View Full Version : Pathfinder Trying to Make a Pathfinder Drug Lord

Odds are the current party I'm in will disband, due to some good roleplay ironically.

The DM plans on having us adventure eslewhere in the setting, and he's pretty flexible about what we do in game(very character-driven).

I want to make a drug lord, both salesman and creator. Should I go alchemist or rogue? Are there any other options for this kind of build?

We're gonna start at level 4.

Alchemist (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/alchemist) and Investigator (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/hybrid-classes/investigator) are the go to sciency types, since they're good at making potions, extracts and poisons. Any caster will be pretty good at it though. One particular spell that could be good for simulating drugs is polypurpose panacea (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/p/polypurpose-panacea), although it does specify that it has no negative side effects.

Generally speaking if you've got a high enough craft alchemy you should be able to craft most drugs, poisons, or other alchemical oddities that people might want on the black market.

I think I should lean towards alchemist, I like having more extract uses. But I really don't need the bombs, any suggestions on what archetype I could use?

I second alchemist for the best drug lord in all of Pathfinder. Also, take infusion so you can hand out your extracts, aka "the good stuff".

Even if you don't use them often, Walter White knew how to make explosives. You might not rely on them, but I would be careful to just throw them out the window.

If you want a Tim Leary selling consciousness expansion, consider the Psychonaut. Your bombs do less damage, and you trade out more bomb damage and poison resistance to create drugs that let you talk to the dead, see the future, and other cool trippy stuff.

If you want to be more of the nice guy selling "medicine" consider the Chirugeon. You get to make more curative drugs, and even bring back the recently dead.

If you want to give people the cutting edge "juice" then consider the visionary resarcher. You can give people mutagens(less effective than your personal juice, of course) and resistance to "acid", if you will.

If you are going for the dude who wants to cook up the best street stuff, but is also a bit paranoid and willing to test incredibly dangerous stuff on his friends and random animals, pick the Vivisectionist. You don't even make bombs, you straight shiv people the minute they don't pay up(all while juiced on your mutagen and a couple boosting extracts).
