AKA "No-one can hear you scream in space".
Yes, indeed the second thread of survival is now open!
The rules are still the same as in the original Survival (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41736), and the support thread will be the same support thread (HERE (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41770)).
Even joining will be done in the original recruitement thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41584) (yes, new players can join there).

Somewhere, in deep space, there lies a field of meteors. Huge chunks of rock, floating peacefully through space. In this field, lies a spacecraft. A battered old thing, covered in thick layers of space-dust and rust. In this spacecraft lies a room. A room once inhabited by strange creatures of an advanced society, but now long abandoned. In the centre of this room stands an object: a washing-machine. This too, has not been used in ages, but now, it's lights flicker and the bucket begins to whir, the pipes at the back burst and water pours out onto the floor in a continous stream. There is a clash, a thump and someone curses. This person was Dr. Bath, who hit his head upon appearing inside the bucket of the washing-machine. Two more thumps can be heard, two more curses are uttered. Now RoKAi and Raistlin1040 are in the machine too. The three are pretty cramped up, but that would not be such a problem, if only...if only the door of the washing-machine wasn't stuck...

Oh, you all received a point for going through the washing-machine. Congratz, guys.

New players, please wait for a PM message before you post.

RoKAi
2007-05-06, 07:28 AM
yeah, a point.

I trie to bash the door open (i asume i crept in head first meaning that my feet lie to the door, if not i try to do it with my elbow or by stretching out)

*WOOOO we didn't die howdiego Dr. Bath, raistlin, my friends. I have gone throught the strangest thing. i came to a desk and I went on after eating a candy, I CAN SPEAK ALL LANGUAGES YAY.
Could you help me trying to basj this thing open plz?*

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 07:31 AM
RoKAi: yes, you crept in head first, but you have been twisted around somehow. Also, bashing the door doesn't seem to help very much.

Suddenly, there is a flash and three people appear in the room (but not in the washing-machine).
The three people are Almighty Salmon, Aegeus and Duchess_of_Elysian. All of them are dressed in tuxedos.
Oh, and I suppose them will need a descrition of the rest of the room...
The washing machine is in the centre of the room, and there's water pouring out of it's back, forming a huge puddle on the floor. There's a bench against the east wall and a metal sliding door at the west wall. there seems to be no way of opening the door. There is a sign hung on the washing-machine, but it's completely unreadable. Not that it's not neatly written, it just seems to be written in a different alphabet. The floor is made up out of light green and white tiles in a chessboard pattern, and the walls and ceiling are made up out of some sort of metal.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 09:24 AM
"What the..? Three people cramped in a washing machine?" :smalleek:

I attempt to open the door of the washing machine

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 09:25 AM
Almighty Salmon: You free the poor suckers inside the machine. You notice one of them has a rather big tongue. None of them are dressed properly, and, for some reason, they are all soaked.

Raistlin1040
2007-05-06, 09:27 AM
I step out of the machine.
"Thanks"

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 09:34 AM
"No problem, Uhm. What the heck i'll just ask. What were you three doing inside a washing machine? And whats up with that guy's tongue?

Raistlin1040
2007-05-06, 09:35 AM
"We came from another world. As for the tongue...I have no idea."

RoKAi
2007-05-06, 09:43 AM
hi, I guess its from the candy he ate.
I'm RoKAi and this is my spear ((smiles like Ford Prefect, hoping to make a funny impression))
and thnx for getting us out it was kinda crammed up inthere.
btw, we stepped into a washing machine on a strange island and got in a place not affected by time and space. we went through a door and appeared here.

((trying to get the soap of his hair and out of his eyes))

I attempt to read the sign on the washing machine

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 09:48 AM
RoKAi: It reads "Do Not Touch. Danger!". The others can't read it though.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 09:51 AM
"Wow right.. nice to meet you. You can call me Salmon.

Funnily enough i can never remember where i got that nickname..

Anyway, Suppose i better explain what we're doing here.. Me and my two friends here work for an agency that monitors disruptions in the space-time continuum. We've been sent deep into space to annihilate recent series of disruptions.

RoKAi
2007-05-06, 10:06 AM
hmmm, i wonder why it would be dangerous.

I inspect the washing machine closely and then look for other signs on the walls and/or doors.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 10:08 AM
RoKAi: The washing-machine looks exaclty like the one on the island, except for the sign: it has some lights, a big red button and drawers for water and soap. Oh, another difference are huge amounts of water leaking out of it at the back. And no, there aren't any other signs.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 10:29 AM
I try waving my Giga Geiger Counter around the room, hoping to pick up a disruption.

(If thats possible)

RoKAi
2007-05-06, 10:54 AM
where u got that from salmon, it looks,... giga

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 10:54 AM
Almighty Salmon: there is an enormous amount of disruption around the washing-machine and the three guys who came out of it.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 10:58 AM
"Hm? Oh, this? It comes with the job. Impressive huh? :smallamused: I noticed you reading the sign, can you translate it or something RoKAi?"

Rejakor
2007-05-06, 11:12 AM
Looking around, one of the tuxedo'd, teleporting people says "Ummm... Salmon? Do you remember how to get rid of time/space disruptions? I seem to have forgotten."

RoKAi
2007-05-06, 11:12 AM
I am (not yet actually) able to speak and understand ALL languages.
i can speak pig-latin, draconian and wonka wonka.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 11:14 AM
RoKAi: And read about everything more or less...You're also quite good on the uptake of new languages. Now stop bragging to the other players about it.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 11:15 AM
"Uhm.. No, actually.. i seem to have forgotten most things. But i suppose we should just dispose of it in any way possible.

Salmon looks in his pocket to find two Astronaut Pills and a Dehydrated Water Packet

"I dont think these will help much.."

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 11:17 AM
Salmon: Right you are! "Any way possible" were the exact words used in the job description.

RoKAi
2007-05-06, 11:18 AM
hehe, srry MEN, OK PPLE LETS TAKE A LOOK HOW TO GET OUT OF HERE.
((searching for voice control stuff, buttons, camera's, anything that could help))

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 11:22 AM
RoKAi: ...You don't see anything a first sight. Maybe it would help if you specified where you looked?

Meanwhile, the water keeps rising. All of your feet get soaking wet.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 11:25 AM
"Oh dear, we need to get out of here fast.

We have teleporters. But we also need to destroy this disruption."

RoKAi
2007-05-06, 11:25 AM
at the doors and and the ceiling

also, how do those teleporters work?? If you each grab one of us we might be able to escape.

Rejakor
2007-05-06, 11:31 AM
I look at the back of the washing machine. Is there any way to stop the gushing water?

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 11:32 AM
...No...Your company has teleporters. Non-portable teleporters, which sent you here, but won't be of any use beyond that. check your inventory, you don't have a teleporter. Sorry about the confusion if I wasn't clear about it.

Rejakor: There doesn't seem to be any obvious way of stopping the water. The cause seems to be that one of the metallic pipes in the back has burst, and now it is emitting water at high speed.

Blood
2007-05-06, 11:32 AM
Blood, also wearing a tuxedo, appears in the room. "What the-" He looks down and notices that he's getting sopping wet. "Well that sucks."

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 11:35 AM
"Right then. Let's find a way out of here and fast."

I look around the bench.
How heavy and how big is it?

Rejakor
2007-05-06, 11:36 AM
"Hmm." Rejakor goes and examines the metal bench and sliding door. What is on the other side of it? Are there any controls?

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 11:43 AM
"I have no idea, i thought maybe we could try using the bench as a ram on the door. But considering it's metal.."

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 11:43 AM
Rejakor: There are no controls on the door or anywhere on the walls for that matter (no, not on the ceiling or the floor either...). It seems the bench can be opened though.

Salmon: The bench is stuck to the wall. It too, is made out of metal.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 11:45 AM
"oooh"

I open the bench

Blood
2007-05-06, 11:46 AM
Blood looks down at his pills and water packet, wondering what they do.

Rejakor
2007-05-06, 11:46 AM
Rej: I watch as Salmon opens the bench.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 11:48 AM
Salmon & Rejakor: The bench contains a small space with a roll of metal cable in it.

Blood: The astronaut pills are food, one suffices for a day. The dehydrated water? Well, it's like powder where you need to add water to make soup out of it, only, if you add water here, it becomes water...I suppose you could call it instant water.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 11:50 AM
"A roll of metal cable.. Darnit, i was hoping for a control panel for the door.. but meh.

Im going to search the floor.
I'll look for a trap door or a dropped item or something.

Rejakor
2007-05-06, 11:51 AM
Rej: I pick up the metal cable and say "Hmmm. Well, this isn't as helpful as I thought it would be."

Blood
2007-05-06, 11:52 AM
He wades over to the bench and looks inside as well. Blood tries to pull out the metal cables. "Could be useful."

((How long/heavy are they?))

Raistlin1040
2007-05-06, 11:52 AM
"Give me the cable"

Rejakor
2007-05-06, 11:53 AM
Rej: I look over at the busted pipe. "Well, salmon, we're going to need to get out of here or fix that pipe or we're not going to be fixing any paradoxes."

Could I use the wire to fix it, or bend the pipe back into position?

Rejakor
2007-05-06, 11:54 AM
Rej: I look at Raist. "What? You want the cable? What for?"

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 11:55 AM
Blood: It's 5 metres long, but it's only one roll of cable.

Rejakor: The wire is not a pipe, so no. And since the pipe has burst, bending it won't help either.

Raistlin1040
2007-05-06, 11:56 AM
"Just in case"

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 11:56 AM
"Maybe we could clog up the pipe with something..?"

Rejakor
2007-05-06, 11:57 AM
I walk over and look at the washing machine's controls. Is there some kind of way I could turn off the water?

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 11:58 AM
Rejakor: There's only one button: the red one.

Rejakor
2007-05-06, 11:59 AM
I press it.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 12:00 PM
(Salmon whispers to Rej)

"Y'know we have to destroy disruptions.. well, those three guys have a large amount of disruption coming from them too.. does that mean we have to..?"

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 12:00 PM
Rejakor: The bucket inside the machine spins for a while, and then stops.

Meanwhile, everyone's kneedeep in the water.

Blood
2007-05-06, 12:01 PM
"Those cables could be useful. Let's keep them." Blood tries to estimate how much time they have left with the water's flood rate.

Raistlin1040
2007-05-06, 12:01 PM
I shrug and pick up the cable.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 12:03 PM
Raislin: Rejakor already has it.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 12:03 PM
(repost)

Im going to search the floor.
I'll look for a trap door or a dropped item or something

Rejakor
2007-05-06, 12:04 PM
Rej: I walk over to the sliding door and check it for openings/slots in it that require me to put the cable in thereby using the electrical current to open the door. Also, I try to stomp through the floor.

Rejakor
2007-05-06, 12:06 PM
Rej: Rej says to salmon "I'm more worried about this water. If we don't get out of here we'll drown. We'll decide what to do about the disruptions later."

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 12:06 PM
Rejakor: No openings or anything. also, the cable's just a cable, it doesn't look like it's meant for an electrical circuit. Stomping through the floor doesn't work either. It's too sturdy.

Salmon: You don't find anything.

Rejakor
2007-05-06, 12:07 PM
I look for openings in the roof, or anything we can use for a battering ram.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 12:08 PM
*Salmon nods at Rejakor*

I'm going to examine each wall thoroughly, hoping to find a switch or something.

Blood
2007-05-06, 12:10 PM
Blood hmm's.

((Is the leftover water draining out somewhere?))

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 12:10 PM
Rejakor & Salmon: No such luck, for either of you.

Blood: Nope, that's why it keeps rising.

Rejakor
2007-05-06, 12:11 PM
I step in front of the door and say "Open!"

Blood
2007-05-06, 12:12 PM
((Wait, it's still rising? I thought that when the washing machine stopped, it wasn't rising anymore?))

Blood wades over to the washing machine and looks it over; all sides of it, even on the inside, for anything at all.

Rejakor
2007-05-06, 12:12 PM
I also take the sign on the washing machine. The one I can't read. Perhaps it's meaning will become clear later on.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 12:12 PM
Rejakor:...if only life was that easy...

Blood: Nothing interesting to see...

Raistlin1040
2007-05-06, 12:12 PM
I'll take my spear and tap it on the washing machine.

Rejakor
2007-05-06, 12:13 PM
I push the roller door with all my might and maybe sideways.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 12:14 PM
:smalleek:

"Okay, im getting desperate."

I try using my hands or a part of my tuxedo to cover up the burst pipe

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 12:15 PM
Rejakor: You manage to slide open the door to a crack. the water flows out into the hallway beyond.

Salmon: You get wet(ter).

Rejakor
2007-05-06, 12:16 PM
If someone finds a way out, I help them open it, get it set up, and evacuate. If someone finds a way to drain the water, I help them do that. If a new threat appears after the water is drained and someone else finds a way out, I help them get it set up and evacuate.

((me sleep now))

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 12:16 PM
I'll go and help Rej open the door

Blood
2007-05-06, 12:16 PM
Blood tastes the water.

((Is it hot, cold, soapy, salty, etc.?))

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 12:18 PM
Salmon: The door won't budge any further.

Blood: The water is cold and fresh.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 12:19 PM
"Well atleast we're draining the water out now.."

Maybe we can use Raistlin's spear as a lever to open the door if theres enough space to fit it in.

Blood
2007-05-06, 12:19 PM
"Well we have a supply of freshwater ... although it is probably going to get dirty...Drink up, everyone, while you still can!" Blood begins to drink as much water as he needs, before it all flows out through the crack in the door.

Raistlin1040
2007-05-06, 12:25 PM
Raistlin takes a drink of the water.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 12:29 PM
Salmon drinks some of the water, Then gets back to thinking how to get out of this room.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 12:30 PM
The water has been largely drained away and now only covers your feet. It is only rising slowly now.

RoKAi
2007-05-06, 12:31 PM
I too take a drink of water, then I go to the dore and search for something that looks like a micro, if i find one I say into the micro "open" in the same tongue as the words on the sign on the washing machine.
If I find none I still say it when standing close to the door.
I use my loincloth to try and stuff the bursted pipe for a bit

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 12:33 PM
RoKAi: There is nothing to be found on the walls... The door doesn't open when you say "open", and stuffing the tube doesn't really seem to help either (your loincloth gets flushed out by the pressure).

Blood
2007-05-06, 12:33 PM
After he's done drinking, Blood goes back over to the washing machine to see if the water is any different at the source.

((There is still water coming out the back, correct? It's coming out of the bursted pipe? And the water is still rising, even though the door is partly opened?))

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 12:34 PM
Blood: Yup, you're right on all three counts. The water is no different at the source though.

Blood
2007-05-06, 12:36 PM
Blood tries to trace the pipe in both directions. One end into the washing machine, the other end...?

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 12:36 PM
Ed: If we used the bench as a battering ram on the door. would it do much?

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 12:37 PM
Blood: Both ends end up in the washing machine...oddly enough. There IS a second tube though, that dissapears into the floor. This tube seems much more sturdy even.

Salmon: The bench is welded to the wall.

Blood
2007-05-06, 12:40 PM
Blood puts his hand over the second tube, trying to sense if there is moving water in it. If there isn't, he tries to see how close he can come to pulling it out of the floor.

Raistlin1040
2007-05-06, 12:41 PM
I'll use my spear to pry open the door more.

Dr. Bath
2007-05-06, 12:42 PM
"Mnph sfther amph" <hello people> (I'm still getting used to having aa giant tongue.

I stuff one of my vests into the break in the tube, hopefully stopping or at least slowing the flow of water. I then try to wedge my spear into the crack in the door and lever it open some more.

I also fill any of my empty bottles with water and have a drink.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 12:48 PM
Blood: The tube is too thick to sense if there's water running through it. Pulling it out of the floor might be possible, since it seems to be twisted into a slot in the floor.

Raistlin & Dr. Bath: Working together, you manage to open the door somewhat more. It is now about 0,25 meters open.

Dr. Bath: Your vest gets flushed out of the tube by the pressure.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 12:49 PM
"Hm, Dr. Bath. I notice your bottles are shut with corks. Maybe they could help stop the water flooding out?"

Dr. Bath
2007-05-06, 12:49 PM
Fine, I'll squeeze through the door and have a look at the corridoor on the pther side

Blood
2007-05-06, 12:49 PM
Blood decides that it isn't as important, and goes over to help the others pull open the door more. He keeps pulling until the door is open enough to let someone slide through.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 12:54 PM
Dr. Bath: You end up in a corridor shaped like a horseshoe. This door is located at the bend, but both on the right and left side of the U-shape there are doors.

Blood: Squeezing the door open further doesn't seem to work, especially on your own.

Dr. Bath
2007-05-06, 12:55 PM
I shall retreive my vest and try to stopper the water with a cork. Then I shall squeeze through the door

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 12:55 PM
I also squeeze through the door to investigate.

(im guessing the doors in the corridor are the same as the door in here?)

Blood
2007-05-06, 12:57 PM
Blood lets go, but immediately grabs the door and tries to hold it if it starts to close by itself. If it doesn't begin to close, he goes over to see if he can help clog the pipe. "Use your vest and corks, I'll see if the tux helps." Hopefully, with a vest, a tuxedo, and two corks, the pressure doesn't blow them out.

Dr. Bath
2007-05-06, 01:01 PM
After trying to stop the water I head along the left part of the horseshoe, with my cutlass drawn

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 01:09 PM
I go with Dr. Bath and try to open the door on the left side of the horseshoe a crack like Rej did with the first door.

unless theres another way to open this one.

RoKAi
2007-05-06, 01:11 PM
* let the washing machine for a minute and all come and help to get the door op en as far as we can (when i can i put my back against the side of the door and my feet against the wall and then stretch my legs to push it open as far as I can

Blood
2007-05-06, 01:12 PM
Blood sighs, puts his now wet tuxedo back on, and goes back over to the door to help the others open it more.

Dr. Bath
2007-05-06, 01:17 PM
I'll try and lever open the door on the left of the horseshoe with my spear and cutlass

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 01:39 PM
Dr. Bath: Even a cork won't plug the hole (it's not big enough, anyways).

Blood: There seems to be no plugging to the pipe.

The doors in the hallway each have a button next to them (including the one you came through). Also, it's quite dark in the hallway, as it doesn't seem to have lights. Come to think of it, neither did the previous room. all the light was being emitted by the washing-machine.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 01:42 PM
I feel my way using the wall back to the first door and press the button to open it. (well i hope it opens it..)

Then i feel my way back to the door on the left side of the corridor and press the button on that side.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 01:45 PM
Salmon: You open both doors completely. The room at the end of the left side contains a big tube with a control panel which is holding some sort of alien and a second controlpanel that spans the whole curved wall. The water enters in that room too, now.

Blood
2007-05-06, 01:46 PM
Blood slides through the door in the washing machine room out into the horseshoe hallway and promptly becomes an NPC for a while. He gives the air one last swipe of the Giga Geiger Thingy, though.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 01:49 PM
"Wow.. An Alien.." :smalleek:

I aim my Giga Geiger Counter at it, in curiousity.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 01:49 PM
Blood: Barely any reading in the hallway.

Salmon: Massive Giga Counter readings.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 01:54 PM
"Ah, right.. that's two things we need to destroy.. I wonder if any of these buttons will do the trick :smallconfused:"

I look over the buttons to see if there are any instructions or labels.

RoKAi
2007-05-06, 01:59 PM
I go in and walk with caution to the alien speaking in the same tongue as on the washing machine making no sudden moves or anything.
in alien: *hello, who are you and what are we doing here?*
I do make sure he hears us, if he attacks me I try to kill him with my spear ( dodge whatever attacks he does and stab him)

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 01:59 PM
Salmon: The buttons are pretty much unlabelled. One of them is suspiciously close to a speaker though. The three other buttons are a blue lever, a red switch and a green button.

RoKAi: The alien is in a big tube...

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 02:21 PM
"hmm, RoKAi. Maybe if you hold down that button next to the speaker and talk into it you could communicate with it? Just a guess.

Aegeus

OOC: A few hours ago this was dead, and now it's 4 pages!

Aegeus materializes with a *ZOT*. Noting the rising water, and the failed attempts to clog it, he decides to squeeze through the open door. He waits for everyone to leave, and then tries to force it shut.
"Space Stations tend to have very high pressure resistance. I think that it can withstand the rising water fairly well, even if the room fills up. Also, once the water rises high enough, it might even short out the washing machine and remove a nasty source of instability."

He pauses for a minute, and then notices something. "How much water can they have on a space station, anyway? Why don't we just wait for the water to run out?"

If he can get the door shut and everyone leaves, Aegeus will head into the control room.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 02:32 PM
"Not a bad idea Aegeus. Once everyone leaves that room just press the button next to the door to close it, i think that should work."

I press the button next to the speaker, hoping nothing bad will happen.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 02:55 PM
Salmon: You hear a crackling and the alien opens its eyes very suddenly in surprise. Slwoly, the thing turns in his liquid-filled tube and stares at you.
"Qvourt?"

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 03:01 PM
(oh dear, wheres RoKAi when you need him :smalltongue: )

I try speaking to the alien.
"Uhm, Hello? Can you hear me?"

Blood
2007-05-06, 03:15 PM
If everyone is out of the washing machine room, Blood helps to close the door as much as he can. He adds to Aegeus, "The washing machine will be overloaded with water pressure, and hopefully explode. It's got a high Giga Rating, we don't want it anyway. Blood then heads into the control room, since he can't see around to anywhere else because of the lack of light.

Blood looks at all the controls, and up at the alien. He also tries to speak to it, nervously. "Do you understand us?"

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 03:20 PM
Blood: You close the door, eliminating all light sources in the ship. Only the tube gives off a faint glow.

The alien looks around at the players and repeats"Qvourt?".
I'll add a description of him, just so you know what he looks like: his body seems to be very scrawny, tiny and gooish, but his head is enormous and bulgy (but also gooish). The alien is green (pretty much the colour of his text) and his wearing a mask, of which the pipe dissapears in the ceiling of the tube. He also has some weird, organ like whiskers and he only has three fingers on each hand, each of them ending up in a sharp purple nail.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 03:23 PM
"Damnit, we'll need RoKAi to speak to it.. Maybe we should see what's behind the door on the right side while we wait"

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 03:49 PM
Salmon: Does "maybe" mean you're gonna, or not?

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 03:55 PM
Uhm, might aswell.

I once again feel my way over to the door on the right side of the corridor and press the button to open it.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 04:03 PM
Salmon: On the way there, you suddenly hear a click. A grid of lazers appears in the hallway, both behind you, and in front of you. Hey, look on the bright side: at least you have some light now!

Raistlin1040
2007-05-06, 04:08 PM
((Do I have a special ability like RoKAi?))

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 04:08 PM
Raistlin: Nope, you just have your toy surprise.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-06, 04:09 PM
"Just.. Great.. :smallannoyed: I wonder if they set off some sort of alarm or are lethal..

Now that there's light i look around and see if there's any way to deactivate them from where i am.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-06, 04:10 PM
Salmon: it's not a lot of light...But no, there doesn't seem to be any button of any sort in sight where you are. just the grids and the walls.

Aegeus
2007-05-06, 08:24 PM
OOC: How come RoKai can understand the alien? Is it just because of the instabilities? Also, did we succeed in closing the door?

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-06, 09:40 PM
Duchess, who has been following the others around and silently assessing the situations, stays in the alien's room and says "Qvourt!" back to the alien, hoping for a reaction.

Rejakor
2007-05-06, 11:42 PM
Rej: I push the button next to the door, trying to close it. If it doesn't close on it's own, I help blood push it closed. After doing that, I walk over to where Salmon is trapped by a grid of lasers. "Just hold still, don't panic and for Freg's sake don't touch any of those lasers." I look around for any buttons on my side of the lasers.

((Also, the metal cable I have, it's basically really strong rope, right? No connectors or shiny stuff on it?))

RoKAi
2007-05-07, 01:16 AM
I speak through the micro to the alien:
"hello, who are you? and waht are you doing here, could you help us with some problems like shutting the washing machine down so it stops pouring water, and putting off the lasers would be nice too ((smiles friendly))

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-07, 05:29 AM
I shout down the corridor.

"There were some buttons and switches in the room with the alien, Maybe one of them controls these lasers!"

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-07, 08:15 AM
Hearing Salmon's shout, Duchess examines the room for any buttons or control panels.

Dr. Bath
2007-05-07, 09:57 AM
I shall bash any of the buttons next to the alien, exept for the speaker button.

RoKAi
2007-05-07, 10:17 AM
I wouldn't do that Dr. Bath, what if you push a button that kills everyone or turns the lasers into Salmon's direction. Let me ask the alien first if he knows which button to press.

Dr. Bath
2007-05-07, 10:22 AM
Awww, but I want to accidentally kill everyone.

have it your way, no accidentally killing salmon. Today.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-07, 12:13 PM
((Aegeus: You haven't got a clue why RoKAi can understand the alien, and no-one else does))

Duchess: The alien looks at you and says "Lobryi?". Also, you can't make sense of the buttons, none of them are labelled.

Rejakor: Yes, it's just an ordinary cable. And there's no buttons on your side of the lasers either. Closing the door isn't a problem.

RoKAi: The alien answers "I am Slaan, of Überon, I am the pilot of this vessel. My days have passed ages ago, and my companions have shed their shells, but I, Slaan, live on".
To everyone else, this sounds like "Bigo Slaan, com Überon, bigo bell shurok dak. Bogo slyvr qlourt qagi, qagi brochacq uglac mogi, slon Qi, Slaan, barucyq".

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-07, 12:16 PM
Duchess looks out into the hallway at the laser grids, without actually entering the hallway. (Are they perpendicular or parallel to the floor? If they are parallel, how high off the ground are they?)

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-07, 12:37 PM
Duchess: They form a grid. Each square in the grid has sides of 20 centimeters. The squares are smaller at the walls.

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-07, 01:05 PM
(So a 3-dimensional grid then?)

Without touching the lasers, Duchess waves her Giga Geiger Counter in the direction of the laser grid. If there is no significant reading, she goes back to the alien, says "Qvourt" again to get its attention, points at it, points at the control panel, and shrugs, hoping to imply that she doesn't know what the buttons do, but is willing to help the alien if it can help her. (Unlikely with those awesome sign language skills, but worth a try  )

Dr. Bath
2007-05-07, 01:18 PM
Bigo Dr. Bath, com Earth I say to the alien and also gesture at the lasers and controls.

RoKAi
2007-05-07, 01:20 PM
Duchess, wouldn't it be better to let me do the talking :) (no offense but he doesn't understand u)

I tell what the alien told me

*the man in the lasergrid is a friend of mine Slaan, could you please get him out of the grid? and can we do anything for you?*

RoKAi
2007-05-07, 01:25 PM
*I'll play the translator (yay I have a useful job WOOO (runs around in a circle like Elan can do)*

I also go read what the signs say at the control panel

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-07, 01:29 PM
Duchess: No, it's a 2D grid, it just has lines running in two directions (which are still in the same plane). The grid does not produce a significant Geiger reading.

Dr. Bath: Since you did not understand what the alien said, it is very unlikely you can translate your words like this, but good try! If RoKAi translates the words, you could indeed talk to the alien in this way.

RoKAi: The alien responds: "My occupation is pilot, I can not control anything outside this very room. The trap was never meant for you, I sincerely apologise".
There is no text on the control panel, by the way.

RoKAi
2007-05-07, 01:32 PM
what do the despcriptions say at the controlpanel or do I have to cross the grid for first. If so I ask Slaan if he knows how to shut it down and also how to shut down the washing machine.

(I translate what he says)

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-07, 01:33 PM
If it is possible to get to the door on the other side of the hallway without disturbing the lasers, Duchess does so.

Dr. Bath
2007-05-07, 01:33 PM
Well that means it's back to my suggestion of bashing all the buttons. But besore I do I would like to inspect the contols more carefully

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-07, 01:44 PM
RoKAi: The alien says: "Washing-Machine? We do not possess such a utility, stranger. As for the grid, Slaan believes it is not possible to turn it off. It is a trap, and traps are meant to kill...". Also, I repeat, there is no text on the control panel.

Duchess: Nope, the lazers cover the entire hallway.

Dr. Bath: The control panel has thousands of buttons on it, each unlabelled. The small panel in front of the alien holds a blue lever, a red switch , a green button and the speaker button.

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-07, 01:48 PM
Mentally apologizing to Salmon if something horrible happens, Duchess walks over to the large panel of unlabeled buttons, closes her eyes and presses one randomly.

Dr. Bath
2007-05-07, 01:50 PM
Rokai, ask what the blue lever and the red switch do.

Also, how are the lasers coming out of and going into the wall? because we might be able to deflect them or change the direction.

I also fashion my vest and tiki skirt into a sack to put my bottles of water in

RoKAi
2007-05-07, 01:55 PM
Slaan, what are the blue and red lever for, and the green button?
i'm also sorry that I haven't introduced myself, I'm RoKAi

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-07, 01:58 PM
Duchess: Not much seems to happen.

RoKAi: The alien exlaims "No! Tell your companions to stay away from those! I am the sole controller of this vessel!"

Dr. Bath: The lasers are coming out of small cylindrical holes in the wall, floor and ceiling. You fail making a sack (the vest is open at the front, and the skirt is not much more than a bunch of grass tied to a string).

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-07, 02:03 PM
(Is there water in the hallway?)

Duchess turns to Dr. Bath. "You guys have water, right? Or bottles to put water in? I wonder if the lasers would short out if we got the holes where they come out from wet."

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-07, 02:05 PM
Duchess: Yes, there is water in the hallway.

RoKAi: The alien answers: "Please, do not touch those buttons, they are vital for my survival"

RoKAi
2007-05-07, 02:09 PM
DO NOT TOUCH THE BUTTONS AND LEVERS (only the 2 levers and the green button or also the control panel?) YOU WILL KILL SLAAN IF YOU DO.

*Slaan, how come the rest of your crew has died, where they of the same race as you?*

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-07, 02:09 PM
(Well there goes that idea, since I assume the water is covering the laser openings on the floor. How high is the water in the hallway, and does it seem to have any effect on the lasers?)

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-07, 02:11 PM
RoKAi: "My companions, my crewmates...they did not perish, or die as you say...they shed their shells, a fate much worse than death...only I remain, forced to dwell upon their dark fates...". And only the buttons on the small panel are connected to Slaan's tube.

Duchess: The water is about thirty centimeters high. All it does is spread the laser a bit (causing thicker rays underwater).

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-07, 02:27 PM
Duchess turns to RoKai. "So that control panel is the only thing keeping the alien alive?"

Turning back to the laser grid, she puts her hand near one of the laser beams, trying to figure out if it's hot or not. To anyone listening, she says "Do you think the lasers activate a trap when crossed, or if they themselves are the trap by way of being harmful to the touch?"

RoKAi
2007-05-07, 02:38 PM
*"they shed their shells, a fate much worse than death..."
what do you mean by that?*

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-07, 03:51 PM
RoKAi: "It's a horrible way to fare indeed...But let us not dwell on such things, they are too awful to bend your mind around. Tell me rather, my fellow traveller, what doest thou seek here?"

Aegeus
2007-05-07, 04:54 PM
Aegeus takes off the jacket of his Tuxedo and sticks part of the fabric into the lasers. "Let's see how strong these lasers are. If it's not very damaging, then we might be able to stop Salmon from getting fried by putting something in the way to block it temporarily. So, will it roast my jacket or merely singe it?"

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-07, 06:16 PM
I shout down the corridor to the people in the control room

"Uhm, Guys. I'm sorry to say but we need that alien dead anyway.. So don't get too attatched to it. And this trap is ment to kill!? :smalleek: Yikes.. RoKAi, could you ask it how the trap kills? my guess is the victim in this case me.. just starves to death?

Oh, and Dr. Bath.. I'm not deaf.. :smallannoyed:"

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-07, 06:40 PM
Duchess shouts to Aegeus, "No wait! What if the trap is actually triggered by something passing through the lasers, and the lasers themselves are not deadly? If we test them we could accidentally kill Salmon. Although if we do nothing he'll die of starvation eventually, but, ya know, we should consider all angles."

"And I know we have to kill the alien, Salmon. I figure we'll let RoKai get as much info out of it as she can and then we'll destroy the control panel keeping it alive."

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-07, 06:49 PM
I take a drink of the fresh water around my feet and the lasers.

"I also have these 2 food pill things which can keep me going for a bit. So im doing okay at the moment."

I suddenly notice Aegeus has stuck his Tux into the lasers.

:smalleek: "Uh oh.."

If the Tux doesn't get ripped into shreds, instantly burnt to a crisp or harmed. I will instantly dive through the lasers to the door on the right side of the corridor, hoping to avoid any trap that may have been activated. However, if the Tuxedo gets destroyed or harmed in any way i will sit still where i am.

(also, how far are the lasers to the door on the right?)

RoKAi
2007-05-08, 09:45 AM
1. Why do we need to kill Slaan, he hasn't done anything wrong and I see no reason to kill him.
2. Slaan is the pilot and knows nothing about the traps, I could ask him if he knows a way to shut them of (which I do)

*Slaan, I have no idea where we are (except the fact we are in a spaceship) and what we are doin here even less, we popped into existence*

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-08, 09:51 AM
"RoKAi, He is a disruption.. among some other things.. Our job is to destroy these disruptions in any way possible.. i'm sorry.."

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-08, 09:59 AM
"Also, I find it a little suspicious that he's the one guy who survived on the whole ship. He may very well have done something wrong and simply not told you, RoKai. Besides, he's the pilot of this ship but claims not to know how to turn off the traps? How did him and his friends avoid them?"

RoKAi
2007-05-08, 09:59 AM
youre job description in the PM from Edward??

I suggest you should first get to the bottom of this, maybe Slaan knows how to clean us or whatever, just wait for it.

RoKAi
2007-05-08, 10:02 AM
duchess, this technology is very advanced and maybe the traps were activated by the last one (Slaan not included) and they work on biorythm or something DNA-patern-detector.
besides he is a PILOT, a pilot pilots the ship and doesn't concern himself about anything else, if he seems to be evil i won't hesitate to kill him.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-08, 10:03 AM
"We weren't planning on killing 'Slaan' yet anyway, we can get much more use out of him. There must be something important behind this door on the right.. or why would they have set a trap right before it?"

I get out my giga geiger counter and try aiming it at the door.

RoKAi
2007-05-08, 10:37 AM
thats true. what else do you have on you except the giga geiger counter?

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-08, 10:38 AM
"Apart from this i have.. 2 astronaut pills and a dehydrated water packet."

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-08, 11:21 AM
"We came prepared." :smallwink:

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-08, 11:51 AM
Aegeus: The tuxedo jacket gets cut clean through instantly where it touches the lasers.

RoKAi: "We are in quadrant 84B, it is now stardate 13,4. Slaan does not know how you got here either, though you might have entered through the transdimensional portal...I hope not though..."

Salmon: You don't get any reading off the door. Also, your current location is about 6 metres away from the door, in case you were wondering.

RoKAi
2007-05-08, 11:59 AM
*oh, erh, why not? Me, and 2 friends came through the portal (it's the thing in the middle there right? -points at the washing machine-), the ohters teleported here*

besides, Salmon, Duchess and the rest, try to read urself with the Geiger Counter, who says we are the onlyones polluted, u stood in the water too AND drank from it sooo...

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-08, 12:05 PM
RoKAi: "The portal is unstable, me and my companions were told not to use it anymore...Not that it matters much now anymore anyway, they're all gone, only I remain, and aeons of loneliness, let me tell you, it is by no means a walk in the park"

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-08, 12:05 PM
"Oh thankgod, i'm actually relieved these lasers are lethal, at least it didn't set a trap on me."

"Hmm, If you say so RoKAi.."

I aim the giga geiger counter at myself to see if i get a reading from drinking the water..

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-08, 12:06 PM
Salmon: You get a minor reading, almost undetectable.

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-08, 12:21 PM
"Hmm, so what kind of material do we know of that could block a laser? Does anyone have a mirror of some kind perhaps?"

Duchess searches the alien room for any pieces of loose metal or relatively flat metallic objects.

She also aims the Giga Geiger Counter at herself to check for any anomalies from standing in the water.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-08, 12:24 PM
Duchess: You get a minor reading as well, but i never said it was because of the water... No loose metallic objects, though...

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-08, 12:25 PM
"Hmm, Maybe Dr Bath's cutlass? I saw him wielding it earlier, look pretty rusty though.."

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-08, 12:25 PM
Duchess examines her Giga Geiger Counter. What does it look like?

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-08, 12:27 PM
Duchess: It's a fairly big, flat, metallic box with a small antenna and a display. The display holds a small pointer, which can indicate readings from 0 to very high (no number is mentioned on the display).

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-08, 12:32 PM
"Does this mean we're becoming disruptions!? :smalleek: This must be a mistake.. this can't be correct..."

RoKAi
2007-05-08, 12:39 PM
Ooooh yes it's possible. think about this, if you work in a nuclear reactor and it explodes, you survive but breath in the polluted air, drink the polluted water, you take up the radioactive isotopes or whatever we are facing here, causing you to become one too. In case of radioactive stuff, you will boil from the inside out.

*Slaan, how come there are massive quantities of polluted stuff we can see with our geiger counters?, and do you know how to put off those lasers? like with the panel overthere?*

can I reach the panel without going through the lasernet (i guess so but i always forget)?

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-08, 12:39 PM
"It's probably just the environment, and so far it's pretty minimal...I wouldn't worry about it."

"Alright, I have a really bad idea and I'm going to try it. Salmon, I need you to duck down as well as you can without, you know, killing yourself. Just in case this goes horribly wrong." After he does so, Duchess slides her Giga Geiger Counter against the wall outside the door so it's blocking the hole the laser is coming out of. The side of the counter without the display is pointed away from the wall, and she angles it so if the laser reflects off the surface it's angled away from both herself and Salmon. She does not allow any part of her arm or hand to cross the lasers.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-08, 12:41 PM
RoKAi: Yes, you can reach the panel, it's in a completely different room. I'll try to put up a description in support asap.
"No, this I do not know...The disruptions? Geiger Counters? I know not what you speak off...anything weird likely has to do with the portal, though"

RoKAi
2007-05-08, 12:42 PM
er, i supose you mean one of the middle lasers because i think they are all around the corner (meaning sides, ceiling and floor)
IF IT WORKS try to destroy the other lasers by deflecting this lazer on the other openings or try to cut through the wall and hereby destroying the flow of energy

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-08, 12:44 PM
:smalleek: "A-Are you sure about this?"

Salmon ducks down as low as he possibly can and waits to see what happens.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-08, 04:01 PM
Duchess: You slide your counter in front of one of the lasers, and, indeed, the metal stops the ray. You can hear some sizzling though, and there are lights visible around the Geiger Counter.

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-08, 04:11 PM
(It doesn't reflect the laser, it just blocks it?)

Duchess takes her Geiger Counter out of the laser and tries to determine how many lasers are between her and Salmon, and her and the door on the opposite side of the hallway, and what position they are in (perpendicular/parallel to the walls/floor).

Aegeus
2007-05-08, 05:00 PM
"Okay, so the laser is fairly low intensity, it won't penetrate metal very well. I'll contribute my Giga, so maybe we can block enough lasers to let Salmon out."

Aegeus gives his Giga Geiger Counter to Duchess and returns to the control room. He asks Rokai to ask the alien what the other control panel does. "We know that the buttons by the tube control the alien's life support, but what does the wall-sized panel control?"

Rejakor
2007-05-08, 11:54 PM
Rej: I take out my metal cable, and see if I can block the lasers with it.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-09, 06:11 AM
Duchess: Your counter now has a small, but rather deep hole in it. The lasers are in two directions, meaning both parallel and perpendicular to the floor, as they form a grid. Since the grid has squares of about 20cm sides, half of that at the walls, and the hallway is three meters wide and three meters high, there are 28 laser beams between you and Salmon, 28 between Salmon and the door (second grid) and 56 in total (both grids) between you and the door.

Rejakor: Nope, you can't block the lasers with the cable, it's too thin.

Blood
2007-05-09, 06:34 AM
Blood sits in the control room, thinking.

((Stupid forums not always working!))

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-09, 06:34 AM
"Right, so we have three giga geigers counters we can use to block the lasers and get me out, including mine. Rejakor and Blood, would you be willing to use yours aswell?

Rejakor
2007-05-09, 06:37 AM
Using my tuxedo and some water, I buff up the back of my giga geiger counter, until it's as shiny as I can make it, and then I try and use it to reflect one of the lazar beems at the base of one of the others.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-09, 06:39 AM
Rejakor: The laser just slowly burns through the metal, it isn't deflected.

Rejakor
2007-05-09, 06:41 AM
"Salmon, with three Giga's there's no way we're getting you out. Look at how many lasers there are! Now, be quiet, i'm trying something. Oh, and Rokai, if that's your name, ask that damn alien how to turn off these lasers!"

Rejakor
2007-05-09, 06:42 AM
I pull my giga out of the way of the lasers. "Looks like that alien is our best hope."

I look around and look for something I can break off, to make a metal club.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-09, 06:44 AM
Rejakor: the hallways are pretty smooth, so you don't find anything tp break off.

RoKAi
2007-05-09, 06:45 AM
I told you before he doesn't know
I go examine the control panel and see if there are any indications on it about what the buttons do
*slaan, I can use that control panel overthere right? Do you know what it does?*

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-09, 06:47 AM
RoKAi: "Yes...It controls the ship, most of the buttons don't work anymore,though..."

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-09, 06:48 AM
"Maybe try pouring some water on to the control panel that controls the ship.. It could disable these lasers.. But it could also do something worse."

RoKAi
2007-05-09, 06:49 AM
I go check out the controlpanel

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-09, 06:51 AM
RoKAi: It's a bigass panel, with loads of different coloured buttons (as in hundreds). There are no descriptions anywhere on the panel.

"Maybe you could ask Slaan what some of the buttons do and which ones are working, he could have an idea.."

RoKAi
2007-05-09, 06:56 AM
*what do those buttons do?, and which don't work*

Duchess_of_Elysian

Duchess puts her Giga Geiger Counter on the ground (in a position such that the laser will be burning through an untouched area of the metal and not the previously made hole), blocking one of the vertical lasers right outside the door. She then holds out Aegeus' Counter in the path of the lowest horizontal laser, creating a wider opening in the first grid. If the opening looks wide enough for her to crawl through, she does so quickly, joining Salmon on the other side of the first laser grid. She immediately takes her Counter off the floor and removes Aegeus' Counter from the laser path once she's on the other side, hoping the damage to them isn't too bad.

Duchess: can you crawl through a square hole with sides of thirty centimeters without touching the sides? I doubt it.

RoKAi: "Most of those buttons don't work anymore...It's been a long time since I used them, but it would help if I could see them. Could you open the window for Slaan?

Rejakor
2007-05-10, 06:40 AM
Rej: "Rokai, you tell that thing if it doesn't tell us how to deactivate these lasers i'm going to personally rip it's reproductive organs out through it's face." I say, and then look at the grid of lasers. Looking around the corridor, I look for any vents, control panels, or openable panels.

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-10, 08:26 AM
(Hmm, true, forgot how small a centimeter is. Although wouldn't it be 40cm sides? Oh well, that would still be too small.)

"You know, we don't need to block all of the lasers. We only need to block enough so there's a space to crawl through. With a couple more thick metal items, we could probably get through."

Rejakor
2007-05-10, 08:59 AM
Rej: I look at the veritable wall of lasers, and look over at Duchess. "The only way we're getting through that is in pieces. Look, those aliens, or whoever made this spaceship must have created a way to turn it off. We just need to find that and use it. Either that, or Salmon is screwed. You'd need a tank to get through there."

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-10, 09:46 AM
Rejakor: You find no panel or such.

Duchess: At the sides, the openings are only ten centimeters, making for total of thirty centimeters.

Almighty Salmon

I look over at Rejakor and Duchess.

"If you ask me, that damn alien is holding back. I think he knows more than he's saying. Maybe you could 'persuade' him.. If you know what i mean.." :smallamused:

"... Just so we're clear, i ment threatening him.."

Rejakor
2007-05-10, 09:50 AM
"Why don't you wait for Rokai to tell us what's going on? We don't even know what that damn thing is saying." I chuckle, and look over at where the alien is in it's tube and Rokai is talking to it. I wave my giga at the walls. Are they giving off disruption?

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-10, 09:51 AM
Rejakor: The walls? No, they're not giving off any readings.

Rejakor
2007-05-10, 09:57 AM
Rej: "Sigh. I wish I had a multi-tool." I say, and see if I can pull some of the panels off the walls with my bare hands or using my giga as a pry bar.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-10, 09:58 AM
Rejakor: The walls are pretty much solid metal, without a stitch or crack anywhere.

Rejakor
2007-05-10, 10:00 AM
Rej: What about the floors or the ceilings? Can I rip bits off them?

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-10, 10:04 AM
Rejakor: Same thing. Solid metal, of an unknown variety, by the way. There aren't even stitches between the walls and the ceiling or floor. It's as if the entire ship was made out of one chunk of metal.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-10, 10:11 AM
What's the height from the floor from the ceiling?

RoKAi
2007-05-10, 10:15 AM
((srry i answer so late, the forum was stuck all the time))

*hmm, slaan, how can i show it to you, I have no ways of doing it. RoKAi describes the panel as good as he can*

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-10, 10:20 AM
Salmon: The hallway is three meters high and three meters wide.

RoKAi: "Just push that button over there, the relatively big blue one next to the three purple ones, the grey one and the one that looks as if it's been sneezed on"

RoKAi
2007-05-10, 10:31 AM
I'm going to do what the alien said ((I have translated everything so far))
*ok, I hope you aren't lying  *
-I follow his instructions-

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-10, 12:34 PM
RoKAi: The whole wall in front off the large panel with buttons slides up, revealing a huge curved window. Outside the window, you can see meteors flying around and a large red sun, lighting up the environements.

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-10, 12:49 PM
After standing in awe for a few seconds at the sight out the window, Duchess aims her Giga Geiger Counter at the window, and then aims Aegeus' Counter at the window.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-10, 12:52 PM
Duchess: Neither give off a reading.

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-10, 01:15 PM
Duchess examines the view outside the window for anything particularly interesting/suspicious and runs her fingers along the glass, checking for cracks, indents or anything else non-glass-like.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-10, 01:18 PM
Duchess: Nothing really special per se, but you do find a small crack in the glass, well, it's not really glass, just something that looks like glass.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-10, 01:25 PM
MrEdwardNigma: What is the sign that Rejakor took off the machine machine made of? I'm guessing wood?

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-10, 01:30 PM
Duchess puts her ear up to the crack, trying to detect if air is escaping through it.

Aegeus
2007-05-10, 01:57 PM
Aegeus gapes at the view. "Now I know why I signed up for this job... But how does this help Slaan see the buttons?"

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-10, 02:06 PM
Salmon: The sign's made of paper, and it also has a string attached.

Duchess: Nope, no air escaping.

Aegeus: The sun lights up the room in a reddish glow. Well, before there wasn't any light in the room, apart from the little light the tube gave off.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-10, 02:15 PM
"Hey guys, can you see anything else in the control room now that theres more light?"

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-10, 02:16 PM
Salmon: Nope, they can't.

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-10, 03:50 PM
Duchess examines the glass-like substance of the window, trying to determine what it actually is, before tapping gently on the crack in the window.

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-10, 04:00 PM
Duchess: You don't remember ever having seen this substance before, but then again, you don't remember a lot of things. Tapping on the glass doesn't seem to do much.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-10, 05:44 PM
(so, Slaan can now see the control panel due to the light?)

"RoKAi, Now would be a good time to ask him about the panel and the buttons."

Blood
2007-05-10, 05:59 PM
Blood just sits down in the control room and hmm's again as his player tries to catch up after the forum outage problems.

(Can someone fill me in on what's going on? My internet was down.)

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-10, 08:34 PM
(There is a U-shaped hallway. At one end is a room with an alien in it only RoKai can talk to who claims he's the pilot of the ship and last survivor of his race. By telling RoKai which buttons to push on a massive control panel in the same room, it managed to open a window so now we have a stunning view. At the other end of the hallway is another door, this one blocked by 2 laser grids with Salmon trapped between them hoping not to starve to death. We've discovered metal of sufficient thickness blocks the lasers at least temporarily.)

MrEdwardNigma
2007-05-11, 01:16 AM
Salmon: Yes, he can see the panel.

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-11, 08:29 AM
Resisting the urge to throw something at the crack in the window, Duchess pushes the button that looks like its been sneezed on. If nothing happens, she goes back to the hallway and examines the holes in the walls where the lasers are being emitted.

Blood
2007-05-11, 02:43 PM
Blood just sits there and waits for something to happen, an idea to come to mind, or an opportunity to destroy the time/space continuum disrupters.

Duchess_of_Elysian
2007-05-11, 03:31 PM
Duchess sidles up to Blood somewhat conspiratorially (is that a word?) and whispers, "It seems eventually we're going to have to, well, destroy these guys, but do you find it odd that we were not issued any weapons or other destructive tools? Maybe there's some other way we're supposed to rid them of the disturbance. Ya know, one that doesn't involve large amounts of violence. What do you think?"

Dr. Bath
2007-05-11, 03:35 PM
I wouldn't suggest violence against us that came through the portal, since we're the ones who are armed.

However I do think that it would be a good idea to try and rid us of these 'disturbances'.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-11, 03:36 PM
(MrEdwardNigma confirmed on the first page that the job description says we're ment to destroy the disruptions in any way possible :smallwink:)

"Hey, Dr. Bath, you have a sword right? How long is it, and how thick is the metal?"

Dr. Bath
2007-05-11, 04:00 PM
It's a cutlass, so about a metre long and few centimetres thick. Although it is very rusty, so I don't think it will last as long if at all when blocking the laser.

Almighty Salmon
2007-05-11, 04:09 PM
"You also have a compass, right? y'think that would deflect a laser?"
