Hi Playgrounders,

A simple question:

Which stats should a standard clone trooper have? A Clone Pilot? A battledroid? Droideka?

Clonetroopers I would give STR, DEX, and CON 12-16 values (they were bred to be tough soldiers and some are the best natural athletes in Star Wars). INT and WIS should be non-negative but not super high (10-13) as while they are intelligent and aware, they aren't more so than other species and individuals. Charisma is likely their dump stat (8-11). They weren't trained for diplomacy and conversation and while they weren't especially bad at it and could pick it up, there are notable cases of Special Ops Troopers (read: better than normal troopers) learning super secret information and try to report to trustworthy authorities only for no one to believe them until it's too late.

True. And other clones? Droids?

Higher level troopers you should take the base stats of a normal trooper and give them some class levels. Clone Troopers fight, so the survivors earn XP and level up. I would just make them all Soldier/Fighters and give the more important ones more levels (Rex, Cody, Fives, Dogma, Heavy...)

Droids are harder. Normal Battle droids seem to be rather fragile in the face of weapons. Droidekas need to have their energy bubble against fast moving things (arrows, lasers, rocks, etc.), a slow movement speed (like 5'/round) while deployed, and a fast movement speed while rolling (40'/round?) and the ability to switch between them as an action.

Take a Veteran from MM, exchange heavy crossbow for a blaster?

Guard (maybe warforged) should work for a (normal) battledroid, with a Veteran or a Knight for Super battle droids. Droidekas are harder, but I think their shield could work as temporary HP, similar to abjurer's Arcane Ward

Battle droids and stormtroopers have disadvantage to hit with ranged weapons at all times.

The Stormtrooper Academy of Marksmanship is a thing for a reason.

Battle droid: Str 6-8, Dex 8-12, Con 4-8, Int 6-10, Wis 8-10, Cha 4-6.

Clone trooper: Str 12-16, Dex 12-16, Con 12-14, Int 10-12(rare 14s not part of standard spread), Wis 10-12, Cha 8-10

Clone pilot: as trooper, exchange Str for Wis.

Droideka: Str 6-10, Dex 14-16, Con 12, Int -(autonomous models Int 4-6), Wis 10-12, Cha 4-6

Regular clone: ability scores of base character +/- 1-5 points each ability score.

I'm not sure if you're explicitly or implicitly making this comparison, but Clone Troopers =/= Stormtroopers.

Clone Troopers received better training than Stormtroopers who actually had quite a bit of training - real and simulated before fighting, while Stormtroopers were more along the lines of conscripted soldiers with armor slapped on and a gun dropped in their laps.

Only Imperial Officers saw actual meaningful training.

If you have access to Star Wars Saga Edition I'd adapt from there.

Droid: Guard that's a Construct and has Construct traits (Immunity to Poison and Disease and w/e). Weapons upgraded to Blaster.

Stormtrooper: Guard. Weapons upgraded to Blaster.

Clone Trooper: Scout? Possibly a Guard with another hit dice attached and a bonus to Dexterity. Then upgrade Weapons to a Blaster, naturally. Scout could work well as-is with an Armor and Weapon switch (Should be armored equivalently to a Droid/Stormie).

Clone Commandos/ARCs/SBDs/Droidekas run the gamut of Veterans to Bandit Leaders to Knights.

Maybe something like an only-when-disadvantageous slight build for Battledroids, so they're medium sized and have medium weapons, but are counted as small, so can't grapple Large creatures
