In the current campaign I am playing, my character is a fallen angel (human for mechanical purposes) . With the recent events of the story, my character is breaking out of his mortal shell and becoming his true form. I've been flipping through Savage species and while the monsters seem neat, at higher levels this seems to fall off dramatically. Does anyone know of any monster classes for angels or homebrew rules that can fix this?

You could also check out Oslecamo's Homebrew Classes (http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?board=34.0), specifically the Angel (http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?topic=586.0).

Nice. Don't those seem kind of OP though?

It's a Cleric limited to spells known, no domains, and no turn undead in exchange for some melee capabilities and a few defences. It gets some SLAs, but nothing spectacular. It's Tier 2 at best, so if Sorcerer is allowed then it should be fine.

Why not just try a Synthesist Summoner from pathfinder? Get evolutions that fit angels and there you go!

Never heard of it. Could you explain a bit?

Low or high tier2?

Low or high tier2?

Personally, I'd say low. Divine magic is generally not as useful as Arcane magic, and this is a pretty gimped version of it (and it can't come anywhere near what a Psion can pull off). The other things the class gets (various defences, SLAs, and so forth) are nice, but nothing that more spells couldn't do better. Think of it as a Favoured Soul that isn't disgustingly boring.

The Summoner (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/summoner) is a spellcasting class with the ability to summon a customizable monster. Said monster's look is pretty much up to you (so it could look like an angel) and you give it abilities based on a point pool (i.e. each ability costs X points, and you have Y points to spend on them). The Synthesist (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/summoner/archetypes/paizo---summoner-archetypes/synthesist) archetype allows you to merge with the creature (so instead of summoning it separately, you wear it like an armor) and use its physical ability scores. It's also rated as Tier 2.

Honestly, I would just home-brew my own.
Your current level might be a problem, but perhaps you could make it similar to the Eidolon/Eidolancer classes in ghost walk.

It becomes a level 20 racial prestige class class, in which your class levels are converted into the new class.

Angel?

Well good details for the class would be

All former class levels are converted into "angel" levels
Creature gains the outsider type and angel subtype
Skill points 4+int, Skills are all knowledge skills + 10 skills of choice.
Class features are Spellcasting/spells per day, Medium BAB, D8 Hit die. All good saves.
Angel Casts as cleric but can prepare spells from Cleric, Druid, and Wizard/Sorcerer spell lists.

So you're suggesting a Cleric that has all of the T1 spell casting lists in a single class, but with better saving throws, skills, and hitdice? I mean, sure, it could work, but that's approaching T0 in power. Maybe for a certain kind of game...

I mean, he's trying to play an angel.
Why would it be weak at all?

Theoretically, as said before, he could just pick up a half celestial, and rock with that, but he wanted more.

One could say that it is approaching T0, BUT... When you really think about it, it's not.
It has the same amount of slots competing for viability. A Cleric//Druid in some ways is better (access to wild shape, tons of ACF's, innate turn undead, domains.)

Not to mention it doesn't have access to ALL divine/Arcane spells like an STP erudite, or a archivist would.

It's got variety, yeah... But it's not the strongest thing ever.

You could ask your DM to create a Savage Progression for a Planetar or Solar. They're CR16 and CR23, with 14HD and 22HD respectively. Over the course of the savage progressions you should get.

1. Cleric Casting. Both of these creatures cast as clerics (in the planatar's case it actually has more cleric casting than it has HD)
2. Spell like abilities. Angels have a lot of them
3. Outsider Type, Angel subtype, good subtype.
4. Wings, with a scaling fly speed. A small boost to land speed.
5. Size increase to large.
6. DR/evil, regeneration, spell resistance, Natural Armor
7. Bonuses to ability scores

Your HD will be outsider HD, which are awesome.

You will probably be stronger than the rest of your party (cleric casting+a slew of SLAs), unless they're also mildly optimized tier 1s

I'd probably try to pitch the Planetar Savage progression. Solar gets some pretty ridiculous SLAs.
