Hey, everyone! I'd like a little input on my setting. Here's the long version of the setting notes:

Nearly a thousand years ago, Earth fell. A swarm of alien monstrosities fell upon it, ravaging everything in their path. Nowhere was safe, no organic matter was not absorbed into the horde. 99% of the population of Earth was wiped out in a matter of 6 months. The survivors fled to the stars, taking as much as they could - raw materials, flora and fauna, and knowledge. Maybe a dozen habitable planets were known at the time, so humanity scattered as best it could.

Only one ship traveled to the farthest star - an immense red giant, nicknamed Odin by long-dead astronomers. The ship crash landed, and from it, the remnants of humanity emerged. They began immediately toiling away at the construction of a city, pulling from the wreckage of their now-unusable ship. Dozens of years later, the first city was finished. Humanity began to spread across the world, dominating the flora and fauna they found, beating it back from the edges of their land. Slowly, civilization began to re-emerge, and with it came warfare.

Byjorden is a planet at war, with everything and everyone. Vast tracts of land are uninhabitable due to nuclear fallout and magical catastrophe. Other portions of the planet are dominated by the fae, escaping their own decimated world into ours through tears in reality. Humanity only survives on Byjorden in massive Cities, bastions of civilization amongst the wilderness. Above, in the sky, orbit the giant worldships, nearly as large as the Cities themselves.

Humanity has spread through the solar system like a plague, adapting to hostile environments and colonizing everything they can. Genetic manipulation is so far advanced as to allow them to survive in nearly any environment, though they occasionally bear almost no resemblance to their forebears.

Hundreds of thousands of years ago, an immensely powerful race flourished on the face of Byjorden. Evidence of their civilization can still be found, carved into the very landscape. Towards the end of their species, this race began experimenting with genetic manipulation, becoming far, far more proficient with it than humanity has ever dreamed of. Their powers were massive - so massive that they nearly wiped themselves out. The survivors of this near self-genocide were the most powerful of that race - beings as great and terrible as gods, with no two resembling each other. They carved swaths of territory out of the world to rule over, until finally, they disappeared. Not dead, not left, not changed - simply disappeared.

The long and the short of it is that humanity lives on a post-apocalyptic world in massive city states, or in the surrounding solar system. Their technology and genetic modifications grant some of them near-magical powers, while others are barely recognizable as human. The constant, large scale warfare has lead to tears in reality through which the fae are invading our realm.
