View Full Version : How to handle Encounter Powers out of combat

There are several encounter powers that have a utility outside of combat (or even outside of an encounter of any type), such as teleportation.
I wanted to know what happens to such a power when there is no encounter. I was going to say it can't be used for 1d4 minutes (or just say 2 minutes, for when time keeping on such a scaling isn't an issue).

The assumed baseline is that resting for ~5 minutes isn't an issue outside of combat. Or even that resting precludes light activity which is what most out-of-combat actions are ~presumed to be.
So, on the whole, 5 minutes later is the "norm", but there are many adequate justifications to play it much like you want it to work.
So... your way looks fine. No need to fret. :)

Ah yes, the "how often can eladrin teleport?" Question. About once every five minutes.
