Prophecy on Belkar

Do Halflings change their last names when they're married? And if so, to the male or female line? Wondering if there's a loophole about Belkar Bitterleaf drawing his last breath. (There would have to be some fairly serious reforming before that is even a remote possibility, of course.)

A.) That ignores the other prophecies about his death.

B.) There's at least two other threads right now on Belkar's death and its relation to the prophecy. Either one of those might be a more appropriate place to post theories than to make a new thread.
