Would anyone happen to know of a way to get extra starting gold at first level? I'd be playing a factotum

Mercantile Background feat, PGtF, 300 gp extra at character creation. On top of that you get to sell loot for 75% of its value, instead of the standard 50%. Tell your party you can get 60% for the loot instead of 50%, sell it for 75%, split 60% of its value with the party and keep the remaining 15% of its value for yourself.

You could craft most of your own basic equipment by yourself.

If you're allowed PF and traits, Rich Parents gives a hefty increase to 900gp.

This though! But it Brings up some interesting problems. It also appears in the dragon magazine that a feat I'm taking ( celestial scion, dragon 315) is in. The dragon mag version is taken from the faerun campaign setting, would i use the updated one from players guide to faerun?

Yes, you always use the most recent printing of any given thing. Dragon 315 is from January 2004, Player's Guide to Faerun is from March 2004.

Thought so, just wanted to clarify. Those feats together are the biggest helpers for my t.o. build, I'll prolly post it after a few more rules clarification questions
