A Battle Dancer Gains the same Unarmed Strike Damage as a monk is there any reason why taking superior unarmed strike shouldn't allow the player to be considered 4 levels higher in battle dance for unarmed strike damage?

By RAW, it doesn't work because a battle dancer gets a battle dancer's unarmed strike progression, not a monk's unarmed strike progression. However, it would be entirely reasonable to houserule that it does work.

The Battle Dancer has no monk levels, so no, they don't get to treat their unarmed strike as 4 levels higher. However, Superior Unarmed Strike does give them an unarmed strike damage that scales by character level, so this makes dipping Battle Dancer viable, particularly for small-sized brawlers (Superior Unarmed Strike's damage is not adjusted for size).

It would be a very reasonable house-rule to allow Superior Unarmed Strike to treat Battle Dancer's unarmed damage as 4 levels higher, though.
