Useful Sorcerer Spell To Boost CL?

Hi there, Playgrounders!

My sorcerer is level 4 and has an opportunity to get a permanent +1 CL when casting a specific spell. I get to choose the spell, and it can be any spell I can eventually cast. My question is... what're your suggestions about which spell to choose? Is there a damage spell that scales infinitely with CL and would benefit from an additional +1 CL? Utility spells? I'm open to any and all suggestions.

As long as you don't expect the game to go far beyond 10th level, yes. At 10th, the caster level boost becomes irrelevant due to the cap built into the spell itself.

I'd be inclined to pick something that has permanent utility - a capless spell such as Wings of Flurry (Races of the Dragon), or a long-running buff such as Alter Self.
