Hey, so I'm going into an Iron Kingdoms game and I'm making a 4th level beguiler moving into Master of Masks from the Complete Scoundrel. I want be constantly wearing a mask so that no one sees my real face. I have checked out the masks provided with the class and others from various books, but my gm is allowing me to create my own. Of course as a result I'm having some serious creativity block, so I was hoping I could get some help here. I already posted on the dnd page, but no one was really willing to think outside the books. So, please, if you have an idea of some mask my character could make/buy, that would be stellar! Also, if you're familiar with IK, keep it in mind...but if not don't worry about it!! Thanks!

Well, the easy move would be to rename stuff. Just look up any Wondrous Item you think would fit well in a mask form, and change the item name accordingly. For example, Hat of Disguise (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/wondrousItems.htm#hatofDisguise) becomes a Mask of Disguise, Goggles of Night (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/wondrousItems.htm#gogglesofNight) become the Mask of Night, Circlet of Blasting (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/wondrousItems.htm#circletofBlastingMinor) the Mask of Blasting, et cetera.

I think you'd like a Mask of Persuasion (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/wondrousItems.htm#circletofPersuasion), even though I have a bit of trouble imagining how something that covers your face helps your social abilities. That is, when talking to someone other than a Menite.

Also, check the Crystal Masks (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/items/universalItems.htm#crystalMasks) from the Expanded Psionics Handbook. Other Universal Items (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/items/universalItems.htm) might fit the bill as well. If your GM objects to the items' psionicity (psionicness?), just ask him to hand-wave them to being magical.

What kind of a niche should the mask fill?

Well, it started as just a character trait, but then I wanted a mask that could do something really cool and kind of out of the ordinary. My hope was/is someone would come up with something really neat that will spark my imagination.

Hmmmm Hows this?

Mask of Anonymity (Yes this does seem redundant but read before judging:smalltongue: )

This Small, plain white mask has a completely blank face without eyeholes or other features. However as soon as you see it, the the wearer and the mask dissapear from view.

This magical mask fits snugly on any creatures face without any sort of of string it just magically adheres, though it can be removed by the wearer easily enough. Despite not having holes cut into its smooth white surface the wearer cn see and breath as normal. In addition to hiding t wearer's facial features, it also forces any creature that succeeds on a spot check against the wearer of the mask to re roll and take the new result (making it more likely to fail).

Price: 3,000 gp (I didn't use the pricing guidelines I just gave it this price arbitrarily).

What about a mask of the anarchist? gives you the ability to sneak attack for 2d6 damage and swift invisiblity once every 1d4 turns. the mask looks like a guy fawkes mask, much like V from V for vendetta. the wearer must be chaotically aligned though.

Here's a darker more sinister one.

The mask of Night Horrors

This mask appears to be just another fancy dress ball joker's laughing face but every time you look at it an unsettling shiver runs through your body.

This mask when worn allows to make use the Phantasmal Killer spell once per day. Additionally, anyone who sees the mask must make a will save or become shaken until one hour after they can no longer see the mask.

Price: Pretty expensive but I'm not sure exactly how much it should cost.

try over 8000 gp just for the phantasmal killer. you need to put a caster level for Phantasmal killer. it needs to be at least 4th
