Ooo... tough decision. The 2-pager where the whole thing is a parody of a Monty Python sketch (with references to 2 or 3 others), or the 4-pager where Miko is first unveiled?

How to choose, how to choose.

136, I choose you! ::pika::

What can I say? I have to go for the comedy.

As great as #136 is, what with its Monty Python goodness, #200 is just incredible in terms of plot, action, and art. Well done and one of the best strips.

So hard to decide...

200 is just plain epic but 136 has the Monty Python references and since I just (literaly 10 minutes ago) watched the sketch that it's based on, i'm voting for 136.

Monty Python For The Win!

Honestly, Monty Python jokes aren't that great... and this one wasn't the best one ever. I find it hard to believe it even got the top of the 50, I'm voting Miko. PLOT for the win!

Must ... vote ... against ... recycled ... python

Oof! One is funny, and one is just awesome. Both very good, but in very different ways.

200, and not just because it quotes Herman's Hermits. Such a good start to the story arc...

When it comes to D&D, epicness topples comedy. 200 has my vote.

Well, 136 is very funny. But 200 has a lot more action and plot and it introduces an important character. So that's the one that has my vote.

It's one of those almost impossible to call ones. But I'm with the python camp. Shear brilliance in the usurping and imitation of classic comedy. An entertainment 101. Whilst a great strip, 200 is just that - a strip. It has the thor punchline but that is all that really did it for me in that. True it is a great piece of plot - but their are better examples throught the strip which are up for winning.

"I think you're drifting into another sketch, sir". Priceless.

Hello to you also!

And yeah, I have enough Monty Python when I quote the movie every 5 seconds. So, I'll have to go with epicness.

Meh. Neither one really embodies what I love about oots. There are so many others in the hundred I like a lot more.

That whole part nearly made me laugh as hard as when:

I know, I feel that way too. But I wouldn't break my own rules.

And this must be the first voting thread that has been an amazing success right on the start. Wow. Way to go, people. Way to go. :smallwink:

With my vote (for #200, everyone's already said the reasons so well that I shan't add to them) things are currently EXACTLY LEVEL. What an epic vote!

My personal favourites from this hundred were #103 and #138. But #200 easily beats the crowd to take third spot.

My favorite from 100-200 is 150b, which, sadly, doesn't get included in the votes.

Similarly, my favorite of the first hundred is Schroedinger's Ninja.

Close call, but I'm going to have to give this one to #200 - they're evenly matched in enjoyment value, but 200 wins out because if I sit and reach both five times, it retains MORE enjoyment value.

Seems that #200 got a big advantage now.

Wonder if Miko lovers are too much for the Monty Python camp.

While I greatly enjoyed the humor of #136, I feel you have to go with #200 as it is a more important part of OOTS as a whole vs a joke strip.

200 is a good piece of plot, that exposed Miko for the first time and do a lot of exposition. And you know what? It wasn't really funny. I wasn't pleased to see it win the top 10, let alone the top 50, so I'm voting Python

136 is just too much cribbing to win an award. How much work do you think it takes to adapt a fully written, funny sketch from a well known source of entertainment? 200 is a good solid ORIGINAL comic.

-I also noted that many people refer to 136 as the "monty python one" or something similar. It seems theyre voting for the sketch more than an oots comic... -

I've never watched the sketch which #136 is supposedly based on, so there really was no choice for me. #200 is it.

Much as I love python and #136 is a nice homage, I come here for OOTS goodness and the Giant's own creation. It feels wrong to say the best of 100 comics is not really the Giant's sketch, but a copy of something else.

I vote #200 and Giant all the way!

(although as expected, neither of the top 2 feature in my personal top 10!)
