Not a character I would build, but a notion i've been toying around with. A paladin is inspired by, possibly trained by, or perhaps even possesses other ties to, that one 'lovable' race of aberrations known as the flumph.

How would you statistically approach this concept? What other flavor elements would you include in such a thing? How would they differ from other paladins?

I would play this character. I'm not sure how though. Maybe an unarmed warrior with "Touch of Golden Ice".

Edit:
Just realized this is a PF thread.

Well for one thing, you'd need a way to get feather fall on your spell list, to keep your friends from getting squashed by falling adventurers.

I'd say any archetype that is flavored towards fighting aberrations would be suitable.

I'd say replacing flaming with corrosive and flaming burst with corrosive burst would reflect an aspect of the flumph.

Access to the aberrant bloodline, via feat or VMC, wouldn't hurt in terms of flavor or synergy. Though refluffing the Aboleth bloodline wouldn't be bad either.

How big are Flumph?

'Cause that might make a perfect Divine Bond Mount. =)

Flumph (http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/bestiary3/flumph.html) are small in size. Unless one has a really small character, perhaps a flumph would be more suitable to a Chosen One (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/paladin/archetypes/paizo---paladin-archetypes/chosen-one-paladin-archetype)'s familiar.

The fluff of the Chosen One suggests a very ... helpless (not the game term) Paladin. In my mind I am imagining a very stressed out and sassy Flumph sighing noticably with every Lay on Paws Tentacles and being rather sarcastic when giving spiritual advice.

Paladin: "This guy's quite powerful. I can't keep up. Guide me! WHAT DO I DO?!
Flumph: *sigh* "What have I told you? You are a noble knight of valor and light. You smite the evil."
Paladin: "But how am I supposed to know if that demon really IS evil?"

I didn't realize that it was a canonical creature.

Wait.

You want to be a Paladin of the Flying Spaghetti Monster?

I think you are my new hero.

Yes. Yes I do. More or less anyways. Though, it would seem they predate the FSM by ~2 decades. So.. theres that.

I find it in some ways more interesting that the flumph have been around since 1st edition. Atleast according to here (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flumph), and in spite of that they are relatively unknown.
