Say I wanted a cursed item, i.e. Helm of Opposite Alignment, with a more potent save DC and I'm willing to shell out the gold value. Is there a way I can increase its 'potency' with some enchantment lying around somewhere or something?

No enchantment I'm aware of, but adding abilities to magic items (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/creatingMagicItems.htm#addingNewAbilities) and caster level (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/magicItemBasics.htm#casterLevel) seem to say that you can craft it with a higher caster level to increase the DC. I have no idea how they go from CL 12 to DC 15 though, so the increase is up to your DM.

Errrrr thats a very good question. Well..
12X = 15
X = 1.25

12X = 4000
X = ~333

so
1.25X = DC
333X = GP

Assuming the DM allows it to scale at all, and I guess you could figure all that for whatever cursed item you were dealing with. Seems awful math-y for D&D though, and that's saying something.

Edit: Thinking about it more, is it wiser to have the gold factor be relative to the CL or the DC?

I don't think cursed items really have that great a coverage on pricing formulas. The highest DC you'd be looking at is DC 23 if you heightened whatever spell effect to 9th level. The cloak of poisonousness seems to be an exception to this with a DC of a whopping 28, which I have no idea how they arrived at.

That would probably do my purposes, I'm just hoping to dupe a warrior-type with a poorer will save into putting it on and not saving out on like, a nat 14.
