are true statements.

LP refers to me as Izzie occasionally, which is weird because I had an awesome rat named Izzie a while back and Izze is my 3rd favorite soda.
That I do. It's affection, I promise.

EDIT: Also, LP hasn't gone and posted a permissions list yet. I'll go through and compile one if I feel like it. Dinner is soon though.
I've had a crazy busy week/weekend. I'll get to this soon.

Joking aside, let me see if I understand your question: "If an Altovilla married a Lashunta, what are her stats?" Ignoring for a moment the fact that the question is fairly tangential to this thread, I would have to say, "Whatever the daughter's player rolled on them." Half-Altovilla is not a race I've examined, stat-wise. We're talking about a hypothetical within a fantasy at this point. I got nothin'.

The Quasi-Elemental Plane of Words

The Quasi-Elemental Plane of Words is a plane that theoretically exists somewhere between the plane of air, the plane of water, and the plane of law. It is said to be the place where the creator of all hid the language of true speech, to keep the nascent gods that started cropping up in his tidy words from abusing that in addition to their divine powers. It is theorized that the plane is discreetly connected to all planes, and is the home to all words that exist or could exist, and that spells such as comprehend languages and tongues tap into it's perfect knowledge of all languages. Another theory states that the Quasi-Elemental Plane of Words was created by a truenamer who went by Jormengand when they spoke their own true name so perfectly that the universe had to acknowledge perfection of the craft beyond divinity, and that it exists as both a testament to that skill, and as a means for Jormengand to continue enforcing standardized meanings of words throughout the multiverse.

In any case, to step into the Plane of Words is to walk into a place where words hold ultimate truth. Where grammar matters, spelling counts, and being auto corrected might include temporarily misplacing some of your vital organs. Everything is defined by words, and thus by the conversation you are having while on the plane. Yes, internal monologues count. If a subject is heavy, so too will be it's participants. If a subject is a downer, you may find yourself sinking into the floor. If a subject is light, and so on. Be wary of emotional outbursts here, they might be your death.

If one can successfullly speak their own truename on the plane of words, they will add it to the lexicon of the multiverse. This will likely have unintended consequences, and most Truenamers are unwilling to risk it just to see what happens.

Inhabitants

Truenamers who can speak their names backwards, forwards, upsidedown, and inside out can find their way to this plane from their raw mastery of Truespeech. Others tend to use a conjunctive gate, because it's easier. Most other people steer clear of this plane, and there are few people who actually live on it full time. Most come to visit it to seek further insight into the meaning of words, or to have a surreal trip without resorting to drugs. It is said that if anyone comes to the Plane of Words to erroneously change definitions so that they will cascade outwards to harm the multiverse with their perverted meanings, that the Jormengand will appear to insist upon the truth and punish the interloper.

Cosmological Traits

Subjective Gravity- Some subjects are heavy, others are light. Some subjects have no gravity at all, while others suck the gravity away from anything around them. Gravity depends entirely on the subject of one's conversation in this plane. So, yes, someone Can be crushed to death by the weight of their own emotions, hubris, or tone.

Variable Time- Some subjects are fun and light, causing time to pass quickly for those speaking. Other subjects are dull and boring, causing time to pass even slower for those listening. Why yes, a professor could have time passing faster for themselves than the students they are talking to in the same room.

Resistantly Morphic- To change anything on the Plane of Words requires the consent of the most authoritative of wordsmiths currently present. If there are no truenamers, this defaults to people who write dictionaries, then, lacking those, it defaults to the person who knows the most words. Changing things in the plane of words requires changing of definitions (such as expanding or narrowing them to suit your needs).

Lawful Aligned- If there's too much chaos, words cease to have meaning and conversations stop making sense. To prevent fish wobble lichtenstein, the plane is stongly lawfully aligned.

Oooh, I got one for Marlowe!

Passage of the Many
The Passage of the Many is a strange Demiplane that came into existance when someone tried to use mordenkeinen's disjunction on a Well of Many Worlds while someone was stepping through it. The Well of Many Worlds pulled itself into the Astral Plane and split the traveller into four separate versions of himself. The Passage moves around through the Astral Plane occasionally intercepting planar travelers. Now, whenever someone tries to travel from one plane to another, there is a slight chance that they take a detour through the Passage of Many.

Due to the warped nature of this Demiplane, any traveller who passes through becomes split into 4 beings of similar characteristics but of differing alignments. The original remains unaffected but you must roll randomly to determine the alignments of the copies. These copies are sent to Sigil, the Material Plane, or an outer plane that matches one of their alignments.

Geography

The Passage of Many is invisible from the outside and cannot be deliberately found short of a wish or miracle cast in conjunction with a gate spell. From the inside, it appears as a series of tunnels that lead off in different directions. The traveller seems to make a decision on which way to go, but in reality all paths are chosen and a separate copy travels down each path.

Planar Traits

Normal Gravity

Normal Time

Mildly Chaotic Alignment

Fear not Elric. The entrance to the plane is guarded by true dragons of sleep, the reason no one has seen it before is because no one has made it! That is why I suggest we launch an expedition full of 20th level elf wizards! Along with two clerics and a crusader.

I like how if you have an effective team, it allows you to multiply your combat potential. Once you get heal of course. You can handle several more armies as long as you don't have wizards. In Neophoenix's defense they feel the same way about pretty much all prepared casters as being a prepared caster pushes you towards "scry one day, prep second day" style gameplay, which seriously slows things down. You're Welcome.

As for all this talk of monks, I'm sure the monk npc from a 'fight the invasion of undead' game I was in is probably epic level by now. He started out by being a random encounter in one on one combat with my soulknife, and gracefully accepted his loss when my soulknife interpreted 'mindblade' and 'thrown mindblade to face with psionic shot and psychic strike' as natural weapons for their duel. Then when we went to kind of asia, he swam there. And punched zombies whales along the way. And it was only after we got back to europeishland and were fighting undead for a while that Jaques Channe managed to catch back up to the party, by which point he was a high level monk who had swam around the known world and punched many a zombie whale and other sea faring undead.

And I don't think I've ever been in a game where we slowed down so a wizard could scry one day and prepare the next. Granted, most games I've been in have involved emergency situations that kept our characters busy and gave us exactly enough downtime to rest, most of the time, when we were running super low on resources.

oh, so your saying i have a reasonable bias against wizards? Good to hear.

Don't be silly, the only reasonable bias against wizards is not wanting to have to admit that they can build a castle better than you, without laborers, and for less money, and faster.

Wait, what are we talking about? I thought this was the thread about making planes for people? Well, time to roll up my sleeves and make another!

The Quasi-Elemental Plane of Wizardists

Commonly confused for the Quasi Elemental Plane for Wizard Supremecists, the Quasi Elemental Plane of Wizardists is where people who are prejudiced against wizards meet in pointy robes to plot the downfall, comeuppance, revenge, or what have you against wizards. Some of them are rather benign, wanting only to show up a wizard who has slighted them, while others are quite fanatical in their wiz-hate and will do everything in their power to convince others that wizards are to be beaten to death on sight and their bodies either burned to ash or roasted on an open fire that one might eat of their bodies to gain their demonic powers for oneself.

Inhabitants

The Quasi Elemental Plane of Wizardists is inhabited by people who don't like wizards but managed to find their way to the plane somehow anyway. Some of them focused on their hate so much that their respective prime material plane couldn't handle the negative vibes and dumped them into the Quasi-Elemental Plane of Wizardists rather than deal with it. Others managed to find their way through gates, portals, or planeshifting. Some of them are actually ghosts that wandered over through the ethreal plane on foot ('the long way'). All inhabitants of the plane of Wizardists that are Wizardists may freely reform portions of the lane into beating sticks. These sticks become more potent in the presence of wizards, gaining a point of enhancement bonus per effective caster level of the wizard. The wizard's most effective caster level is used for this calculation, so if they have a 30 caster level for fire spells, but only 5 levels of wizard, the 30 counts.

Qualities

Hate Based Gravity- The bigger a bigot is, the more gravity they have in this plane. This only counts if they are Wizardist and with regards to their Wizardism, however. So being a minor wizardist but a vehement racist does not give someone greater gravity than someone who is not a racist but moderately wizardist.

Time- It passes at the speed of hate on this plane. If someone needs a sanctuary within which to plot their revenge against a wizard, this plane will accomodate them by speeding or slowing time for that person as much as they need to for their wizardist aims. If, however, that person has a change of heart, or loses their wizardist hatred, the plane will cause them to advance to venerable age category, grow a long white beard, and have a pointy hat stuck on their head that they cannot remove. For more casual travelers passing through the plane or convening to discuss their wizard hate, the plane ensures that they leave at the time most convenient for them to have left the plane.

Hate-Malleablility- As mentioned, any wizardist on the plane can reach into it's makeup and draw forth a blunt instrument with which to beat a wizard, and the blunt instrument gains an enhancement bonus based on the caster level of wizards in it's proximity. The plane also accomodates Wizardists by providing them with comfy chairs, tasty snacks, fireplaces and inns as needed, and even places to sleep.

Magic- Wizards find their magic limited to spells which allow them to leave the plane. If they attempt to use magic that is not directly involved in them leaving the plane (or as direct as their ability allows) then the plane transforms the magic into a beating stick and slaps the wizard with it for lethal damage. Clerics and other spellcasters may only cast spells here as long as they are wizardists, and have their magic unimpeded while on this plane. Any wizard entering the plane has their magic items suppressed and ongoing magical effects supressed for the duration of their stay. The plane also makes all Wizards glow bright colors, and anyone on the plane knows that this means the person is a wizard.

The lack of production is the genesis of this thread's downfall. I better make a plane before it shifts my alignment. I hope you're ready to rock (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_oFiNdp8UQ), Illyahr.

The Quasi-Elemental Plane of Flaming Riffs
The plane of flaming riffs is entirely dedicated to the three true virtues, the greatest of which is rock and roll. Located between the positive energy and fire elemental plane, "Flaming Riffs" is almost entirely dominated by the largest venue in the great wheel. Rockers and other musicians play their heart out 24/7 365 days a year. The plane is not only a venue for music, however, it also has a backstage area for a musician to spend time with his groupies and a large parking lot to party before the big gig.

Inhabitants
"Flaming Riffs" is inhabited by it's own form of petitioners known as "groupies". The groupies listen to music and sing their praises to the performers greatest hits. Not only do their praises grant the performer even greater morale when preforming, some of the other planes have literally heard their cheering across the planes. Mechanus has put in a formal noise complaint against Flaming Riffs, in fact.

It is said that once per year, Illyahr, the greatest bard to have ever walked the prime material, plays a gig for a week straight. This week is known to the groupies as "Ragnarock'n'roll". It is also said that all bards across the planes gain bonuses to their ability to shred while Illyahr is playing.

Planar Traits

Normal Gravity: With exceptions to some righteous hairdos. Or is that just a +1 can of reverse gravity hair spray?
Normal Time: Rock is meant to be enjoyed at its own pace.
Mildly Positive-Dominant: Don't harsh the mellow, man.
Not Aligned: You can't put an alignment restriction on rock.
Special Trait: While a performer is playing an instrument within Flaming Riffs, all groupies are considered both under the effects of Hero's Feast and a Bard's Fascinate class feature.

The Endless Tavern (Socratov if you couldn't tell)

Somewhere within the astral exists the Endless Tavern, one half inn and one half demiplane. As a demiplane there is no exterior to the Font of Poetry, instead it exists as a massive series of twisting corridors, bed rooms, staircases, wine cellars, kitchens, and common rooms. The sounds of festivities can be heard throughout its halls, yet the majority of the patrons seem strangely bland and dull of eye. As you wander the Endless Tavern one can find myriad architectural styles and designs.

Inhabitants

The majority of inhabitants of the Endless Tavern are the Revelers, a race of outsider native to the Tavern which take the form of humanoid patrons. They have little purpose save merriment and experiencing the tavern. Other inhabitants are the Brewers, strange bee-like humanoids which live in the cellars of the tavern and produce its wines and ales. The third native species are the Tenders, shapeshifting outsiders who serve the role of barkeep and innkeeper for the Tavern's various main rooms and who use their magic to maintain the order of the place. The Revelers are controlled by the will of the Brewers and the Tenders, and it is said the inhabitants of the Tavern feed off of revelry devouring piece by piece a visitor's ability to feel the heights of passion.

In addition to the natives some adventurers have taken to living in the Tavern, or in killing a Tender and stealing his bar and running it.

Role in the Wheel:

The Endless Tavern is said to open onto every single Prime Material world which has developed to the point of having taverns, as well as all major planar cities. Adventurers have even claimed to have used the Tavern to bridge cosmologies, moving between Eberron and Greyhawk this way, some even claim to have used it to escape the Demiplane of Dread. Whatever the truth, the Endless Tavern can be used as a potent bridge between planes. In some places this even results in armed contingents, such as the Dis entrance which is held defensively by the baatezu.

Planar Traits:

Normal Gravity
Normal Time
Mildly Neutral Aligned
Divinely Morphic
Impeded Magic: Evocation, Illusion, Enchantment, and any spells with an alignment descriptor. The natives are unaffected by this trait.

But at least we now have planes and the like. Though some of us aren't weapons, vestiges and/or spells/invocations yet.

Yeah, but I spent most of my years in the homebrew section and only wandered into D&D 3e/3.5e/d20 like a tourist. :smalltongue:

Edit: Invocations are still one of my favourite types of magic, simply because of the immense hilarity that comes from "can take out my eye and have it walk around as a spider" as an ability, and then just constantly using it forever.

See, the reason you don't grasp how the Warlock works most of the time is that the Warlock works all of the time. Every one one of their invocations can be used whenever the Warlock wants to as long as they have a standard action to spare. Some are instantaneous, some of level-scaling durations (mostly the ones that replicate spell effects), and some last for 24 hours (and thus might as well be continuous). The only exception is Eldritch Glaive, which is a full-round action because it's for making full attacks.

Yep, it's what makes warlocks fun. They may not be very powerful or versatile, but there is no book keeping at all. If it's in your ability list or it's an invocation you have chosen, you can use it whenever you want.

The Quasi-Elemental Plane of Unlife
The plane of unlife is placed between the positive and negative energy planes. This plane is devoted to housing many forms of intelligent undead and conversely, many forms of deathless creatures. Also known as the plane of balance, each half of the plane is permeated by positive or negative energy. It's origin lost to man, it is theorized that Kelemvor created this plane to house powerful beings that lived a half life.

Inhabitants
The primary inhabitants of this plane are powerful undead such as Vampire Lords and good creatures who have been granted a second (unending) life, but it is also home to many Deadnaughts (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=19322099&postcount=147) or Risen Martyrs who hold exceptional power.

More notable inhabitants include the original Deadnaught, a being whose name has been lost to time and who is rarely seen.

Planar Traits

Normal Gravity

Strongly Positive Dominant
Strongly Negative Dominant
Mildly Neutral Aligned
Special Trait: Living is weakness on the plane of unlife and all creatures with a constitution score take a -4 to their constitution while on the plane.

I, PsyBomb (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=19545861&postcount=23), grant permission.

The Quasi-Elemental Plane of Subsystem Assistance

Psionics, Maneuvers, Akasha...All of these new systems have driven players and DMs mad with having to learn their myriad ins and outs. Fortunately, a haven exists, a plane where pilgrims may travel to partake in the knowledge of an ancient sage with a love of psionics and bombs. A land of verdant fields coated in tall grasses and flowing rivers, with plenty of open space and raw weapon materials so that wanderers will have the freedom to learn at their own pace, the plane is viewed as one of the most serene and intellectual locations in the multiverse. Immense monoliths and bluffs spring from the ground, often covered in obscure bits of lore for others to partake in. Brimming with information that will guide those willing to new levels of enlightenment, The QEPoSA has been the salvation of many an adventure.

Inhabitants

The sages of the grass, garbed in blue and always ready to help passerby, are the plane's primary denizen. Carrying spears, they are well-versed in the ways of psionics, akasha, and the Path of War, and are more than glad to share their knowledge and experience with those who are willing to learn.

Of course, many powerful beasts across the plane against which travelers can hone their skills, behemoths against which they can pit their training with the new subsystems. It is said that these creatures were expressly created by the sages as trials for the entrants and for themselves, and are always there for those seeking a challenge.

Cosmological Traits

Time passes quickly in this plane, so that entrants will have more time to learn. Much of the plane is a pristine field, and you can always hear the sounds of a flute echoing faintly in the distance. The clouds swirl continuously above, heralding events that are occurring elsewhere in the multiverse. Finally, the immense bluffs showcase ever-changing information and symbols that people are free to read from at any time.

Subjective Directional Gravity: The plane is built on ideals of nontraditional combat, which of course offers a great degree of experimentation. The shifting perspectives of the plane helps to develop this sense of growth, enabling tricks never thought possible elsewhere.

Flowing Time: Time travels at a much quicker pace here. A man can undergo 5 years of training and step back to learn that only 5 minutes have passed on his home plane.

Self-Contained Shape: Everything always comes together in the end, and so too does this plane

Alterable Morphic: The world is to be sculpted by its inhabitants

Mildly Positive-Dominant: Nobody has ever learned anything without a few bumps along the way.

Mildly Neutral-Aligned: All may partake in the knowledge of the sages.

Magic-Impeded: Traditional vancian magic does not work as well as it would elsewhere. You came to learn new tricks, after all. All attempting to cast a spell (but not manifest a power) must make a concentration check (DC 15 + the level of the spell). Failure means the spell is wasted.

Other traits: All creatures on the plane receive a +5 bonus to knowledge checks pertaining to subsystems, and may make such checks untrained.

Can I volunteer as a part time inhabitant on this plane?

They've asked for it, you know. It would almost be rude not to.

Really, it's just a matter of being a good host.

Go on. Do it. Release restraint, level 1. Crusnik 02, power output 30%. Big O, showtime. FTO, go.

Zhu Li, do the thing.
