I'm looking for prepainted miniatures suitable for a fantasy campaign (no guns, robots, etc). I'm hoping to turn this into a resource other players/DMs will find helpful as well. Can folks list websites where they get their prepainted miniatures, and what brands/sets come prepainted? I will edit this to compile the suggestions. Also, tips for getting cheap prepainted minis (or in bulk) are welcome!

Websites: (no particular order)

http://www.miniaturemarket.com/
http://www.tcgplayer.com/
http://www.amazon.com/
http://www.ebay.com/

Brands and editions: (no order, may be different size scales or require re-basing)
Mage Knight (most editions)
Pathfinder Battles (all editions)
Heroclix: Lord of the Rings and Hobbit editions
D&D Attack Wing
D&D Dungeon Command (all editions)
D&D Icons of the Realms
Certain Reaper minis (https://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/Pre-painted)

I see questions about minis all the time and the first thing any thread on them should say is: They cost money. A decent chunk of money for a pre-painted collection. If you don't have some excess cash flow, get cut-outs or something. Cheap minis are not a thing unless all you want is some skeletons and goblins.

Check your local nerd shops, mine has a bucket of single minis (poorly painted or bare) for $1 each. You have to dig but once in a while you'll find something okay (more so if you're willing to strip and repaint it).

Cheap being a relative term. I agree, miniatures (and prepaints especially) are not a dime a dozen, but some are certainly cheaper than others.

My family would tell me that I have an addiction to miniatures.

Here is another site that is good for minis: www.popularcollections.com

One thing I will add- look for discontinued miniature games.

I picked up boxes of MageKnight miniatures for really cheap. Yes, I had to rebase them, but I found a cheap way to do that as well. Then I just kit-bashed my way to the miniatures I wanted.

You might be able to do that with Star Wars miniatures commons and uncommons as well. All my orcs are hairy since I got so many wookiee minis cheaply.

Good suggestions, Brookshw, dysprosium, and lt_murgen.

Are all Mage Knight minis prepainted?

/looks at troll brawler, 10 hour paint job, that a player just knocked off its base by stomping it down on the table like it was a gavel or something last session.

No, no they are not though I believe many are and have been for a while now. I'm not a great source to confirm re: those that are though.

To my knowledge Mage Knight are all pre painted. Having been a Heroclix player for many years they have some decent minis for D&D especially w/ the Lord of the Rings sets. If you are going for commons you can find quite a few for cheap.
Some sites I use

http://www.strikezone.com
http://www.coolstuffinc.com

as well as the sites already listed above

Also if you happen to be looking for maps I definitely recommend Heroclix maps as there are quite a lot of them and they vary in style a lot and they are grid based

Ouch. That hurts. But, I do thank you for the info.

That site doesn't seem to be for buying miniatures or other game-related stuff. I do appreciate the other suggestions in your post, though.

For finding cheap "unique" fantasy monsters, I've also had a lot of success rebasing Mage Knight mini's. They especially work well for larger humanoids and monsters, as the scale is slightly larger than the D&D minis. So I have mostly D&D minis, but the Mage Knight orcs and monsters really stand out when placed on a battlefield. I thought rebasing would be a pain, but it's easy as hell.
