So Ive been looking over Sage Advice.

If you cast a spell such as Healing Word, with a bonus action, you can cast another spell as another action but that spell must be a cantrip.

Now what I want to know is if this applies to a Sorcerers Metamagic "Quicken Spell". Also why cant you cast Healing Word and Cure Wounds in the same turn? Why limit it?

Player's Handbook, Page 202:

"Bonus Action - A spell cast with a bonus action is especially swift. You must use a bonus action on your turn to cast the spell, provided that you haven't already taken a bonus action this turn. You can't cast another spell during the same turn, except for a cantrip with the casting time of 1 action."

Specific trumps General.

Quicken Spell just changes the casting time of the spell, nothing more. So you're still limited to a cantrip for your main action spell.
