I've been invited to play Magic with some friends of a friend of mine. The problem is that the oldest format they play is Modern, and I stopped playing in the early naughties a few sets before the cutoff for the beginning of Modern.
My favorite deck is Land Grant Sligh with Kird Apes and Taigas.
Could someone please recommend me a decklist for a Modern deck that has a playstyle as similar as possible to the above deck? I'd like the deck to be mostly Red if possible, but that's not a dealbreaker if you can get a feel closer to what I want with a different color or color mix. I'd prefer that the budget come in under $100, but my absolute budget cap is $500 for the deck+sideboard.
