1. The freelancer
2. MLG Quick scoper
3. Italian plumber

I think the freelancer is my favorite because it covers so many interesting features, and keeps it all under a similar mechanic.

1. MLG Quickscoper. Fantastic. Great sense of humor, and actually works as a great sniper class. While a little silly for a normal campaign, it can be adapted into a sort of arcane sniper. I Love it, and it's the only one I actually have a character idea for.

2. Pac-Knight. Extremely fun and creative interpretation of Pacman. Biting ghosts and summoning his powerups is fantastic, and you've mashed it up into a pseudo paladin/ranger/pacman. I Love it, it just might be a little too specialized in killing ghosts.

3rd. Freelancer. I Loved Bravely Default, and I am in awe that Zaydos has created a class that has covered every possible aspect. It's way too complicated for my puny mind, but I'm voting for it because its obvious that a ton of work went into this.

These are my votes:

1. Freelancer from Zaydos. It required a lot of time to read it all (you almost wrote and entire handbook!!!:smallwink:) but... wow... my time was very well spent. Complex, balanced, creative to the max, this entry deserves the first place.

2. Karoshi Suicide Salaryman from somebody27else. The idea of playing a PC like this is simply hilarious. The class is complete and balanced but features could have been described a little more clearly.

3. Italian Plumber from sengmeng. A simple class that felt really like Super Mario. Being an "ethnic Italian" (Italian from Italy, this definition made me laugh ) i will be glad to enter this class.

1st Pac-Knight by MrNobody. Not the biggest fan of Pacman, but the fluff was fun and the class is mechanically functional so if I had a setting that was silly enough (for example if I ever get around to running a game in Erutnevda) I'd allow it.

2nd Italian Plumber by sengmeng. Now I do have a soft spot for Mario. Haven't done the math on Head Crush, but it would have taken first place had it used a standardized DC (10 + 1/2 class level + Stat mod) instead of coup de grace for Head Stomp as DC 10 + damage dealt makes it a no save just die and it is easy to make the Jump check and to hit on a 2 it becomes a just die ability and that's not good.

3rd Karoshi Suicide Salaryman by somebody27else. This one made me laugh and introduced me to a semi-fun game (I prefer SMB and Lost Levels... Lost Levels :smallannoyed:). Didn't really like that Super Karoshi will require kryptonite to be quite common place, though.

I actually have no idea what the class can do. I stopped doing the math when it came to MP, and instead copied tables from UA and used standard spell costs for Color Magic. This was a mistake. Color Magic is about on par with normal spells, albeit even with all forms about as restrictive as Beguiler or Dread Necromancer, and the highest MP growth puts you on par with a spontaneous spellcaster. This works fine, or even a little underpowered, for the variant with 2 fixed jobs, but in the standard variation you are able to when you're out of MP go "Ok I'm a dragoon now I'll just be Luigi*". This becomes problematic. Combine that with rather haphazard MP costs of non-spell abilities, and the fact that the slot costs on abilities were practically chosen at random, and I am quite disappointed in Freelancer. The bigger disappointment is that it's too complicated for me to even really want to work on fixing right away. It is also problematic as a class because it can be any type of class, making it similar to a binder/incarnum on performance enhancing drugs.

Oh wait... this was supposed to be a defense, wasn't it? In its defense the 2 job variant makes up several possible interesting classes, the reduced jobs variant helps combat the omniclass problem, it cannot replicate every class already and homebrew adds a lot of things it cannot do, and the big defense: it should be fully functional as a replacement for the standard classes in a FF game. I feel that it did do a decent job in capturing the Job system, sans Blue Mage, and if Blue Mage was incorporated would be extremely useful for many varieties of Final Fantasy game, and provides something that could be fun to use in general in a game with the proper power level (I mean druid is still better at melee and casting).

*I had a player who was a warblade that was in theory a dragoon, he came to be called Luigi because both him and the Swordsage jumped around a lot, were bash brothers, and the swordsage was a red toad-man and the only character returning from the previous semester so was obviously the older brother.

The dark mage life sharing passive is funny because some people believe when you are dead you are still a creature(you only have -10 hp and they never says it means you are not a creature) because of that if you link 100 chickens you can have good protection against 10 hits(due to their life) and might have protections for other hits depending on the interpretation of RAW.
It is not really overpowered since someone sightly planning could use some way to trigger tons of small attacks with for example the box of very tiny arrow attack(killing mostly everybody linked to you) and use other multiple hit attacks.
Also one other fun thing is that you need to be willing only for being targeted and that sleeping people are always willing.
I hope the passives will not interact wrongly(it is dnd so there is way more potential for wrong interaction) when played.

Okay, well...

1st place goes to Italian Plumber. It's a great reference, a reference that everyone will actually get (Sorry, freelancer), and it works pretty well, I think.

2nd place: Karoshi. I have to side with Zay in not liking that you'll have to throw kryptonite everywhere, but it's a pretty nice class in general.

3rd: Solver of enigmas. I like what you're trying to do here, I really do. But the main problem is, you have a load of abilities that are essentially dependent on the DM being nice to you. It's a really good idea, and it gets third because I would really like to see it when it was rewritten.

Votes tallied and voting period extended slightly for sengmeng and somebody27else to get their votes in. Of course, the extended period is for everyone, not just the contestants.

It's best to do that sort of thing after the voting is over (or before it begins) so everyone votes on exactly the same entry. Also, I guess it's in the rules. Or something. :smalltongue:

But yeah, a few words won't make a huge difference and it's after the normal voting period, so I'll let you live this time. :smallamused:

The Freelancer - All (Or most of, at least) the individual Final Fantasy Jobs I'd like to play and/or emulate rolled into one ball of awesome.
Karoshi Suicide Salaryma - I have no idea what this is referencing. Yeah the links to the source were included but I feel that, somehow, that would ruin the mental image I got for myself after reading the class.
Pac-Knight - I greatly enjoyed the flavor text and am admittedly a sucker for good 'ol Pac (Wo)Man
