NEW TEMPLATE: Genetic Deviant

In the sense of the greater story, noteworthy individuals are often born, not made. Whether it be born with arcane intuition, divine favor, the influence of the titan, or perhaps just an unprecedented amount of luck. While this is not always true, those who are sung of by minstrels or whispered by tavern keepers were often born with a spark of greatness. And while options such as Divine Sainthood, Leylines, or the (un)luckiness to be picked up by He-Who-Was-Tharizdun may seem tempting, not all legends are made in such natural forges.

Some, as it turns out, are engineered for perfection.

Science is, in and of itself, a type of magic. A thread of the ancient narratives of Mutation and The Maker. It has become magic that can be explained, unfurled out to the layman and replicated ad infinitum to achieve the desired effects. One such effect was creating idyllic soldiers, beastly men and women designed to be the absolute best in the fields they were designed for. And through constant failures, deaths on a massive count, that formulae has neared perfection. In the stories of war, they are living weapons, reconstructed at the basest level to be, in a word, Amazing.

“Genetic Deviant” is an acquired template that can be added to any living corporeal Aberration, Fey, Giant, Humanoid, Magical Beast, or Monstrous Humanoid with a soul, an Intelligence of 3 or higher, and that is native to the Prime Material Plane.

Special Qualities:
A Genetic Deviant has all the special qualities of the base creature and gains the following special qualities.

Uncanny DNA: A Genetic Deviant is, at its basest level, a prolific and dangerous individual even among a dangerous world. They gain a single Exceptional Mythos from those available to a Mythic Genetic Deviant (see below), even if they are in no other way an inheritor of mythic power. Your class level for that Mythos is equal to your character level.

Battleborn: A Genetic Deviant was molded, crafted, broken and reforged to be an ultimate weapon of war. All class levels count as fighter levels and full initiator levels for purposes of feat prerequisites. For example, an 18th level Genetic Deviant Wizard (as rare as that may be), could pick up the Weapon Supremacy feat or a 9th level maneuver with Martial Study, assuming they met any other prerequisites.

Darkvision: Genetic Deviants gain Darkvision 60 feet.

Abilities
Increase from the base creature as follows: Str +2, Dex +2, Con +2, Int +2, Wis +2, Cha +2

Level Adjustment:
+1

Sidebar: Mythos On Multiple Lists

Because supplementary Mythos are drawn from the power of a mythic patron, despite not being fully part of them, there may be some overlap between the two lists. For example, Mythic Omphalions can tap into the Element-Forged Geomach Arsenal Mythos even if they are not a Kathodos, who draws their power directly from the Omphalos' narrative.

In the case that a character has access to a single Mythos on two lists, acquiring the Mythos once effectively acquires it for both lists (such as for prerequisites' sake). In the case that a Mythos is slightly different mechanically on each list, but has the same name, identifying it as the same Mythos, the character must choose which version they prefer when they gain access to the second list, and their choice cannot be changed afterward.

On a different but related note, when a character acquires a Mythos by some means other than taking levels in the class that draws directly upon that Mythos' progenitor (such as the Teramach and the Monster's Mythos), usually by a Mythic supplement, or the Broken [Mythic Patron] Amalgam feat, they are considered to have whatever class features, or portions of class features, from that class that are the bare minimum to use those Mythos.

For the Teramach, this is the entire Monstrous Rage class feature.

For the Kathodos, this is the 1st through 5th paragraphs of the Flow of Energy class feature.

For the Olethrofex, this is the entire Death's Torn Tapestry class feature.

For the Anakitos, this is the entire The Fetters Of Virtue class feature.

For the Dinyomi, this refers to the first through eighth paragraphs of Imperfect Hollow Selfdom class feature, save they do not get the armor class bonus

NEW FEAT: Awakening Latent Weaponization
Prerequisites: Genetic Deviant, One Mythos
Benefits: A body and mind remade and restructured to be the ultimate living weapon naturally begs and pleads out to be used as a tool of war. This is you answering such a call.

Choose one Mythos-granting class that you have levels in. You may treat the following Mythos as if they belonged to that class.

You can take an additional five foot step each round.

EXCEPTIONAL MYTHOS

Augmented Bone-Bolstering Empowerment
Prerequisites:A Skeletal System

Over the next 24 hours, your bones become (very slowly and painfully) coated in an ultra-dense, high compact metal of impeccable craftsmanship. This hardens every bit of your body granting you the Natural Heavyweight and Improved Unarmed Strike feats, as well as the ability to make unarmed strikes with any part of your body, in the same way as a monk. Your bones and bone based natural attacks also have a hardness of ((Your Level + Your Strength Modifier) x2), should it ever come up.

Your body also develops into a more specialized, more efficient killing machine, as denoted in its basic manifestations. Because of the time it takes your body to fully adjust to these changes, you cannot purchase a second basic manifestation before level 7, and you cannot purchase a third before level 13. The natural attacks from these different forms do not stack, only the first.

Basic
Howling Berserker Augments: Your metal bones mutate to be able to emerge from between your fingers, dealing a single point of damage the first time they are released, but giving you two retractable claws as primary natural attack, which deal 1d6 slashing damage for a medium sized Genetic Deviant, or 1d4 for a small sized one. If you already had natural claw attacks, you may use the higher damage of these claws and those.

You also gain a +2 Bonus to Strength, and a +5 racial bonus on saves against Poison, Disease, and Environmental effects (such as extreme heat or cold). Your claws also grant you a climb speed equal to your land speed while they are loose. Finally, you gain Steadfast Determination as a bonus feat.

Precision Assassin Augments: Your metal bones mutate to be able to emerge from your fingers and your feet, dealing a single point of damage the first time they are released, but giving you two retractable claw attacks in your hands and two in your feet as secondary natural attacks, which deal 1d4 slashing damage for a medium sized Genetic Deviant, or 1d3 for a small sized one. These do not stack with existing claw attacks.

You also gain a +2 Bonus to Dexterity, and a +5 racial bonus to saves against Poison, Disease, and Environmental effects (such as extreme heat or cold). You also gain Weapons Finesse as a Bonus Feat, and the ability to use your dexterity modifier in place of your strength modifier for determining your bonus damage from melee attacks.

Rampaging Wildheart Augments: Your metal bones mutate to augment your teeth and jaw line, granting you a bite attack as a primary natural attack, which deals 1d8 points of piercing damage for a medium sized Genetic Deviant, or 1d6 for a small sized one. If you already have a bite natural attack, you may use the higher damage of either bite attack you possess.

You also gain a +2 Bonus to Constitution, and a +5 Racial bonus to saves against Poison, Disease, and Environmental effects (Such as extreme heat or cold). You also gain Power Attack as a bonus feat, and the Powerful Build Racial Feature.

Bio-Organic Stamina Overdrive
Prerequisites: -

The body of the Genetic Devint is a tool of war and combat on any scale. It would not do them well to tire and fall when they most require strength.

Your Constitution increases by 2.

You gain Endurance, Heat Endurance, and Cold Endurance as Bonus Feats.

You can survive twice as long as a normal member of your race without food, water, or sleep, and hold your breath for twice as long. Your lift and carry is calculated as though you were one size larger than you are. Lastly, you can add your strength modifier to your Balance, Climb, Jump, Swim, and Tumble checks.

Retribution Will Follow
Prerequisite: -

In creating the ultimate weapon, certain corners had to be cut. Self control and self restraint are two such corners. In there place they poured hatred and animalistic instincts to kill and maim and hurt. But does a sword trouble itself with how hard it is swung? An arrow with who it pierces? No. They only turn upon those they wish to harm.

When you suffer damage, you fly into a Rage for 5 rounds, gaining a +4 bonus to Strength and Dexterity for the duration. However, if a living enemy incited your Rage, it gets first priority over all other enemies, and you must attack them in preference to anything else if it is reasonable possible for you to do so (i.e. if your priority target has damage reduction that is nearly impossible for you to overcome, you may choose a different target to pursue - work with your DM and use your best judgment). If you have multiple 'first priorities' from having been struck multiple times, you may freely choose among them.

Taking damage again while in this Rage does not create a new Rage effect, or stack additional bonuses. However, it does reset the duration back to 5 rounds, and (as stated above) add new priority targets.

Advanced
Hate Feeds The Meat: The Rage induced by this Mythos also applies a +4 bonus to Constitution. However, unlike normal Constitution gain, the hit points provided are Temporary Hit Points that stack with any other source of Temporary Hit Points, rather than real ones.

Provoking The Hellborn: The Rage induced by this Mythos also applies Resistance 2 to Fire, Cold, Electricity, Acid, and Sonic damage. This increases to 5 at 7th level, 10 at 12th level, and 15 at 17th level.

Resistance Is Futile: The Rage induced by this Mythos also applies damage reduction x/- for the duration. X equals 2 at 1st level, 4 at 4th level, 6 at 8th level, 8 at 12th level, 10 at 16th level, and 12 at 20th level.

Wounded-Appurtenance Incitement: The Monster doesn't care for others, but a threat to itself is unforgivable. Of course, the Monster is not so simple a creature as any mortal, whose identity extends no farther than their own skin casing.

The Rage induced by this Mythos will now activate whenever someone with whom you have a powerful bond with is harmed, or is threatened with harm, and you perceive it, in additional to the normal circumstances under which it may activate. A "powerful bond" can be a familiar, animal companion, special mount, a cohort gained from a Leadership or Wild Cohort feat, or any ally that is a child or grandchild. An Undead creature can never have this bond, even if they would otherwise qualify. Other bonds can be considered strong enough, at the discretion of the group.

Double the bonuses granted by this Mythos for the duration of any encounter in which a character that you had a powerful bond with dies.

Unbreakable Internal Restructuring
Prerequisites: One of “Bio-Organic Stamina Overdrive” or “Augmented Bone-Bolstering Empowerment” mythos

Through deep rooted unmaking and remaking of your bones, organs, and tissues, you have become undeniably more powerful, more resilient, and more tenacious.

Your strength score increases by 2 and you gain Diehard as a bonus feat. You gain a +5 Racial Bonus to saves against Poisons, Diseases, and Environmental effects (Such as extreme heat or cold)

You gain Damage Reduction X/Bludgeoning or Magic, where X is equal to half your class level. While you are below half your maximum hit-points, this becomes equal to your class level.

At level 10, this becomes Bludgeoning and Magic.

FANTASTIC MYTHOS

Hyper-Lethal Augment Mutation
Prerequisites:“Augmented Bone-Bolstering Empowerment” Mythos

Your innate abilities, the improved capacity for death and war that comes with the experimental sciences that made you, develop into still more powerful tools of destruction.

The Hardness of your bones (and by extent, your natural weapons granted by “Augmented Bone-Bolstering Empowerment”) doubles.

Your bone based natural weapons become Magical, granting a +1 enhancement bonus to attack and damage rolls. At 10th level, this bonus increases to +2, and they also bypass any damage reduction that may be bypassed by a special material (silver, cold iron, adamantine, etc). At 13th level, this bonus increases to +3, and they also bypass any damage reduction that may be bypassed by a particular alignment. At 15th level, this bonus increases to +4. At 17th level, this bonus increases to +5.

Advanced
Infiltration Specializing Tact (Requires “Precision Assassin Augment”): You gain a +2 Bonus to Dexterity and Constitution, and a +5 Racial bonus to saves against Poison, Disease, and Environmental effects (Such as extreme heat or cold).

When attacking a creature that is denied its dexterity bonus to armor class, you deal bonus precision damage with your bone based natural weapons equal to 1d6 per 4 class levels you have. This counts as Sneak Attack for purposes of Prerequisites.

You can make Hide and Move Silent checks at no Penalty while moving your full speed.

Limitation Shattering Wrath (Requires “Howling Berserker Augment”): You gain a +2 Bonus to Strength and Dexterity, and a +5 Racial bonus to saves against Poison, Disease, and Environmental effects (Such as extreme heat or cold).

As a swift action, you may fly into a rage, as described by the Barbarian class feature. Unlike a Barbarian, you do not become fatigued for raging. If you are below half your maximum hit-points when you initiate your rage, the numeric bonuses provided by the rage improve by 2. If you are in negative hit-points, they improve by 2 again.

You can make a full attack at the end of a charge.

Overpowering Bestial Magnitude(Requires “Rampaging Wildheart Augment”): You gain a +2 Bonus to Strength and Constitution, and a +5 Racial bonus to saves against Poison, Disease, and Environmental effects (Such as extreme heat or cold).

You gain Track as a Bonus Feat. You take no penalties for tracking at your normal speed, and only a -5 penalty for tracking at twice your land speed. You also gain Wild Empathy as a druid of your class level, and the Scent supernatural ability.

You grow in size one Category.

Unkillable Experiments Resolve
Prerequisites: Any one mythos granted by “Awakening Latent Weaponization”

You gain fast healing 1, which stacks with any other form of fast healing. This fast healing improves by one at levels 10, 13, 16, and 19. You are also immune to Death Effects. Even Removed limbs, melted eyes, or obliterated organs will regrow through your fast healing, with enough time, so long as you are alive.

As an added, bonus effect, your aging process slows dramatically. Multiply your expected lifespan by 20, including when you will become middle aged and venerable.

Advanced
Muscling Through Massacres: You gain Toughness and Improved Toughness as Bonus Feats and the Mettle class feature.

Recovering Through Ruin: You may now recover points of Ability Drain as if they were points of Ability Damage via natural healing.

Surviving Through Slaughter: You gain Great Fortitude, Lightning Reflexes, and Iron Will as Bonus Feats.

Wading Through War: You gain a percentage chance to ignore precision damage and critical hits. That percentage is equal to (5 x Your Class Level).

LEGENDARY MYTHOS

Fully Weaponized Metahuman Capability
Prerequisites: “Hyper-Lethal Augment Mutation” Mythos

Finally, your augments and mutations have become fully realized. You are become the apex of what science and genetic rewiring can do for you. You are the ultimate being, a living, breathing super weapon.

The Density and hardness of your bones increases by five times what it was, and are specifically immune to abilities that Ignore Hardness. For all intents and purposes, assuming no overwhelming outside force of destruction or molecular knowledge interferes, your bones are unbreakable. Your unarmed strikes deal damage as if you were two sizes larger from the sheer weight of your blows, as do any natural weapons granted by “Augmented Bone-Bolstering Empowerment”.

You gain a +2 Bonus to Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution. You now have fire, electric, and cold resistance equal to twice your class level. So idealized is your body that is supersedes the limits of your race, granting you a +5 Perfection Bonus on all Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution based checks or skills.

You are now immune to the fatigued, sickened, and shaken conditions. When you would be exhausted, you are instead fatigued. When you would be Nauseated, you are instead sickened. And when you would be frightened, you are instead shaken.

Basic
Apex Hunter Evolution (Requires “Overpowering Bestial Magnitude”): Your base land speed improves by 30 feet. You gain Cover your Tracks as a Bonus Feat, and are unnoticed by creatures with the Scent special ability. You gain a +5 Perfection Bonus (which stacks with existing perfection bonuses) on Animal Empathy, Knowledge (Nature), Listen, Survival, Spot, and Combat Maneuver checks. Lastly, you can survive twice as long as usual before requiring food, water, or breath.

Apex Mauler Evolution (Requires “Limitation Shattering Wrath”): Your base land speed improves by 20 feet. You gain Reckless Rage and Intimidating Rage as Bonus Feats. You gain a +5 Perfection Bonus (which stacks with existing perfection bonuses) on Climb, Intimidate, Jump, Listen, Spot, and Damage Rolls with Natural Weapons.

Apex Stalker Evolution (Requires “Infiltration Specializing Tact”): Your base land speed improves by 10 feet. You gain Multiattack and Dark Stalker as a Bonus Feat. You gain a +5 Perfection Bonus (which stacks with existing perfection bonuses) on Hide, Move Silent, Listen, Spot, Tumble, and Attack Rolls made with Natural Weapons.

You might wanna modify Retirbution Will Follow a bit. As is, there aren't any restrictions on your actions unless your a teramarch, because you lack the Monstrous Rage class feature. Plus, the copypasta fluff doesn't fit.

Minor nitpick, but unstable DNA mentions save DCs, but none of the exceptional (or actually, any of these Mythos) offer a save.

Added in the sidebar from The Omphalion to clear up confusions, and tweaked Uncanny DNA to not mention the non-existent saving throws that go on.

Alright listen bub, had a conversation with xefas a while back and the rage restrictions as class feature was more intended as like a side bar about all rages so I'd say its safe to assume that will be applied here. Also on the apex things I'm a little confused why stalker is definitively the best with +30 MS, I'd advise bringing them all in line with being equal.

Fair point. Nerfed X-23's movement speed and buffed Sabretooth's.

*looks at Unkillable Experiments Resolve* What, no mention of biological immortality (a.k.a. no aging or death from old age)? Two of the three inspirations have been alive since before the Civil War, after all.

Also, in Augmented Bone-Bolstering Empowerment, is the squaring applied to just the Strength modifier, or to the sum of the level and the Strength modifier? It's not clear which one right now.

Gave the G.D. some looooooooong lifespans, since they do grow up and grow older (Old Man Logan), just at a much slower rate, and modified the wording on Augmented Bone-Bolstering Empowerment. Bones have never been so unbreakable.

Might want to word the hardness as ((Your Level + Your Strength modifier) Squared). That'll make it easy for math majors like me to understand.

To be fair, I think it should not be squared. I mean, then it gets stupidly high even once you get to level 10 and have strength mod of +0, 100 hardness. You can get it earlier if you have okay strength. And if you have more... it just gets ridiculous. For an Exceptional Mythos.

How about it goes as far as Adamantine?

So if my bones density increases then my weight should also increase right? Want to make sure as the jaganntha (I think that's what it is, the demon spawning mythos class xefas made) has that mythos where you crush someone with your foot using your weight and if my weight increases from this template the That would make it easier to do that

Correct. How much it increases is up to you and the DM to decide, but it should definitely have a decently dramatic increase on your weight, as it does grant you Natural Heavyweight as feat.

Bones make up 10% of an average human's weight, with some degree of variation. I'd say increasing the density by a factor of 5 (effectively 50% of the average person's weight) is a good baseline at the very least.

In Bio-Organic Stamina Overdrive does that add your STR mod as a bonus or change the attribute these are based off of to STR?

No. The effects of Retribution Will Follow's various manifestation extends only to the rage described by Retribution Will Follow. It does not tweak or effect other rage effects, from the Teramach or otherwise.

Aight, just wanted to double check. If you have claws from your race, that are the same die size, would the claws granted by Augmented Bone-Bolstering Empowerment: Howling Berserker Augments override them or grant an increase of die size, it doesn't say (unless im blind) so I thought I should ask.

Key word:"rage granted by this mythos". Not rage granted by any other mythos.
