Rope Dart/Meteor Hammer and bigger than Medium creatures

Rope Dart/Meteor Hammer increases reach to 15' for a Medium creature.
Since Spiked Chain doubles reach on bigger than Medium creatures, does a Rope Dart/Meteor Hammer give me three times the natural reach or just double reach +5'?
It would feel very underwhelming in the second case.

Is this for Pathfinder? If so, the meteor hammer just gives reach (in fortress mode, and no extension in meteor mode), and the rope dart just has 20' range, with no extension based on size*.

*Presumably an oversight by the game's designers, since some monsters have longer reach than that range increment.

Im talking about the Rope Dart in Dungeon Magazine #319 for 3.5

It functions as a normal reach weapon, save that it can attack adjacent and triples your reach rather than doubling it.

Thanks, the other option seemed underwhelming. Even tho triple reach on some big creatures is a great increase.
