Because I've recently binged-watched Steven Universe, I've decided to make a Gem race. Because why not.

Ability Score Modifier: +2 Con, +2 Int. A Gem is not a
Type: Half-Construct- A gem is not technically alive- Any semblance is merely a projection emanated from their gem.
Base Speed: 30 feet.
Languages: Gems begin play speaking Common. Gems with high Intelligence can choose any languages they want (except secret languages, such as Druidic).
Gem Tool: A gem can summon from their Gem a Masterwork Tool, specifically for what they were created for- Select it during character creation. Once selected, this cannot be changed. Alternatively, you can grant yourself a masterwork weapon in it's place.
Hide in their Gem: When reduced to 0 HP or less, instead of becoming disabled, they are instead "Killed," their holographic form retreating into their Gem. Their gem have HP equal to half your HP, with a hardness of 20. If this gem is destroyed, you have died, and cannot be resurrected. They can re-manifest their physical form every 3 days, but can take longer if they so desire.
Senses: Gems have Darkvision 60 feet.

Racial Feats:

Gem Warrior
Prerequisite: BaB +2 and Fighters Tool or defeating a +4 CR encounter.
Benefit: As you level, your Gem Tool slowly begins to grow with you in terms of your ability to work. At level 3, you gain a +1 enhancement bonus to your Tool. This enhancement bonus increases by one every three levels after, up to a +5 bonus. In addition, by consuming a certain amount of Gold (Listed in Table 1-1), you can grant a special weapon ability to your Innate Tool. The maximum effective enhancement bonus is equal to the enhancement bonus on your weapon.

If you start with a Gem Tool, it's no longer considered an improvised weapon, and can be used on the Offense.

Guardian Gem
Prerequisite: BaB +2, and a Shield tool.
Benefit: As you level, your Gem Tool grows with your ability. At level 3, your Tool gains a +1 enhancement bonus, increasing by 1 every 3 levels. In addition, by consuming gold, you can grant your weapon a special property, up to your enhancement modifier. This is equal to half the amount of gold spent on a Gem Warrior's weapon.

How do Fusions work?

Also, what;'s a Half-Construct? Wouldn't a Construct with the Living Construct sub-type work better?
