Compared to the spells and features other classes are getting at that level, is it on par?

Meh, rerolling a save once or a couple times per day isn't much to write home about, the fact that its pretty much the only high end ability they get besides ASIs and more attacks just kind of rubs it in.

I'd make it per short rest or give a bonus to the roll like advantage or proficiency/expertise, but even then the ability itself is sort of bland.

How about giving Legendary Resistance 1-2 per long rest? Would that be OP?

Personally I would turn indomnitable into 1/rest, then for the later levels where you would gain more uses /day you have other abilities that are minor defence/utiltity boosts.
Cause the fighter is a short rest class, i think their free reroll(s) should be short rest based like their bonus actions and their heals.

Alternate ability ideas:
- 1/Rest speed boost
- Make saving throws against effects at the beginning of your turn rather than at end
- 1/Rest negate damage against an attack as a reaction
- 1/rest turn hit into crit, or crit into hit
