I made a thread earlier called "Pathfinder Estus Flask?" and I'm going to expand on the idea here. My goal is to bring about a Template that would help Pathfinder players who want that Dark Souls lore in their campaign. So lets start by breaking down the story behind the Curse of Undeath.

Part 1 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcGS3O27XYY)
Part 2 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qopqgAtk0Q4&feature=iv&src_vid=GcGS3O27XYY&annotation_id=annotation_754413)

From that, it explains that the dark soul is the birth and growth of humanity. Gwyn refuses to let the Age of Dark come about and sacrifices himself to keep the flame alive, giving several humans immortality until they lose their humanity. This immortality is a curse because while the humans are immortal, with every 'death' they return with less and less humanity until they become what we refer to as the Hollowed Undead. The only way to reverse this hollowing is by using humanity created by the Dark Soul. So in essence, the Curse of Undeath was made to extinguish the ever-growing Dark Soul, but the Age of Dark is inevitable, and the main character of Dark Souls is a descendant of the Furtive Pygmy, and destined to break the curse, granting true death for those who are afflicted by it, allowing the Dark Soul to flourish.

What kind of function could a template have that would mimic this? Characters with this template have to be human. I was thinking of something that works with Negative Levels, like When someone dies, they gain a negative level, that stacks with each death. And these negative levels can only be removed by kindling humanity in a bonfire, or consuming a human effigy. (Dark Souls 2 changed humanity into effigies)
