Welcome to the Playground's fourteenth iteration of our thread for the popular mobile app game, Puzzle & Dragons!

Here we gather to discuss, praise, complain about, and generally just natter on for this fun and addictive app game.

The first step is to point all new players to one of the beginners' guides.

The Beginner's Guide on the padWiki (http://padwiki.net/wiki/New_Players%27_Guide") is one; obryn operates there, so give him a heads up if you're finding errors! It can lag behind the news at times, but it's nice, friendly, honest, and clear.

What is Puzzle & Dragons?

A Free-to-Play match-three game with surprising depth! The puzzle occupies the lower half of the screen, and the combinations you form power your team on the upper half of the screen in battle. Part pokemon, part bejeweled, part M:tG, all crack, this game is easy to learn, difficult to master and very well put together. Unlike many games of this kind, it defies genre by going for both depth and complexity while maintaining ease of pick up.

What, seriously?

Yup! While at it's surface, the game is basically any other puzzle game ever, the math behind damage output, the dungeon design, the team composition component and metagame, and the uniquely free-wheeling capacity of the puzzle make Puzzle and Dragons a stand-out despite it's terrible app graphic. It has surprisingly deep and fulfilling long-term play (at the moment, I've been playing for over 600 days), and new content comes out regularly.

So what do I need to know to get started?

First, the game itself! PAD, P&D or puzzle and dragons should all be sufficient searches to download it. It operates on Android and iOS devices, with mixed results on running it elsewhere.
Second, the beginner's guides will help a lot. You start out with one fast freebie pull on the game's real lure, the Rare Egg Machine, and a good pull here can save you a lot of frustration and also make the game much more fun. It's suggested that after you run the game a bit and get comfortable playing it, you "reroll" by uninstalling and reinstalling the application. Then you run through the tutorial again and do the free pull again, repeating until you snag a keeper (http://guide.padherder.com/Reroll_Tier_List). This is not half as bad as it sounds; it's pretty brainless, and goes by pretty quickly. If you can time your re-rolling to line up with a biweekly Godfest, you can save yourself even more frustration!
Third, friends. Good friends with compatible Leader skills are critical. When you enter a dungeon, you can bring a friend's leader with you as a member of your team; their leader skill operates alongside your own. We have a lot of great, experienced players here, with a lot of solid leaders. We can carry you when your own leader can't. Managing your leader and picking the right friend's leader is a critical part of the metagame. The GitP list is at the bottom of this thread; feel free to send any of us requests. If you have something like "@GitP" in your username, we'll know you're from this forum, and will accept your friend requests more readily!
Fourth, be stingy with stones! Magic stones are the in-app-purchase (IAP) resource, and while you get them for free pretty quickly early on, and even more on a regular basis, you'll regret being too free with their use early on. The four rules of magic stones are (1) Never pull the gold dragon Rare Egg Machine outside of a godfest; (2) You should have two monster boxes for every rank you have, and spending stones to Increase Capacity is almost never a bad idea; (3) It's generally not worth a stone to continue in a dungeon or refill your stamina until you have at least 100 stamina, and (4) No, really, don't pull the REM outside of a godfest, seriously.
Fifth, as a corollary to the above, there is a resource called Monster Points, of which the only way to obtain reasonable amounts is by selling monsters you rolled from the REM, i.e. stones. One of the potential ways to spend it is on evolution materials. This is generally about the least efficient use of your stones possible. If there's a rare material you can't currently obtain, you'll be much better off in the long run spending your resources on leveling your teams until you can, and all rare evolution materials can also be obtained randomly from the PAL machine during certain events (the news box beneath the machines will say when the Rare Evo Materials event is active).

As a closing note, Puzzle & Dragons is an immensely popular game, and there are a ton of fan-run sites for information. Most of them stay fairly up-to-date, so just go with what you prefer.

The PAD Wiki (http://www.padwiki.net) is volunteer-run, and can get out-of-date, but I think it has the friendliest format for finding information. It also has a ton of great guides and advice.
PuzzleDragonX (http://www.puzzledragonx.com) is generally the best-updated site out there, with the most current news and most complete data. It's the community's go-to resource for data, but doesn't have much in the way of advice.
PADHerder (https://www.padherder.com/) is a tool to track and manage your monster box, with some neat automated ways to update. It also has some good information pages.
PADGuide (Android (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dnt7.padguide&hl=en) / iPhone (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/padguide-all-about-puzzle/id651949209?mt=8)) is an awesome app which keeps very current with all data and can even alert you to Urgent! dungeons. (HIGHLY recommended; I can't live without it.)
The Puzzle and Dragons Forum (http://www.puzzleanddragonsforum.com/) is dedicated to PAD and has some pretty good (and some very old) guides.
The PAD Global (https://www.facebook.com/groups/PADGlobal/) Facebook group is for talking about PAD stuff on ... well, Facebook. It's a solid way to get more compatible friends, too, but it's not always nice to newbies.

I know for sure you can pull Hera-S out of her nuke if you heal her. It's how I killed her the first time. I don't think it works for ark guardian dragon though, and I'm not sure about any others.

I'm a little torn on whether I want to re-hypermax my Gronia. If they ever get around to giving her a good ult, maybe...

Anyone skilled in google docs want to set up a friendlist form? Ideally sorted by 'last update time' so that active members will be shown on top.

If not, I kind of have 3 descend leads now - AHorus, ABastet, and U2Kirin, while my farming leads are Superman and UGoemon.

So my DMeta team now has over 37k HP. Thats nice. I somehow completely missed the fact that she was getting a health boost, and then assumed it was like 1.15x. Turns out to be 1.35x. Very nice.

EDIT: Also, it definitely looks like I'll be using Awoken Sakuya once that is live....

Update to the leader list:
Descends - Hyper A. Shiva, A. Ra
Farms - Ronia, Athena

Been away for a while, pretty busy with medschool again. Been working on plussing up my A. Shiva team (Kagu is almost finished, Urd will be next!), with all my flampies going to Kagu (first almost finished, then gotta start on the second). A. Shiva has been incredibly fun. The power paired with the consistency and reliability is insanely satisfying. The only thing that stumps me is binds, I don't have a good red bind clearer. Ronia is decent with her bind clears, but requires 6 heart orbs on the board, and I have no way of making hearts outside of Urd actives, which I don't want to use if some essential cards are bound.

After selling all my REM dupes, I ended up with 346K. I was thinking of buying Ra Chicken when he comes around, but since I have exactly 0 Kali's I was doubting myself. ShivaDog I don't really want to buy since 1. I have A. Shiva, and 2. I don't have his top tier subs. Ra Chicken was the only shamedragon I was excited to get, but with my sub pool being limited I may hold onto all these points until they release something new and OP :smalltongue:

After seeing the tweaks to A. Kirin, I'm definitely going to swap my evo (and stockpiling pii's) and use her Awoken Form. Covering the blue spot, as well as having insane utility with both her awakenings and active makes her a huge draw. She's also going to put out respectable damage with her combo scaling. I'm VERY excited to see her come to NA!

When Ame no Uzume's new ult comes out, that will be the go to for red bind clear, I think. Good stats and awakenings, bind immune, and her active clears binds. It's everything you want.

Either way works, I'll just have to set up the find&replace function to recognize the inputs. The links and images are showing up correctly right? I remember at some time the pdx images couldn't be linked to, but they seem to be working again on my end.

Derp just realized this won't work well for someone that runs two accounts. If you were submitting both of them, your second one might have overwritten your first one. I think I'll cancel the "same user" setting and just let you submit multiple times and delete repeats manually.

Ah, right, new thread. the friend list entry for me hasn't been updated in quite awhile. I now use several different leaders. I guess I'll list my popular leaders which are level 80 or higher:
Main Lead (both farming and descend dungeons): Marvelous Red Dragon Caller, Sonia (1645)
Other Descend Leads: Sparkling Goddess of Secrets, Kali (1747), Sacred Dragon Princess, Da Qiao (1744), Divine Wardens, Umisachi & Yamasachi (1297), LMeta (1217)

The google form has an option to only allow a single submission (probably to help reduce the impact of trolls), but that would lock out anyone with more than one account, regardless of how the list is organized.

I'd actually prefer IDs or colloquial names, the full names are so long that they get truncated. The links/images don't show up yet because I have to run the find&replace function to change them (unless someone knows how to do it automatically?), so don't be worried if it doesn't show up immediately.

Keep in mind that it's going to be of little use to list a lead you rarely run, since your friends won't be able to see them anyways. A friends list is a place to help others find helpers, not a place to brag about rare rolls
If you haven't touched the lead in a week (a month, if you want to be generous/it's a low cost lead), it probably shouldn't be listed.

PS: Is 5 'others' too limiting? I set it to 5 cause that's how many teams I run myself :smalltongue:

I think five is plenty, given the intent of the form, and also that the main three already cover most of what the average player will have available regularly. (For me, for example, three others would have been fine; AKarin and Sparkles were just tossed in there as potentially useful leads to others, given that I run them only under very specific circumstances.) I think it's fine to put rarely-shown-but-useful stuff in the 'others' pool, though, since it lets people know they can ask for it if needed.

Noted on IDs rather than names; had IDs in there at first, switched them over 'cause nothing was happening and I didn't realize the find-and-replace function was a manual thing.

Agreed. I have more than 5 top tier leaders fully awoken, skilled, etc., but that is only if I include stuff I only lead for very specific dungeons. So not worth including.

Anyone here cleared true endless no rcv? I feel like the strategy is basically just blow up everything, but I don't think I currently have the damage and consistency for it.

Cleared all the descend challenges except for Devil Rush and Wadatsumi. For the life of me I can't remember what teams I used for those in the past. All the others were cleared with AShiva. Kagu is now one skillup away from hyper (the free flampy from the stream will take care of that), and then it's a matter of plusing Yamato for a hyper team. This past weekend was the Amazing Hawaii Comic Con which took up all my time so I didn't get to farm pluses. (I did get a pic with Stan Lee, so it was worth missing x3 normals. :smallsmile:) After that tho, I again need to decide where to send my pluses. Maybe Shivadog (who is finally max awoken)? I still need to skill up my Ares tho (keeping my first one at the old uvo; made one of the new uvos but need a few more skills on him).

Other than red and light (finally finished skilling up ARa!), I've got a number of piis saved up and not sure what to spend them on. I still didn't pull the trigger on feeding woodpys to ABastet so I'm sitting on 5. Maybe AMeimei is a good target? Then again, jewels skill her now so that might be a waste. AParvati? Got 2 or 3 bubpys and not sure where to go with that (maybe ALakshmi, who is 2 away from max skill). No idea what to do with my 6 badpys tho. Thought about AHaku but again, jewels skill her up now. Well if it makes a difference, I have no regrets whatsoever about skilling up my Batman with Pii's.

I do regret using them on Haku, since her skill will change when I bother to awaken her. I really didn't want to use chasers.

Added my name and whatnot to the google docs thing-o. My leads aren't hypermaxed or anything special, but there they are. The only one who's max level at the moment is Lu Bu, I'm working on DQXQ but only got them to 47.

Ran Chivalrous Thief from the descend challenges last night and ran The Goddess Descended this morning since it was up. Smashed through them both with my Lu Bu team. The Valk I can find a use for, since I'm working on the DQXQ team (which isn't looking too shabby, despite my massive lack of tamadra) but the Goemon I'm not too sure what I can do with it, other than keep it for the sake of having it.

Yeah, it's been astounding. I'm chocking that up to being very particular about when I roll - for example, I currently have 50 stones saved. In 175 or so days, I have only spent something like three stones on continues, and typically only when there was good reason. Also, that's just leaders... I also have GZL, A.Meimei, Griffin Rider, Marine Rider (who is kind of a troll but wow useful for Bastet), LKali (leader, but sub for Sakuya), and my whole Andromeda team - Andromeda, Karin, Hatsume, and Marine Rider. Just need to skill them up. My luck on the REM there has been obscene.

::Edit:: LMeta. Isis. And a few more. Yeah... I should really count off the stuff I've collected and see what the ratio of good rolls to troll rolls was.

Got the skillup on my DMeta from the extreme tamadra today, which puts her at max skill. And I only had to spend two badpies!

Also evo'd and uvo'd Batman, so now he's in the Batmobile. He's kicking Loki off my Typhon team as soon as I finish awakening him and get him some more levels.

Ran Super King Carnival last night, spent the stone I got from completing it for a refresh, and ran it two more times. Oodles of XP.

Kind of disappointed we're not getting jewel invades this event: I need one more for AMeimei, and Guan Yinping is coming around on the 3rd or 4th so I can pick her up too.

Also giving in and going to reult my Isis into AIsis.

Goemon has the highest guaranteed spike in the game so far - I've posted so many damage pics it's borderline obnoxious. He's not even hard to play anymore after ult since you have an HP reset. Sub 2 minute clear time on King of the Gods with a farmable team is cool too, if you're into min-maxing.

My luck on the REM there has been obscene.

Takaoka collab is here, and my Monster Box smells like fish. Ran XP of a Lifetime event, and I'm THIS CLOSE *Holds up hands, with forefinger and thumb barely touching to demonstrate how close* to triple digit team cost.

My tablet will end up the same, I suspect. Trying to max skill stupid Amberjack. I might not bother, though, since those spots are becoming increasingly competitive.

I just finished it, but I stoned the last form because I suck. All the challenge is in the final form, and possibly if you have trouble consistently making 6 combos.

I think for the final form, you either need an ongoing buff (so he'll clear that instead of binding) or some kind of bind immune leaders/bind clear etc. No mid level team is surviving multiple turns there while doing no damage. Most teams can survive his blind, so you want to do some damage during the 75% reduction, clear the bind, do a good chunk and either hope for the blind or get him to the point where he heals 10% and makes poison orbs, then try to burst him dead from around 60% (which is definitely doable).

I've seen a Lmeta team do it. Good hp from the multiplier now and the light element and active burst make her really strong at finishing him off quickly. I did it with Ashiva but I had to stone the final form. If I were better at comboing or had more skyfall luck I might have been able to do it without stoning.

edit: oh so for the floors, most everything is easy. The heavy metal dragon you just want to use your free turns to do the 4 million damage while preserving as many actives as possible. First form Zaerog8 is just asking whether you can do 6 combos twice in a row or not with the second one having a 1 second orb move time reduction. If yes, you kill him, if no, he kills you, team comp is pretty irrelevant. Final form, as I mentioned, is a huge jerk who's legitimately pretty hard to deal with.

I had no trouble 0 stoning it with ABastet/Saiga Another/Verdandi/Meimei/Liu Bei/ABastet following the top post of this thread (https://www.reddit.com/r/PuzzleAndDragons/comments/3m5og6/joy_official_zaerog_bragteam_thread/).
Even if you're not running Bastet, that post gives you a good idea of what happens on each floor and what needs to be done.

Final form is easy if you're running Bastet: Activate Bastet first turn to avoid bind, bring him under 50% second turn to get him to full heal, free kill third turn since you only need to do 6.26 mil damage (3.13 mil really since it's going to be a full water bar).

Ah yeah, the active. That's a good way to do it, since having a buff going means he won't bind you and Kushi saves you from the 100% gravity if you miscalculate a nuke.

Kushi isn't really needed, I just tossed a blue res latent on my Meimei as insurance even though I ended up not needing it since I overkilled it by quite abit from 100%.

My phone runs an unplussed Bastet team, and it's taken me a little learning to get to the point I can do it, but I've zero-stoned it there. It's not so bad.

::Edit:: A.Bastet//GZL/Liu Bei/A.Meimei/Sasuke//A.Bastet, all max skilled. I do feel like it's missing something, sometimes, but forcing Zaerog to dispel usually gives me a turn that I can do whatever I want.

I am loving the Zaerog8 dungeon, folks. Great drops and amazing rank XP. I was going about 70%, but I've tightened up my A. Ra strategy and have won the last 8 in a row.

Z8 is a solid leader, an amazing sub, and better than many Gold REM pulls. It's very important to max skill him, though, since max skilling a Haste is like skilling up all your other monsters, too.

Apart from Floor 9, the dungeon is pretty straightforward, too. I love it.

Yeah, Zaerog dungeon was tough, but good. I loved the experience from it, and I managed to farm fifteen Zaerogs. Two are kept, thirteen fed off - managed seven skill ups out of that. If I'm going to have ONE monster be totally outside of the bell curve, I will happily accept it being him! Particularly since I have to skill up two of these beasts. :smalltongue:

Now, if only I had a jewel of darkness to evolve the damn thing...

It's a very fun dungeon. Different. I personally thought all the challenge was on Floor 9 because it's just too easy to get orb-screwed when you have no actives. I died there with Shiva a few times. When I switched over to A. Ra, though, I had a 100% success rate once I zeroed in on a strategy and learned what I could soak/stall.

It's very fun and very rewarding. Great rank XP, solid monster XP, and you can max skill your grape dragon for the hell of it.

If you have problems with 9, btw, just put a Genie on your team. Activate before blasting Heavy Metal on 8, soak the two nukes, and then use some kind of true damage active like Ra or poison.

Pretty stock, frankly. Subs were DKali, LKali, GL Susano, and LMeta. All colors unbindable with a bind clearer for LKali on 10. Enough skill boosts that Susano only took like 4 rounds to be ready. Susano's shield was key for emergencies - usually on the Pengdra/dragon phases where I didn't have a good board.

You really only need your main colour up once though if you're running mono colour, I've never actually experienced enough of an orb screw for me to fail it because of not doing enough damage. I found the key was to always have 3 of your main colour stacked in a corner on floor 8 so that even if you get orb screwed on the second set, your off colours should still do enough damage to bring him under the 50% mark.

Yeah, I guess that's true. I was running with ABastet this weekend where only AMeimei had green sub so I never really noticed it as much. Also helped that I usually popped my Verdandi before killing the Heavy Metal which meant I usually had excess of my two main colours heading into floor 9.

The 4x GFE is interesting to me. I'm tempted... Gala of Fire gives me a shot at Kagatsuchi, and 4x GFE gives me a better shot at the Rodins and Kalis that I crave on my phone. I'm not sure about my tablet, it's kind of vague on what it's looking for - maybe something to build Awoken Kirin around, in which case a second Kali would be very nice. And I do have 56 stones on the tablet... maybe I'll roll once, and if I get something I'm really happy about, roll again until I get something "meh".

The only thing that interests me in there right now is Liu Bei, who would absolutely be a top tier roll on either account, but not really enough to carry the weight of two pantheons on his own right now.

Not a lot to add but need to mark the thread.

Had quite a few attempts to finish Hera-Ur, Wadatsumi, and Hera-Beorc challenges but just keep comping up short with every team I tried. Some I'm sure is due to reduced skill from last of playing constantly like I used to and some are probably due to being sick. Spent Thursday and most of Friday in the hospital but I'm doing good now.

Meh. I rolled on it once for giggles (Batchix), but it basically comes down to a couple of okay low cost leaders, a lot of troll silvers, and a couple good 1% gold eggs, if memory serves from last time.
Collab golds are 5%, chibis are the ones with 1%. And I actually find DC to have the least amount of troll silvers - Flash, Aqua and Bats are slimes with stats and WW is a delay. Green arrow is arguably the only real troll, since there's a lot of green enhancers nowadays. If you're talking whaling until you get both golds, then it's not really a silver problem - I think you'd be just as pissed with 8 Bastets as you would with 8 wonder wimmen.
Then again, this is coming from someone who is possibly the owner of the only hypermax wonder woman in existence

I'd actually recommend Jurai into trying it once or twice. Going double batgirls with 2 vamps/2 cdks is a team 10x better than what he has now...

It'd be pretty gungtroll if they release ults for the Supes as soon as the collab ends, though :smallbiggrin:

Let's see. I gave up on the various challenges, too much stamina drain and not enough stones to go around. I finished C1-8 and every descended challenge except True Demon realm. I just don't have the damage for it without Kagatsuchi, I think. I always fail at Satan or have to burn actives and can't deal with Beelz after.

With all the new flowerdragons and collabs and such, I'm just gathering up stones and XP for various things. Shiva is close to hypermax though, just need 13 attack eggs.

I somehow rolled 2, and I evolved one to use with Horus back when he was attacker type, and kept the other unevo for low cost - going 4x rowdy goblin does decent damage, and the 2x RCV and non-red leader mean you can stall through fire binds.

D/D bats is worse than Okunishi, as well as being overshadowed by D/L bats. WW's only competitors are Valkitty which is a collab gold, and my melody, which also has trash tier stats.

Having a delay on bastet can be pretty nice.

EDIT: Wow, ALeilan made quick work of Kaguya-Hime Mythical.

ALeilan//Cinderella/ABastet/chibi leilan/Echidna//ALeilan. Hypered friend, +103 on my Leilan and +97 distributed throughout the rest of the team. Only sticky point was getting Amaterasu close enough to 40% to one-shot without pushing her over into the Danger Zone. I could've used Echidna there, but I saved her for Kaguyahime herself. Didn't really need to though: knocked her to just under 50% through comboing, used Cinderella to clear the bind on Bastet, then ALeilan > ABastet > combo.

Looking at the dungeon, it looks like AMeimei might have an even easier time with this place, though you wouldn't have Echidna on-color to lean on.

I hate running Kaguya when invades are active. Tamadra replaced YomiTama for me. So I'd taken the skydragon preemptive, there's no recover, and the tama ensures at least two turns of no skills. Tama! Tama! Dead. Grrrr.

I can vouch for Kali (from a totally biased perspective). LKali's made a great leader and has helped me clear some top level content, including Hera Rush. She's also going to be a star sub (twice over) on my Awoken Ra team, along with her sister DKali. And if I ever happen to fall into having three DKali, I will absolutely be buying a Ra Dragon, and fielding all of them alongside something like Awoken Orochi, or Awoken Isis if I ever pull her on my phone. Those board-change actives are just too good for their 7 cooldown, their colors are super nice, and their leader skills are .. well, they're a step below Kirin and Ra Dragon, but either one can hit 36x damage, and can facilitate that with their own actives. That's hard to turn up your nose at.

However, I notice that Phoenix Rider isn't mentioned in the Gala of Flame. I'm a little sad about that.. I'd love it if my nephew picked one up, that active is really great for his Urd team. I was expecting it to be in there, but at least Nim is. He's got his heart set on picking up Nim.

It's a shorter, easier Legend Coin Dungeon. It's mostly notable for being easy (for high rank players) to quad-coin with 2 Ganesha leads and a bunch of prongs.

Godfest results: Skuld and Lu Bu #2. I think I'm going to keep the dupe Lu Bu around for low-costs maybe (he is only 15 cost) or for when 3k gets awoken forms.

Pretty juiced about Skuld though. Sarasvati and Andromeda are pleased.

I can't say I've gotten anything particularly thrilling. Picked up Yamato Takeru, Maeda Keiji, Ares, Krishna, and Ronia on my tablet; I could improve my Goemon team with that, but I really don't see much reason to put anything more than maybe Ares on there. I was tempted to stop with Maeda, but ended up stopping with Ronia because I genuinely have no reason to use her on that account. At least Maeda was novel. The hope was to pick up some red prong cards for use with Awoken Shiva, instead I picked up a bunch of row cards. And the best leader of the group, Krishna, doesn't really have a lot of synergy with rows, except maybe on 4x5 boards where it'll be a pain to hit three red combos including a row. Suppose I could run Yamato Takeru as a similar leader to my Andromeda team... meh. I still have 35 stones, I'll have to decide if I want to spend more, and whether I want to drop them today or tomorrow.

Hmm, not exactly what I was hoping for, but Sanada could work decently in conjunction with Cao Cao. I don't have enough on-type fire monsters to really take advantage of it yet, though.

I'm running GValk/Griffin Rider/GL Meimei/Perseus. I just ulted Sasuke, who I might put in for Griffin Rider in poison-heavy dungeons, or for GValk in No RCV dungeons. I might also sub in Thumbelina for binds or Kushi for shields. I just wish I had Vishnu or Liu Bei.

I'm a bit late since you already rolled, but Lubu is a great pickup if you suck at the game, as well as most of the GF exclusives (minus red and blue odin, which are very niche) Yukimura is actually a great pickup, though not because of any particular synergy with Shiva, as 4 rowdy samurais works fantastically on him (80% enhanced red orbs, matching 5 gives you 27.5x ATTACK. Yuki + 4x rowdy is quite possibly the strongest possible team you can make as a low ranked player, as it only requires 55 cost. To give you some understanding of how OP it is...a single 5-match with enhanced orb with no other combos nets you 356,000 damage, with a level 50 unevo Yuki and 4 rowdys. Throw in another red match and a few other combos and you're looking at a million damage a turn, especially with your team of SIX orbchangers. And is it merely 'coincidence' that both Yuki and rowdy have 1158 attack...it's fate I tell you!

Um. Yes. Yes, I did. :smalltongue: My tablet is magic, I don't know why. I just wish I had more use for the stuff I rolled, nothing there is useful to the teams I wanted to boost. I also just had a coworker do a roll for me, got Satsuki. Kind of neat, if I make Awoken Yomi I could maybe see Satsuki being useful on that team.

Um. I get the same thing, on my phone. You know, my IAP account? I have no idea why my tablet is the one where I go "Oh, five six Gods in a row? Meh, they're all red row stuff, I'm not working on that right now". I bet that with that selection of subs I rolled today, I could make a pretty impressive Yamato team. The only reason I won't is A) I have Awoken Shiva, and B) I have an Andromeda team. If I'm going to play a team that's similar to something else I'm running, it had better be top tier, and I don't think Yamato would be. Good, sure, but not top tier.

I know I had your Sallera account for a long time, just not this one I guess. It took about 100 king dragons to level up the team (I leveled up a Karin team too), but afterwards it was a reasonably easy clear. You can heal a surprisingly amount with 1100 RCV when you're averaging 8 combos a turn :smalltongue:

If you want a delay, AOrochi is probably better than SQ for ARa since you don't really need a slime but from what I've read, AIsis is better if you don't need the delay.

If you want a delay, AOrochi is probably better than SQ for ARa since you don't really need a slime but from what I've read, AIsis is better if you don't need the delay.

A.Isis would absolutely be my top pick.. if I had one on my phone. Unfortunately, my options for B/G are currently limited to TDD, Muse, and soon A.Orochi. That last is likely going to be my standard go-to, until I pick up Isis.

The big win is Liu Bei. Once he's powered up and awoken, my A.Bastet team will be perfected. A.Bastet//GZL/Liu Bei/A.Meimei/Griffin Rider//A.Bastet. NOTHING WILL STAND IN MY WAY MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

::Edit:: And my Andromeda lineup will change, too. Andromeda//A.Karin/Hatsume/Brodin/Noah//Andromeda, once Noah's ult comes out. 9 skill boosts (Andromeda, Karin, Hatsume online turn 1). 100% skill lock resist. ELEVEN rows. Three fingers. So, I ulted Shiva into Karmic Destroyer, and I'm enjoying the expanded LS, especially since Sumire and Mar Midgard are mainstays of my team since they have such high levels. Trying to get a fifth stone, see if I can pull something good. Is there anything good on tomorrow's round of the Godfest?

Well, all the Godfest Exclusives are still in there at 4x, which is great. And while I'm still not sold on the Sengoku stuff, the Greco-Romans are all very solid subs. Particularly if you pick up Ares, with the red focus.

In other news, one of my phone's pulls today was another LKali (#3). With this, I can potentially field A.Sakuya//Kali/Kali/Kali/A.Orochi//A.Sakuya when she comes around, which amuses me. However, I've inadvertently solved a growing box space issue; I had 48 Angelits saved up. Kali needs five skill ups to max her skill. I am currently 4/48 on 2.5x skill up, and have had a dry run of the last 23. This has become utterly ridiculous.

Didn't get any noteworthy GFEs that I didn't already have but I've increased my choice of Red subs quite a bit with the addition of Uriel, Cao Cao, Belial, Sanada, Markab #2/3 and Leilan #3. On the other hand, with the third LKali I pulled last night, I will be able to do A.Sakuya//LKali/LKali/LKali/A.Orochi//A.Sakuya, and Isis isn't necessary because Sakuya can handle binds. So that's... something.

A double orb changer combined with an orb enhance is an incredible active skill. In spite of being dark and devil typed, he can't really be used well with Ronia due to the active skill eliminating fire orbs. However, once I get DMeta's ultimate form, they could go well together.
Also, it's brand new, so it's eventual UVO is likely to be really good.

Yeah, they do! But don't overlook Ra Dragon's own Active, which can let you cycle through a single DKali pretty quickly.

I was able to manage LL Ra just fine with mainly a team of defensive subs. DKali was the icing on the cake, mind you, but DKali + 3 defensive/utility subs would be quite viable.

You really want at least one, though. (But if you HAVE two, yes, use both of them.)

Not sure what I'm going to do with them. Mitsuhide seems interesting in that it is at least implied that any color of 5 orbs with an enhance gets the boost. Not really sure what I'll use him for. Maybe if I ever get that Gaia I need for Awoken Hades.
Sumire might be good if I ever ran a straight blue team, I have quite a few good options for said team but haven't actually tried using one. She might make a useful leader on her own too. I could actually see her as a decent sub on my Horus team in certain circumstances.

I'm surprised no one has yet mentioned the new awoken Norse gods yet. Freyr becomes an amazing Urd sub. Since the three they've shown are all the same I'm going to assume the last 2 are as well. They all make decent but not amazing leaders (all being essentially Sonias for a color instead of type), and they could have great use as subs on some teams now.

Also Horus is getting a slight buff, his ATK boost is now to everything instead of just gods and devils, so he has his complete freedom of sub choice back.

My main complaint with the awoken Norse is their active. If the cooldown were a few turns shorter, or the buff lasted two turns to leave them with their old niche of the multiple-turn slime, I'd be a lot more excited. As is, they're fairly solid but nothing special aside from the double SBR.

While not strictly superior, I'd go with a more defensive option of Echi/Liza/Valk/Kirin, WW for Valk on noRCV. Mostly because four of the five are already hyper, which means I can completely max out another team (Bastet or Goemon)

It's going to be a bit before I can get an extreme metal dragon (probably going to have to hope they give me one in the mail during an event, I don't think I can get one through descends with my current teams).

There's a guerrilla dungeon that features fatty metal that isn't quite as bad, and it's also possible to get one from the jewel/metal PAL machine carnival (heavily luck based, of course).

Yeah, as Sallera said, the Extreme Metal dungeon is completely do-able without an amazing team. What you need are a few ways of bypassing monster defense.

Fortunately, you have a number of options right now, if you can make them work. Something as simple as a high HP lead, a few Darkseids/Banes/Mystic Masks, and a buddy A.Ra can win it for you. (Poison can also work, but it'll have to be the Rodin/Neptune kind instead of the Lilith/Ghostring kind. Otherwise, just be sure you only use poisoners on 1 & 3 and keep your high-damagers for 2 & 4.) The key will be to stall on 1 & 3 as long as you can, and nuke the daylights out of 2, 4, and 5. Awoken Ra auto-kills the fatty dragon, so make sure he's around for that. :smallbiggrin:

The simplest strategy I can think of is to bring an A.Ra buddy, 1-2 Mystic Masks/Darkseids, a heart-maker, and enough HP/RCV to tank the stronger-than-normal Jewel Dragons on 1 & 3 until all your skills come up.

Heh. Yes, yes it was. My luck has not been much better with DKali... I haven't counted, but I'm definitely on the wrong end of the bell curve for her, too. Kind of tempted to dump Badpy into her, we'll see. She "only" needs two more... she's picked up three skill ups from 20 or so, I'd estimate. Maybe 25, I've fed off at least 14 today and I know I was near to ten or so when I first pulled her. Plus what I gathered last week.

I also picked up Keiji, one on each account I think. I have no plans to use either, though.

In unrelated news, I got Guan Yinping from Mythical today, which gave me a stone since I apparently never beat it? So I bombed a bunch of stored XP I to her, evo'd her, then fed her to Meimei. I have AMeimei now, so wootsauce.

I also had some leftover XP that I fed to my spare Amberjack, who I evo'd and fed off immediately to ult my Udon. So now I have awoken soup that's probably earning a seat on my ALeilan team: on color, on type, and has a 4k healing active and 2k autoheal. Considering that team's terrible RCV, that's helpful.

Yeah, Merlin's probably the hardest one to skill up there. I don't know if it's 40% or 50% drop rate, but for me the problem is that it's the only floor with two monsters spawning. Even if it's a 50% drop rate, there's a further 50% chance you get Poison Ivy instead. Total bullocks. On the bright side, I've almost completed a Darkseid, so.. :smallconfused:

I was especially worried about Z&H. I've spent most of today's phone stamina failing at Sonia Gran in between playing D&D, stupid mistakes mostly. Tablet has done DC all day, and gotten nothing worthwhile out of it. I'm toying with just ending that project, given that Beast Rider's getting retired soon enough anyway. I really want to get those last two skill levels.. I may take a break long enough to pick up Cleopatra prior to Medjedra coming around, though. Awoken Isis!

In other news, I gotta say, having that second Kali has made all the difference on my A.Ra team. I was able to handily vaporize the Legend Plus Devil Rush this morning.

Also, while I am looking forward to Awoken Susano, having my existing Susano ready by Turn 4 is pretty awesome, too. 50% block for 5 rounds is very helpful.

Yeah, my tablet's A.Bastet team blew Devil Rush away with hilarious ease. My phone actually lost - I'm starting to think that my tablet is actually stronger than my phone, despite being 200 days shorter, 200 ranks lower, and zero IAP. Which is terrifying, given that I haven't even put Liu Bei on the team yet - still working on ranking him up. He'll be a shoe-in for the spot Marine Rider currently occupies.

In other tablet news, I had a thought last night : I could make a pretty solid Isis team, using most of what I had for my Andromeda team. A.Isis//Andromeda/Beast Rider/Siegfried/Blodin//A.Isis hits all colors, needs to match any 3 to do 3x damage, and gets 1.5x damage for using an active - which Isis herself can provide on 2/3 of turns. As soon as I got a Reine, she would take Siegfried's spot. Eight or nine rows, lots of TPA, 100% skill lock resist, bind recovery via Isis (which I've been SO lacking on my tablet, having to awkwardly sub in LMeta on Bastet team), and a reliable 15% damage reduction. Probably not as strong as Bastet, but I think this team could output some pretty impressive numbers. At least, enough to cover me until the day I can produce a good A.Sakuya team.

Yes, high ATK with 3 prongs is awesome ... but Vishnu has that covered, too. And while Liu Bei's skill isn't always even ready by the end of a dungeon, I can sometimes use Vishnu's twice.

As I mentioned, I pulled Verdandi in the last godfest, and she's obviously going onto my Bastet team since board changers are vital in 2015 PAD. But I'm considering the heresy of heresies and replacing Liu Bei instead of my other subs (GValk or Osiris) once Verd is ready for prime time. (It'll probably actually be Osiris for now, but once he gets his Ult Evo and if I skill him up 1-2 more times, it'll be Osiris>Liu Bei. A max skill Osiris is pretty amazing, TBH. 4-turn cooldowns are awesome for Bastet, and his skill is useful 100% of the time. And wow, that must have taken luck or devotion; I could not get those green devilcats to drop.

Once his Uvo comes around, he'll be particularly handy since ABastet teams don't always have a ton of +orb awakenings. (Mine doesn't anyways.)

Just a lot of time, mostly; I was skilling up Kopis (for no real reason) at the same time, so it didn't feel quite so frustrating. I should level him, definitely; pretty sure I have a spare green snowglobe sitting around, and he can replace Sasuke for more reliability, or ACeres when I don't need the bind clear. Keeping GZL and AParvati on the team, since they're the only hypermaxes I have on that account.

My angelit stockpile got destroyed - I'm still sore about that. I had 48 of the damn things, pulled a third LKali, and dumped every single one of them into her on 25% skill up chance. Got 4 skill ups, and had to farm three more to get the last boost. 25 long dry run on 25% chance pissed me off, I'm just glad that I'd had them around anyway. And now my DKali is taking lessons from her sister, go figure.

My skillup luck has been all over the place. Got pretty lucky with my Satsuki and went 3/5 (keeping 2 last devilits for...I dunno, whatever might come between today and Friday that might need it). But other mons have been pretty rough to skillup. Didn't have as many blue trifruit saved as I thought (I think I must have fed them earlier just to make box space; I usually have tons of them but only have 2 right now), so can't work on Sumire yet.

Also have 10 yellow chasers awaiting evo, but with this rotation I'm thinking maybe I should just feed them away instead of wasting time working on them.

Yeah, my completionist mentality is a pain as well. Problem with me tho, is that I have a tendency to wait till the last minute to run things and then just flat out run out of time to get the skillups done. With Hera-Is being up today for red jewels, I might just spam it to death to see if I can get some invades and attempt to skill ALeilan. We'll see.

Oh and Sallera, was it you that was looking for friend Ilm leads? I have a max level and max awoken one, but 2 skills short of max. Lmk if and when you need him up and I'll put him up for you. (Probably best to message me in game for that tho; not always able to check here, at least not as often as I check the game.)

So my Yamato is now +185, and once I finish him off my AShiva team will be hypermaxed (excluding latent awakenings, of course; hmm...if I'm missing those, does that mean that the card isn't hypered anymore?). No idea where to go next tho. I've all but abandoned my devil teams (Ronia and Lu Bu haven't seen action in weeks). Haven't done anything with Shiva Dragon yet (haven't even tested it out; still need to finish up skilling up my uvo Ares, and have to work on a second). I'm thinking maybe I should start plussing my ARa team? I could start with ARa then move on to the Kalis. Or, is there some new flavor of the month team that I should be considering?

I don't think my phone would help much - Hypermax LKali slot 1, Goemon max skill for best friends, and generally cycle max skill A.Bastet and Lu Bu for recently used. Today I have my skill 5 Rodin up for Sallera. I'm also working on A.Ra, who will likely eventually take over to LKali as my primary Light team.

My tablet might be more useful, purely because it's got a hypermax Bastet. I also have a max skill Goemon on best friend there, largely because I find it super convenient to have access to that on both accounts constantly. Recently used is generally that Bastet, but I do have an Isis I'm about to get to Awoken form that I may start using, and if I happen to get good red prong subs for him, I'll start using A.Shiva.

Both accounts have Sakuya, and will eventually get her Awoken form.

Is anybody considering picking up Neptune Dragon? I never really felt it was a consideration, but I've been seeing a few posts in PAD forum that has me thinking that maybe I should revisit that? (Tho again, I haven't even used my Shiva Dragon yet, so...)

Neptune Dragon is neat, but I don't think I'll bother. It seems really good in comparison to Andromeda, though I think that Andromeda's active helps make a dungeon easier overall. Right now I don't have enough points to get another shamedragon anyway (picked up Shivadog on my phone, since I realized he can make a pretty wicked row team and I had lots of good subs for that - or I can sub him on A.Shiva to cycle actives more quickly).

::Edit:: I am pledging something, right now. If they give Gronia an ultimate truly worthy of her, then the next Shamedragon I can afford will be picking up Odin Dragon. Such a good defensive sub!

I can't say I am; Athena is just such a powerhouse, and doesn't require you to carry Grodin into battle. If she had a better selection of awakenings, perhaps - and maybe one day we'll see her get an ult that gives her that. But Athena is straight up stronger right now, and doesn't require one specific REM monster to get her full boost.

Yikes. Just realized I took one day off from farming DC dungeon on my tablet, to blast apart all of the devil dungeons (minus Dragon Zombie; I do not have a dragon team worth bothering with). So I took one day off from skilling up Beast Rider, to gather one of each jewel, plus two max level snow globe dragons. That is... really quite silly. Particularly since my phone couldn't match that achievement, due to failing once in devil rush and not getting a rank up refresh.

On the bright side, I got to play with LKali team on my phone again. Some of my Bastet skills are very transferable it seems, though I'm very interested to see how this plays out when I get Sphinx for A.Ra. My Kali team's biggest weakness is a lack of defense (no skill lock resist, no bind recovery) and a lack of time extends (three in total). Ra fixes some of those problems. A.Sakuya will fix all of them.

Congrats, that's incredible! I'm tempted to do something similar with my A.Ra team... but I'm also playing with Anubis and eventually A.Sakuya. Not sure which team to plus, we shall see. All I know is that I recently picked up a dupe Fuma, so my freshly hypermaxed Fuma will likely be fed off.

Looking for new Best Friend. Can offer A. Bastet, Ronia, Urd, Skuld, with A. Shiva coming soon.™ I have one to spend, so show me what you got! I have a bunch of other stuff, but that's what will be up normally.
Well I have RSonia, Lu Bu, and dancing Hera-Ur for devil leads, though I usually lead with Hera-Ur and use the others as subs. I have A. Bastet in my second slot, and Urd sees a lot of use lately, but my main slot is A. Horus. Only Horus is +297 though, the rest have very few +s. So others probably have much better options. I just haven't had the time to farm + eggs.

Is anyone here excited for Jord? She looks like Athena 2.0. In fact, running Jord//Athena seems like it might be a good option.
I hadn't looked at Jord before. She does look good, and I tend to run GrOdin on a lot of my teams anyway (being +297 and used to be max skilled before they changed it), his stats are just too good to leave off a lot of teams when it needs green. The biggest thing my Athena team is lacking is RCV, but I don't think I would run 2x Jord because the HP boost is one of the nicest parts of Athena, so one of each is probably going to make for a very well rounded team. Probably better for the tablet Athena team since it runs Meimei instead of Lielan for its full board changer, but will work well with either.

So I had to replace my phone last night. Tripped walking up the stairs to my door and caught myself with the hand that had the phone in it. Broke the screen with no chance of doing anything to get it back (though now that I think about it I might put the battery back in and see if I can pull anything off of it with my computer). Went with the Galaxy S5. It is a PITA to change phones, nothing is right now, have to change keyboards and sounds just to get started. Also 30 minutes of re-favoriting my box.

I know, right? If I ever managed to roll an Isis or even a Sun Quan, he'd be gone in a flash, but until then, he's providing me with on-type double-TPA colour coverage with good stats (especially post uuevo - that's some nice HP he picks up).

How's about Top Droidragon? Get your colors, 60% poison/jammer resist, and a full 100% blind resist combined with Ra?

Yeah, having only two Kalis to my name, I like to focus more on utility subs. It's through ... choice. Yes, choice. Totally my decision. :smallwink:

A.Orochi is a completely viable choice. A.Susano is incredible in that team, too, despite the lack of a God typing.

TDD was a consideration, but he's off-type, his stats are terrible, he may as well not have an active either for how long the cooldown is, and his resistances, as it turns out, are mostly superfluous when you've got three full board shifts. (The blind immunity's nice, but that's about all he gives you.)

I considered TDD for it as well, but I think that'll mostly be saved for stages with lots of blind/orb screw. After all, any round where he prevents jammers or poison is potentially as good as spending an active that round. And preventing blind is just stupid convenient, particularly in those no-recovery stages where half the floors blind.

Thing is, it's not really, since you're spending your actives for the damage multiplier anyway. If there's a ton of orb screw in a dungeon, he has his place, but the majority of poison and jammers in newer dungeons come in skyfall form anyway.

Mm, good point. I sometimes forget that I'm used to considerably more than 25x damage, at this point - which feels very odd to say, but it seems to be slowly becoming a reality of the new metagame. We're reaching a point where Ronia won't complete 80% of the game's content reliably for you any more, you need more oomph than she offers. Used to be she petered out toward the top of late game, and you needed something more for end game; now I'd say she's petering out earlier end game, I don't think she's quite walled at the end of midgame yet. Getting there, though. The tricks new dungeons offer really make her work for her wins.

U&Y makes a perfectly good stat stick, especially 297'd out. However, I'd be sorely tempted to replace him and one LKali with two more generally useful defensive/utility Blue and/or Green subs. YMMV, of course, but I'd rather have 2 ideal subs and 2 strong subs with useful skills than 3 ideal subs and one albatross.

YMMV, of course, but I'd rather have 2 ideal subs and 2 strong subs with useful skills than 3 ideal subs and one albatross.

This is kind of my thinking when I look toward the future A.Sakuya. I *could* field A.Sakuya//LKali/LKali/LKali/A.Orochi//A.Sakuya, but I suspect that one of those Kali slots might be better off with some other generally useful sub.

Oh sure, but if you're running dungeons where the x25 is enough, you probably don't need to worry too much about fine-tuning your hypermaxed sub selection. :smalltongue:

Mhmm. I do in fact do just that sometimes; my 0-stone C10 clears were done with Kushi and WDK in place of LKali and U&Y. But for general use, if I don't absolutely need DR or bind-clearing in a dungeon, the third board shift really is usually worth bringing along a high-damage sub with no active. And my blue options are actually pretty limited. WDK's a little better than TDD statwise, and at least has a useful active, but for God-type, the only blues with usable actives I have are Nut and Sara (edit: and mini-SQ, but echh, those stats and awakenings, even with the active's power), which... ehh. Maybe Nut? Short cooldown is nice, if she were skilled up, but questionable value in throwing +297 at her; at least U&Y is used on three different teams. Kushi, on the other hand, I could certainly see as a + target if I want to expand options for Ra rather than starting on a new team.

Huh, uvo Nut has double TPA. Maybe that is a worthwhile thought.

I cleared the whole demon challenge yesterday with Ashiva! I'm super excited because I haven't managed true demon realm without stoning before and it only took 2 attempts. I did get a bit lucky on Satan though, one does not achieve a 12 combo by intention alone. So I've now no-stoned true demon realm, Hera banquet, extreme God rush, and extreme dragon rush. One-stoned Yamatao rush because truly Kagatsuchi vexes me in every possible way imaginable.

Wow, you have a lot of plus eggs. I still haven't quite finished Shiva and Cao Cao is barely started on hp and recover (I'm basically in an eternal +attack hole due to Shiva falling behind by 13 compared to his other stats).

That is pretty gorgeous. I'm still behind at just 2x U&Y, Kirin, and Batman hyper. Started Sun Quan recently. Unfortunately, Kirin has been taken off my main lineup, so those are somewhat wasted.
