Hello Playground,

Since an alchemist can gain wizard spells from 1st to 6th level, what spells are good picks to add to the formula book? Lets just say money and space are not really a limiting factor. What is a short list of spells that are good and/or sync with the alchemist class, particularly bombs and mutagens?

Thanks!

I think you misunderstand; alchemists can copy spells that are shared between the two lists from a spellbook into his formula book. For example, you find a spellbook with Spider Climb, you can get that. Magic Missile not so much.

That makes a lot more sense-thanks for the clarification!

I suppose getting wizard spells that are not alchemist spells would be pretty freaking broken.

Yeah but there is something else: Remember that Spells with a range of personal (such as shield (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/s/shield) cannot be made into potions. They can, however, be made into extracts. And with the infusion (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/alchemist/discoveries/paizo---alchemist-discoveries/infusion) Discovery, the Alchemist can share his extracts with other.

Can you imagine how much of a boon a +4 force effect shield bonus is to your two-handed-wielding Fighter/Barbarian/Paladin?

Also, if you use Words of Power, there is a word that lets you create traps by making it so, that an object, that gets manipulated by someone other then the original caster, triggers another word effect. There is nothing prohibiting this to be a beneficial effect. Imagine tacking a Cure Light Wounds effect to every potion vial, being triggered simply by opening the vial to drink it.
